It's a novel idea that keeps true to Nintendo's main brand of making fun games and systems for not-so-serious gamers.

This seems like it allows Nintendo to get into mobile gaming without having to worry about porting its games for iOs or Android for a variety of form factors and devices. It's streamlined their development process which can only mean better games.

Nintendo hasn't been attempting to get into serious gaming since the N64 and it's probably for the best since, from what I understand, Nintendo doesn't have the resources for R&D to create next-level gaming devices like Sony and Microsoft.

In a way, the lack of raw power that the device has is disappointing because it would be cool to see Mario Kart or another Nintendo exclusive on a really kitted out system, but I see Nintendo's reasoning for their business choices.
