If you're planning on doing any mildly engaging gaming a discrete GPU, even an inexpensive one, is going to be better off than onboard graphics. Both Intel and AMD are making strides (and if you're dead set on going onboard, from a GPU standpoint AMD will do you a bit better in that aspect), but spending as little at $150 (and maybe less than that) on a dedicated GPU would still be a better bet
