I kept it pretty close to the original build specs the post started with, just with the latest platform. Biggest gains seem to come with the SSD and the memory, which prices have dropped a good deal for more capacity (16gb of memory is going for what 8gb went for a few months ago). Cases are subjective as much as anything, so I stuck with the Fractal case. While I used a Nvidia GPU for this build, an AMD R9 380X can be had for the same price if you wanted to go with Team Red.
