It was more timely with regards to the current discussion in this thread, but there were some good points made about "frictionless" gaming.

Interesting point about the difference in PC vs console gaming this gen though... I wouldn't go so far as saying it was "easier" (troubleshooting is still a bitch), but with respect to Steam and patch updates I would absolutely agree. Being privy to stuff like the Steam sales has actually been a pretty big revelation to me... being able to buy whatevers without regards for the system reqs is great, and I'm lucky that my desk is close enough to my TV to game on there.

Ironically, my TV is actually the bottleneck now with respect to playing on the highest possible settings. I'm just hoping my bonus is big enough this year to justify an entirely unnecessary "impulse" TV purchase to my wife.
