As far as anyone really thinking the xbox has forgotten the core, of course not. But ultimately I think they did a shitty job of convincing a gamer to go and upgrade their Xbox outside of 'the graphics will be better'.

The mega-connectivity that PS4 offered with the streaming is going to be relatively niche in the US with the current infrastructure (hell, I can even stream a netflix movie in HD half the time), but it showed they at least they were focused on gaming.
