When the Neo or Scorpio comes out, all them PS4s and Xbones ain't obsolete. They'll still be supported for several years. And they'll be four years old when these refreshes hit the market.

It might actually extend the life cycle. If there's a danger, it's in developers holding games back powerwise to support the oldest consoles.
