That being said...just a word of advice to all y'all Jerry West GM's out there proposing trades. Before you think the grass is greener on the other side, you might want to try actually playing with these guys before you accept a trade and alter the roster of your team. The playbook mode or a quick exhibition game can tell you a lot. Just a thought.

Also I want to give everyone in this league mad props. We've played 80 games in just over two weeks! When you really sit back and think about it, given that we're playing these games against each other from across the country (and world), it's really an amazing feat. And what makes it even better is that the games have been good! Real good! Whoever comes out on top will have earned it. In a 20 games season, we would be half way done by now, and some of the playoffs seeds would be forming. Now, with 20 more games to go, it's just too early. Once teams start to get in to a groove with their new teams (and in some cases rosters), the entire league could change. Round 3 is going to be something serious. Teams up top, don't get too comfortable. Teams on the bottom, don't give up.

Phoenix actually had Barbosa as a bench player. But he's actually better than most starting guards. So I put together an offer for him. I was thinking of keeping Barbosa but I also knew all you guys had been asking Phoenix about him. Then I see a cat like chapman struggling from the outside and not really using Brand on the inside. So I send him an offer with Barbosa in it and that suits his style of play. And voila.

see Pierce needs to maneuver with the ball too much. I prefer working the ball from inside out. Pierce slows the game down too much for me and I can deal with it most of the time till I run into teams like Cleveland and LA who play real fast. See what happens is that Harrington guards SFs and PFs so its hard for people to get that good matchup on me. Then he also can step back and nail the 3 with consistency. And he can grab rebounds over some of the bigger guys. He's perfect for my team. Pierce's catch and shoot is a little too slow for my style.

he'll figure out his shot somehow & Rondo will get hurt the first game you get him.

No lie, I think people aren't patient enough to learn their players. I'll use Ben Gordon as an example. Dude kinda has a funky shot, but if figure it out he can be lethal. Y'all see the Bulls haven't traded dude yet. This game takes some patience. People are trading away players they just haven't figured out yet.

B. Geezie has (somewhat) found his stroke. I'm still missing a lot of wide open shots though (with everyone). It's frustrating when you see a guy pulling up in traffic knocking down SEVERAL jump shots (Rashard Lewis to name one), and I'm clanking wide open joints off the side of the rim. At the time of the deal, he was a 20 & 10 player when we parted ways that fateful draft night many moons ago. Mr. Brand has now been placed in the Glen "Big Dog" Robinson category. you may want to do the knowledge, because I am not at the bottom of my division, nor my conference. There are still a lot of games to be played, so don't act like you cant be beat....because you have been. And you WILL lose again before this season is out.

The reason those games in the first round were so lopsided is because shots were not falling...AT ALL. So don't smell yourself too hard. Though you make a valid point, I can't say that I wholeheartedly agree with what you're saying. Without going into detail, there was still some BS involved with Memphis (steals were WAAAAAAAAAAy out of hand for one), and if anybody remembers any of those games, you know what I'm talking about. I'm not saying the man has a game genie (showing my age...lol) and is on some extra shit or slept with a developer to get a special code, but come on now...anybody can run down the floor, feed the ball to *insert big man name here* and run up the score. Is that my idea of fun or competition??? No...but maybe to some it is. And if that's the case, that's fine. At the end of the day, I realize that this is just a GAME...you find a glitch/idiosyncrasy/whatever you want to call it and exploit it to your benefit...cool with me. The only people I've played from our leagues who don't always resort to that is ne_atl and smuttyjay. Smuttyjay would use some serious strategy and run plays and so does ne_atl. And those matches be real good. I'm just sayin, it aint just 3 or 4 people playing a certain way in all fairness.

this shit is great. We needed this kind of drama in the past seasons.

Remember when we had the off season vote before Season II? One of the options was to limit points in the paint by percentages. I'm not sure if many of you noticed, but I changed my stance on policing the points in the paint simply because I just didn't want to scour over every game with a fine toothed comb looking for inconsistencies. As much as I enjoy the league, that wasn't going to be fun for me. So instead I voted that the "dunks in traffic" slider get decreased.

Well...it's one thing to try to use the sliders on 2's and 3's like Kobe & LeDiva.

4's and 5's? That's something else.

Have I noticed it? Sure. Kinda hard not to.

I made the mistake of getting in a PIP battle with Chris Bosh.

The 2nd half was mostly the same play on repeat.

Him with Bosh. Me with Boozer.

Boozer is rated 90+ with the post moves, and he can have his way down there.

I rationalized doing it because he was shooting a lot of hooks away from the paint too. None of them were dunks.

I was thinking to myself, "What's HIS excuse?" when in reality he could be thinking the same thing.

Who was wrong? Does that matter? Is there anything we can do about it? I don't know.

When off season stuff comes up and we're talking about improving the league, people need to speak up THEN about problems they see.

having to police something like that would suck the fun out of playing. Can it really be "fixed" or a medium reached? I seriously doubt it. Too many variables are involved.

Like SP 1200 said, when the game is on the line, most cats (including myself) would probably go with the "fa sho" baskets in crunch time. But to run the well dry ALL GAME is kind of weak IMO. I mean, why even play the game? If that's how you play it, then that's how you play it though. It's nothing that I (and hopefully anybody else) will lose any sleep over.

my game is predicated on lineup mismatches and taking what the defense gives you.

if every time I come up the court, I see you are crowding the paint? I'll swing it around the perimeter and get/take the 3. Problem is...the mechanics on this game are still rather off (IMHO) so even if it looks like you have a WIDE OPEN 3....somebody will get a hand up and taadaaa....waste of a possession.

With as many lanky and versatile players on my roster as I have...my gave is going to be predominated with post play. The key is to make you focus on the post...because my midrange and outside game is also not to be fucked with.

Not showing in my record (yet)...but I've slowly but surely been managing the curve to get up to you guys levels, and outside of the the internet gym rats (kaffkaffRJCCkaff) who are miles ahead of me in terms of time logged in...I'm getting the hang of you guys games and trying to adjust accordingly.

The good thing is that now...when I play cats with the Raptors offline...they are blowing people out the building.

...how will the games against the 76ers and the Jazz be handled for this round? Are we waiting for their new systems to arrive or do they automatically forfeit?

It's my understanding that when all other games have been played and only those for Utah and Philly remain, those games will be forfeited and we will advance to the next round (unless there is someone else that will be taking these guy's place until they get their systems back). As of yet, I have not gotten word as to whether or not anyone will be filling in for these two teams. So once everyone wraps up their other games, we can advance to the next round.

Both the Jazz and the Sixers are going to take our lumps this round and try to come back (hopefully) mid round 4, round 5 at the latest.

My XBOX was last seen in Phoenix, AZ.

just put the season on hold for a week or two, depending on the ETA of your Xboxes. If there's no word on hold long it will take to get them back, then I guess it's best to simulate the games. But if they say you'll have them back in a week or two or three, I don't see why we can't just put the season on hold and resume when they come back. Just a thought. Unless folks wanna just keep it moving. I'm cool either way. Folks get time to practice and no one misses the playoffs just because their system took a crap.

I gave nispey Nate and Wilcox (solid backup PF) for Arenas, who he's struggled with.. Pecherov hasnt played all year for him so he's a non factor.. I may at times put him at Center and shoot the 3 with him since he can hit from downtown..

I just need a new look.. i dont think its a big upgrade to arenas, but it may spark my offense.. and Wilcox isnt needed anymore with Birdman starting and Jeffries backing him up (lets face it he earned a spot)

this trade helps both of us out.. an example of a lopsided trade would be how I acquired paul pierce and powe for those 2 knuckleheads.. but when you start the season with an all star squad you can make those types of trades (hello Lach how are ya?)

And this is not just to you nipsey, but some of you guys need to spend some time just practicing jumpers with these guys (or maybe the art of the mid range jumper in online video games is gone). I'm not saying I'm some 2K9 guru or anything (I mean damn, just look at my record), but patience would really help you guys avoid making lopsided trades. Arenas is a better shooter than all three of those guys. In fact, if Ben Gordon is avg. 20+, Arenas should be too.

LEARN YOUR PLAYERS and you'll see why they're rated 90 and above.

Plus, with Season III being the sudden flea market, we might need to put some rules on trading next year. Some of these trades I'm still shaking my head at.

i mean to each his own but i'm sorry Arenas for Nate Robinson would be unheard of unless there was money involved or something. Brand for Barbosa and Eddie House...c'mon i mean this is the video game world we're in so i understand how some of the trades have been wild....i'm just mad i haven't been on the receiving end of some of these bargain basement deals..lol

My problem with Paul Pierce was just his game was slow. He can score but I prefer guys who can quickly catch and shoot and Pierce is a more take your time kind of player. He can hit everything in the post tho. He's like Kobe around the rim.

But I really couldn't do anything with Arenas. I tried, but couldn't get his timing down on jumpers and he got blocked on his jump shot attempts 1/5th of the time. I do better on jumpers with Jamison and Butler. That coupled with the fact he can't finish in the paint made him expendable.

It's not like I gave away the farm. Nate Robinson can finish. I've played the Knicks and he always gave me fits. On paper, it may seem like a lopsided deal and it would never happen in real life, but I think Nate will work out for me.

Imagine how pissed everyone would be with me if I traded him to Lach for Rondo and a bag of magic beans. Y'all woulda banned me from the league.

go the custom camera (2nd on list). Place the red circle under Chandler and not the ball but make sure you turn camera lock off (camera lock "on" will follow the ball). You have the camera following the ball and not on Chandler.

I can create all camera angles from custom. I hate you can only lock onto the ball (and not player) in order to follow the play, but turning lock off and moving the red circle gives you some of the best angels (ie..Sheed shaking head, sideline shots).

Howard more than anything amazes me with his rebounds. Dude boards over my entire front line!

And you're right about Joakim Noah. He's having a good season and is clearly making me second guess picking them for Season III. I like when he wins P.O.G. cause I'm secretly hoping he balls like that in real life..ha ha.

No diss to the Hornets, but Paul is playing like a third tier player right now. Maybe he can turn that around in the second half of the season, but he's not playing like an All-Star. He's rated 102 (tied for highest with Bryant and one above James) but can't average double figures in points or assists? Something isn't right there. And with the way the Hornets are playing, they will struggle to make the playoffs.

drive that fucking ball all night long, that's what he does in real life anyways. Dude can finish at the rim and his passes get through, unlike many PG's (Steve Blake). I've played guys that lived in the paint with CP3, and he can be a headache. He shoots the 3 at a decent clip and he's fast too. I think the problem is, there's too many guys on your team taking almost as many shots as CP3 and David West. Work through D West and CP3, everyone else is an after-thought/ spot up shooter. lol. Shit, that's how I play it with Brandon Roy and Aldridge. Everyone else can get it off the rim if they want their shots. Just my opinion. But it's hard using PG's to their potential. I mean, Steve Blake is probably a lot better than I'm able to use him.

He's not the right fit then HE is the ultimate uptempo PG. You need Billups man. He definitely not uptempo. Pick the phone up lol

I don't need Tony Allen. He doesn't play at all now that I have Larry Hughes and Willie Green. And then Hedo is bigger than Harrington, has a better mid range game, can handle the ball as good as a guard, and he can still hit the 3. Plus I can spot him easily amongst all these niggas. lol. You dont know how many times I passed to a cat thinking they were Harrington.

since I haven't been able to knock down an open J with turk all season, the main thing I lose is his defense, length and ballhandling/playmaking skills. He's a good point-forward, decent on the boards and he's got that sneaky fast break where he's at the rim and dunking before the defense recovers, but I couldn't shoot with him this season.

methinks that since he's added so many starters it's going to backfire since he's going to feel the need to have more people on the floor a game then he may need, thus not allowing his main cast to get hot.

Also learning each new player takes time, case & point: Hedo, Billups' trades which are all great players but you don't get to understand them until later in the season when you can utilize their sweet spots. I hated Hedo when I played with the Magic until I plugged away and figured out how to kill 3s with him and utilize his height and strange bursts of speed to my advantage.

The Roid(c)eltics advantage is that you can't approach them as the Celtics since they don't resemble them in anyway shape or form. Lach will attempt to exploit that to his advantage, best believe. I approached the real celtics by watching the KG, Jesus & Pierce and if he lacked in any of them I exploited it. Now? Not even an option.

it'll be interesting to see how this pans out and good luck to the Roid(c)eltics may that number 2 spot in the East make it worth it, bitch.

What I went and did was not tinker with how I play with the Celtics. I didn't add pieces to spots where I'm use to doing a certain thing. I basically replaced Rondo with Billups who's a great defender himself. So all I did really was gain a point guard who could consistently exploit the trapping of Ray and KG. Beforehand, folk would pack the paint or trap Ray and leave Rondo wide open. And Rondo would clank and clank but every now and then make a shot. I use to have to get to the paint to do dirty work with Rondo.

At the small forward position I just like cats who can catch and quickly shoot. Pierce was great but requires a different mindset when using him. He's a drive and post up player who'll make everything going to the hoop in this game like the other top SFs and SGs. I'm not trying to relentlessy take my wings into the paint or relentlessly post them up. So in all the dealings you didn't really notice I was adding players to deals that I also wanted - like Larry Hughes and Willie Green. I know their games and wanted them on my squad. So Hughes starts and SF and Willie Green comes off the bench. Shooters.

Now on the bench like I said I got Green, but I also replaced Big Baby and Powe with a big time scorer in the paint - Brand. So when I go to the bench and the other team goes to their bench there's no let up on my end. Then I still also got Klieza on the bench who can come in and also play the SF or PF spot while Brand plays center. I still have guys who can hit shots from all over basicallyh. This bench versatility lets me even move Ray Allen to pg at times and really fuck a defense up.

So in all my ol foreign land friend, I'm good. And the Celtics have gotten into the mind of the Detroit coach. But see I've now told you what the plan is. So "Hurry up, RUN!" (c) Slick Rick and get ready. There's not much time left.

billups is going to take time to get used to since Rondo is faster but the point I was saying is that you'll simply have to work out your rotation and feel of the Roid(c)eltics before the pieces work and you haven't played a significant game since your team transformed. If you get the title Joe D will be the first to congratulate you and offer you a position as his errand boy with a possibility of a scout position.

Personally I think it will be interesting to see what you can do with it and I also look forward to destroying you all, as usual.

The fairness or logic as it applies to the deals is determined on how the owner thinks their team can benefit. Case in point, Billups for Rondo (no pun).

I struggled wit Billups. He's an excellent PG but offensively he requires shots to be successful. If that suits your system than good on you. I like to use a PG as a distributor and defender to disrupt the opponents offense. Rondo does just that. In crunch time I won't need him to take a big shot because I have Melo and Turk now. Either can drive, dish or pull up and having Wilson Chandler really gave me flexibility. He's a quiet scorer who can flush on you and an excellent defender on SG's or SF's.

There are no "unbalanced" deals. If someone feels they can benefit from getting certain players I say go for it. You'd be surprised how you can do more wit less.

On paper the C's look like strong favorites but Phoenix has been on a mission as of late. All I know is LB was right. Practice, practice, PRACTICE. It makes all the difference.

Folk may not see it, but Billups is perfect for my style of play. I want to see people run at KG and Perkins in the post and leave my point guard open. People pack the paint a lot against me and in the past Rondo was a liability because he'd brick so many wide open jumpers. Now people have to respect Billups and it can leave them scrambling to get back to the perimeter and when they do they also have to watch out for Ray Ray. Then there's not much of a drop off in defense on Billups either. That's why I love the Billups trade so much. And I've been practicing using Billups posting up. He is deadly at posting and then fading away. He's hit that shot for me 90% of the time so far.

And Larry Hughes is doing what I need him to do - run the break, hit open jumpers, and slash. There really isn't much for me to have to adjust to.
