With both Sony/Microsoft stumping hard for their systems in 2013 it will relegate Nintendo to third place this gen.

At least if they just had to deal with one competitor they could sit on their lead and and try to pick up momentum 2014 with some fan favorite releases around 2013 Xmas...it's not going to happen now with them fighting against two different multi-month and multi-million dollar ad campaigns. There is no where for them to fit in.

As far as who's going to win the war...it's going to be close. Apparently PS4 is going to have architecture/dev kits more aligned to what PC developers are comfortable with. This should help to erase the developer friendly environment advantage MS has had over the years.

I am also getting a bit sick of the artificial barriers Microsoft put up as far as Xbox Gold is concerned...with everything being connected online it's getting silly charging me 60 bucks a year for access. It's going to be interesting to see what Microsoft does to prove Xbox Live's worth it when PS plus gives you a shitload of games for free assuming that the PS4 will finally close the online functionality gaps Xbox Live had (cross game chats)

That said, Microsoft is 2 for 2 console wise even with some epic fails along the way...they've been they've been consistantly ahead of the curve of or quick to adapt(online console gaming, the merging of PC gaming culture with console, how they out Wii'ed the Wii with Kinect).

It's going to be a bloody war this gen and gaming will be better because of it.
