Reused the SSD I had in my laptop and a 24" 1080p monitor--everything else is new. A 4GB 770 is overkill for a single 1080p monitor, but I paid the premium for future-proofing. The new consoles are packing as much as 8GB of GPU memory, and I expect the ports that eventually come over should benefit.

The build was a little nerve-wracking, being a TOTAL noob, but I got through it with barely any mistakes. The HDD actually isn't registering, and I need to figure out why, but right now I'm too damn happy with the rig to bust it open again.

Coming from 4 years of laptop gaming, this thing is amazing. Getting that first dialog box about Skyrim auto-detecting graphics quality and then seeing the word "Ultra"....damn near brought a tear to my eye.

Anyway, I'm about to turn off my cell phone and lock myself up with some Bioshock: Infinite this weekend. I've avoided every single Infinite post on the internet until I got this rig built, and I'm glad I made the effort. I played the first 30 minutes last night and was blown away by the spectacle of it.
