you know I think that's the key right there, action rpg. I realize now that I did play kotor 1 and 2 and also jade empire so maybe I'm more of an rpg guy than I thought. I guess when I think about it is also the story and themes that have always made me avoid many rpgs. I'm not so much into the FF stories or fantasy lands. I have done martial arts for 19 years which is why I liked jade empire and star wars and sci fi in general are right up my alley.
