The Players' CBA with the league is unrelated to these types of deals. Unless they negotiate for them to terminate concurrently, which I doubt.

You have to negotiate with the players on an individual basis. That's why when 2K football tried that All Pro thing with the legends they only had like 20 or 30 legend players. It became too cost prohibitive to sign all those guys to contracts for the use of their likeness.

I believe EA got in trouble for trying that a few years ago, but I'm not sure. But who knows why Chuck said know. You know he could use the money to pay the casinos off.
