BCFX was received poorly by critics, receiving a 3.5 by IGN and a 5.5 by Official Xbox Magazine. Reviewers cited the poor implementation of the halftime and drumline modes, the nearly non-existent AI, and the uselessness of the 'Nerjyzed Tokens' as well as overall very poor gameplay implementation.
