In true tournament tradition, character selection is double-blind

Last, but most certainly not least, disconnecters, aka pullers, aka ragequitters, your days are numbered: If you disconnect during a match, the system will also dock you your progress in the tournament, so pullers will never be able to advance into the higher ranks of tournaments.

Alright, this is cool. But I think a simple 'Loss' would have solved all the problems. Id have no problem losing the occasional tourney/some BP because of random internet stuff if they put in a real hardcore deterrent to quitting a match.

Also, the way the implemented the videos are weird. Top 5000 should be the only ones they store, but EVERYONE should be able to save their own videos at least (if not trade it amoung friends). And making certain things console specific like saving videos...wtf?

That bastards that play with Akuma getting pwned by my ChunLi will just have to take the whuppin' like a man.

at any time during the replay in real time. So I guess it's an even trade. I don't see what the issue is considering I wouldn't be watching any of those videos if I were to save them anyway. If I did, I'd just delete them to free up space for better things.

Ryu just might be better for practical use in tournaments.

Keep in mind the a lot of the Gamestop matches in the tourney made people use pads. A lot of the big names lost because they can't execute on a pad. I know Gootecks got peaced out early, and he's usually top 8 if not top 5.

Justin plays everyone but Rufus is his main. Daigo mains Ryu. M. Ross mains Honda. Pungkyo plays a few characters but his main is Ryu. I don't know about Ino. If Mago, Paul, IronFist, Ojisan Boy or Radiowave made it up that ranks, you would of saw a Sagat. They'd never ban Sagat or Gief.

somebody has some footage with 2 matches on 1 screen. Mike Ross peaced out 1 of the Sagats, and I'm not sure who got the other.

are the same who get desperate after they get their asses beat by the same person over and over again. That happened to me recently. I couldn't for the life of him beat him because of that damn low and high tiger he kept throwing at me. I eventually saw through it and almost won, but he got through by the very skin of his teeth.

also, has anyone had their saved game get corrupt and have to start over unlocking people. well i have. i kept getting the message that it couldn't load my saved game and after a few resets i had to just create a new saved game.

everytime I log off just to be safe since I heard on 360 it happens. Since It looks like it updates your stats everytime you leave a screen, I just make sure Im at the beginning.

that's the one thing I like about that system. I just keep my flash drive in the usb and periodically save my game saves. Ever since I had my Gran Turismo data corrupted I've been doing that.

I love small subtle things Microsoft did to make sure you gotta play by their rules, I find it hilarious how it reads flash drives, but can't save to them....only their memory cards.

1) True. It'll mess up your links and your reaction. I usually don't play matches under 3 notches.

2) True. It can get a little tricky trying to punish a Spiral arrow or a cannon spike.

3) Since PSN doesn't do N, you could probably get whatever. I'm using a Belkin WGR614 and I have the PS3's IP address reserved and set it up outside of the router's firewall.

..its never the reason i lose a match ...it just changed the way i play at times

is some of his EX wall jump shenanigans. El Fuerte's biggest asset is his speed. If you can ground El Fuerte, you win.

I've totally forgotten how to do a fireball with Ryu 'nem, but I'm gangsta with the dragon punch. I know it's damn near the same movement, but I end up doin the dragon punch each time.

Someone on SRK said she had a totally different move set than most of the characters.

She's so timing based, and all her moves don't do much damage. She's really about headgames...I tried to learn her and gave up. I might go back to her soon tho.

I stayed away from the Shoto's since I was burned out from HDR remix, trying to get my upper/FADC/Fireball juggle on. Id was trying to play Sagat, but he's a little too efficient aka boring.

also trying to incorporate FADCing in the repertoire (esp. with Dan, though he can't use that to ultra... for what The Doc knows)

I'm still trying to get better with Cammy and I started learning Abel, it's a great feeling to grab somebody in the middle of a special and swinging them around before throwing them to the ground.

In any order...i've been working on them all...they are all just thirds right now...i don't have a second...lol...I just have Ryu and the four above as thirds...

Both are pretty fun, and pretty easy to get a hang of.

Meanwhile, I didn't get Seth being one of the higher ranked characters since @ one point I was undefeated against him online. But maaaaaaaaan o'man, faced a 5000 BP player w/Seth and my Sagat got molested. Those air attacks are fuckin BRUTAL! >_>

cuz, 9 times outta 10, i'm using gief and seth's j.HP is so abnormal i'm never ready for it. i'm used to crouch blocking from a certain distance because people just can't reach you. not against that dick. i truly hate that matchup. then, the dick can just wall jump into stomp and skate to the other side of the screen. he ports through crossups or can dragon punch.

it's ridiculously frustrating.

Her only positive is her ultra has great priority/strength, but you can't combo it.

Everything else she has is a fail. Her soul throw has no priority, her fireball is pretty horrible (even in Alpha), reflect is kinda useless, that dashing soul punch thing is great because it comes out whip fast. Imho, all she has going for her is her ultra and normal moves.

I used Ryu to learn SF4 and I hit a wall with him so I switched to Sagat. Coming from Ryu, I can say I hate having to work hard for those links to connect to do good damage. Sagat is no nonsense, meaning quick 3-5 frame cancellable normals. Sagat is a linear character, which can be boring for certain people, but most if not all of the characters have a certain game plan. If anything it's probably boring to watch but I'm trying to win. Fuck all that other shit.

I like to do damage and reset my position on the field, applying pressure when needed. He fits my style like a glove. Smart players respect his zoning and anti air options but know how to hurt Sagat. He's not as effective as people think. Yet and still, they are humbled in his presence. He's the King after all. Be Blessed.

His only weakness is a slow walk speed.

but he has the fastest recovery time of any character in the game.

Guile is the only one that can throw a sonic boom right in your face and still have enough time to anti air with a normal. Fuson kills that shit.

slow pokes. the only efficient ones that'll create some space is his 3 frame cr. lp and 5 frame lk.

if you play him outside of tiger knee range you have enough space to jump over and punish fireballs.

oh and all of his specials are punishable (tiger shot when jumped over at the right time). extremely punishable. talking 48 frames of recovery and ultras only need 10 punishable

mixing up opportunities with the wall jump and the Flying Claw is pretty annoying, and causes one to think 2x as hard to fight that stuff.

Saw a lot of The FFDP in high-level play when it was still about the arcade.

and have to time his constant wall jumping. By the end of the match I have to break from SF for a secondl.

now that he figured out the two or three tricks I have, but that shit is fun to try.

The Doc doesn't get to see much Sagat usage for some reason.
It's mostly Rufus, Zangief, and Blanka rounding out the hate tower in SFIV.

Blanka, to be such a simple character, is annoying as hell.

Zangief is a pain if you're not using Ryu or Sagat. Even then, a good Zangief requires precise comboing and FADCing to keep him the eff away.

Rufus can just lick an asscrack backwards. He's not one that needs to be nerfed, but the million ways he can get his ultra off is silly.

but, let's just keep it gief v. sagat. if i spend a bunch of time avoiding high shots, low shots, ex shots, tiger uppercuts, HK, c.MK into tiger shots -- and finally get close enough and sagat lands a tiger knee - i'm on the other side of the screen. grab - i'm on the other side of the screen, b-grab i'm on the other side of the screen. that shit is frustrating as all hell.

plus, this fuck can link his ultra off of all types of shit. and, he can juggle w/them fast ass fuckin' fireballs. i played a dude that cought me jumping in w/HK and would follow up w/low tiger shots before i hit the ground. you know what that shit does to your healthbar?

i could go on and on...

i don't think sagat needs to be nerfed, but let's not kid ourselves like he isn't the beast (yes, BEAST) in this game. and, we're talking mid level play here. at the pro level, you see great hondas and great guiles ((shitty characters w/fucked ultras)), but that's not where most of us are.

See that's different. You're playing with Gief. that shit is an uphill battle to begin with lol. That HK shuts down half of Gief's game right there. It's like taking a soldier, grab his weapon, shooting him, and telling him, "Get the stepping." © DOOM

Some other options after the EX knee:

cr. lp: that'll come out 2 frames before whatever you do.
lk: comes out 4 frames faster. that's stuffable
cr. lk: 4 frames faster. that's stuffable
tiger uppercut: a risk but will stuff any normal you throw
it's pretty much a mix up game at that point. just hope I guess right.

Fei Long's EX rekka leaves him at an advantage though. I think Gief's SPD only needs one frame. The Tiger knee needs to hit on the second hit coming down. and a SRK beats that shit clean. Ken will get all 3 hits if he guesses right. if it hits kinda high you're in trouble. I've saw instances where it'll connect twice and still leave him safe though.

he thought I had quit and I thought he had quit. Do you ever have the match just disconnect between rounds? Shit has happened to me more than usual lately. What was funny earlier today is that I won the first round and the match disconnected in between the 1st and 2nd round and dude sends me a message like "u quitting pussy" and I'm like "I didn't quit stupid". I'm like why would I quit when I'm winning?

The screen goes dark and it you cross your fingers hoping it doesn't disconnect. I had that shit disconnect once and it wouldn't let me connect to any matches until I restarted the game. I was connected to the network but the game wasn't connecting to shit.

and white ones. I was able to go get me another silver to replace mine which was a casualty of Street Fighter frustration.

I installed it. Moving up the ranks already. I lost my first Tournament match due to cold hands.

i'm g3-c now.
lost in the finals 3 times against a beast of a seth (it doesn't take much against 'gief), a very patient dhalsim & an annoying fucking blanka. so, now that counterpicking can't happen due to blind select, i'm still being matched up against my worst opponents.

i was able to eek out one championship and gained 50 GP for it. i don't think i understand how CP & GP interact just yet, but, that's because i refused to read the instructions and jumped right into playing. i'm headed over to srk to read up.

right now ((like, this very morning)) - competition is great. it seems like a lot of the really good players were hype to try it out.

I've been playing a ton of Akumas and Ryus doing that shit lately. People are pulling out any tactic it seems now.

only when Im playing a shoto who wants to cheese with fireballs.

for those that haven't read at srk, it takes 2000gp to get there.

competition is definitely better up here.
only got a chance to play in a couple tournaments but most of the annoying tactics that you hate are honed to perfection up there.

of course, this is different for me because i use gief and for the most part, there's only 1 effective way to play him per character.


edit: pstripple users - check that video highlight of big 'gief perfecting an absolutely befuddled abel user. it was lovely. i've had a few more opportunities to upload videos since then, but it's difficult to remove a perfect.

Winning only gets championship points which disappear whenever you log off.

Don't tell me I have to lose all the matches.

in g3 it's 3 matches.
win all three and your CP are converted to GP.
a typical win in a g3 tourney can net you 50+ GP. a round one loss will get you 1, a round 2 loss = 10 (plus more based off of cp) and a finals loss will get you 20 (plus bonus).

I think i was able to score upwards of 70 and maybe even 90 off of a g3 win.

CP is a mark of the quality of opponents in a particular "tourney." you don't keep CP.

Granted, I wasn't in top shape but when you have things like how close/far you can be and hit someone without them being able to counter, it's time to go back to training mode for a little while longer. After playing against him on Sunday. I can hang but barely, his Gief is crazy. Played against Lach yesterday and got dusted. Biggamal is pretty good also. They are helping me hone my Chun Li skills, next time I'll be much more prepared.

There were some times where you were jumping and it would freeze me for a second. I was like what in the world kinda connection jetblack got going. I couldn't combo for anything.

After the blunder with Amazon and the Hori stick, I was able to order the Mad Catz TE from buy.com.

I'm sure it's not a big deal to most,

It'll just take some getting used to on the stick.

I can pull off FADC with ease, but I still can't figure out how to cancel and dash after pulling off a special. I've seen dudes throw fireballs, then dash along with it, kick the guy and have him fall back into the fireball, leaving him open to supers or whatever.

I wish I knew how that was pulled off.

The Doc hasn't quite got the art of Guile super cancelling in SFIV (imagine that it's a lot like SF EX) but The Doc can only seem to super cancel with Bison and/or Butt-rog in SFIV with the stick.

It was then that The Doc realized it really is hard to hit Gouki sometimes... Gouki/Akuma's best defense IS his offense.

Though, the one The Doc was playing was not used to Dan's ultra so if The Doc did win, it was off that move.

he thought he had me. I can tell he went into the match with that feeling like he was going to win. I'm sure it was especially after I picked Cammy haha. He did the typical motions, and with those types, you know that patience is definitely a virtue. Granted, he took me out the first round when he uses the Raging Demon.

I shrugged it off and start whupping on him, he's probably frustrated that I'm not falling for any of his bullshit. He tries to pull out the Raging Demon AGAIN. I simply jump over it, Gyro Drive Smash his ass. We're at the final round and he's a little flustered, throwing fireballs doing his typical thing. Once again, what do you know, throws the Raging Demon at me again, he got me..

BUT

he doesn't realize two things here.

one, he didn't take me out. I was still up and the match was still on.

two, the first time he got me with it, it filled my SUPER guage.

The very second I recover, (and I can tell his ass thought it was over too when he dashed up to me ready to kick).. BAM! Spin Drive Smasher! K-fucking-O!

I laughed so loud, I'm sure everybody in a mile radius could hear me. I could only imagine the look on his face and how PISSED he was when that screen lit up like it did. Guess it goes to show that it ain't over til it's over!

I then went on to lose in the finals. haha

i was pissed because i only lost because of lag. he was doing the typical akuma thing with the fireballs and teleporting out of corners but i was getting in with dashes and such. i could tell he was getting frustrated that he was just destroying me with that bitch made style of play. we did have major lag though and i was getting hit with some bullshit at range and i actually thought about leaving the game (lag is the only reason i would do this) but i was shook because of the new added disconnect stat.

I am not liking the games I am getting in championship mode. To much many cheap players. I keep getting Ryu players who come in with the jump kick sweep then when you block they try and throw. The more fun games are in the ranked matches.

I do pretty good in this and win tourney's back to back with my basic ass skillset but i'll crush you. easily.

i just started playing these tournaments the other day cuz i was out of town, but one thing i don't like so far is i don't seem to be able to connect to half the games i try. gives me the "unable to play, search again?" message all the time. what's the deal with that?

also, i agree about seeing more boring/cheap players in champ mode. i've seen more akumas than i have in the past. luckily i've learned to fight most akumas and win except against the better players. i'm always tempted to disconnect when i see akuma simply because i know exactly how the match will go and its boring as hell.

you'll come across better connections and they will start up with no problem.

i only choose to challenge people with 3 or more bars. however, about half the time i get either "game is full," which makes sense cuz somebody challenged before i did, or "unable to play." this message is more confusing but either way i can't connect at least half the time. what's also annoying is i hit X to search again and i end up with the same people over and over again.

It's only $20 more than the TE stick, depending on the art. Only thing is there's a 2-3 month backup on them. I also tossed around the idea of one of the MAS sticks, which use HAPP parts as well. But they're mostly out of stock and need an adapter, which I'm not sure how well that would work:

Altho I'm starting to learn that you can kinda tick into an SPD with Gief if they block at the right distance. Once I master that I think I'll be good.

but Rog can't really punish that cross up. I can see it coming, but that cross up plus ex legs resets my rush down and I gotta chase her all over again

It can be a bit slow, but it's suuuccchh a great buffer, and if it does connect, it does nice damage. I didn't know you could go into a super from it tho. I can't wait to try that later tonight.

are we talking about the qcb flip kick? just block that shit (high) and punish w/a spd. really good chuns will try to cancel a low MK or HK into it so that you're blocking low then need to block high.

if you're talking about the down towards HK shit. i hate that stupid fuckin' move, too, but i think you can stuff it w/standing MP on startup. whenever somebody lands that hit i go for 3K clothesline or a jab SPD.

you should be able to focus attack it, too, since it's a normal.

most chuns i play spend their entire time backing away, throwing jab fireballs and trying to land random bullshit s.HK's like they are sagat.

If I'm thinking about the same one, I was trying to SPD you on that. Once you start the block sometime, you'll stay blocking even tho you're really bufferig the SPD, but that shit didn't work. lol.

I've lost to beginner Giefs that lariat spam and hit me with an occasional SPD. That fucking lariat is damn near unbeatable when you're under it unless you know when to punish it. I haven't got the timing down.

next, if you REALLY wanna see some Dan usage... holla @ The Doc.

Prollem is Dan matches up BADLY with a lot of folks, so he can't ever get over the hump against certain characters.

as for matchups, el fuerte seems okay no matter who i faced (mainly for his ability to run and regroup). problem is i need an anti air and his ultra is hard to land. i'm still confused by him instead of confusing my opponent.

i can't see a reason to use him instead of ryu. move for move, what does dan do better? does he have more arc on the shoryuken? obvs, i almost never run into any dan players so i've never picked up on anything that i need to worry about when playing against him that stands out and makes him enjoyable in the slightest.

I had used Dan to prove a point to a couple people who one upped me back in SFII HD Rmx that shit done changed and I'm whoopin ass here on out hahaha.

IMO he's more symbolic then he is a practical, logical choice for serious fighters.

One thing's for sure, I get a good chuckle outta fighting Dan sometimes online - and his alt costume > everyone elses XD

The Doc would use Ryu, but he's just become boring and basic as hell as the years drag on. Sure he can FADC and juggle his Ultra, but that's just a snoozer. Ken, Sagat, Gouki are the same ITDO. Sakura is borderline out of that group, but her moves are too "wild" for The Doc to enjoy fully. She was a more interesting character in Capcom vs SNK 2.

The Doc swore off using Ryu from Super SFII until SFIII, but then Sean was in that game so The Doc used him instead. The Doc wishes he were in this game, but only if he were his SFIII NG/2nd Impact version.

Dan doesn't "do" anything better, in fact, most of his moves are worse in comparison. But he's just a fun character to use, in comparison to the others. They need to stop messin' around and make him viable (i.e. put him back in the middle of the pecking order like his righteous SFA2 version). Dan always had at least one thing he did better than the others until now (in the VS games, it was his damage, in SFA2 it was his taunting and SOME aspects of his super moves)... now, against a really annoying player of A-Class and above characters, Dan is almost always in a handicap. "Yeah, I won... but I was using Gouki".

Of the new characters, The Doc's taken to Abel, but he's almost Dan-like how deceptively useless his command throws are against certain characters.

I can't find the challenge I'm looking for. All I want to do is play tough people like bnfh and whatnot. I get bored fighting people that I know I can beat. I wish this game had lobbies where you could fight only super good people. Cuz I feel like I aint gonna get no better just playing average cats and then an occasional real good person. If it required me taking a lot of beatings, so be it. But that's what I want. That's how you get better.

I can always use the practice. Also, player matches are the way to go if you want good matches. I've made a lot of friends on PSN thanks to it.

my damn xbox controller kept shutting off on me in mid fight and the dpad fucking sucks. I'm really thinking of investing in an arcade stick. KOFXII and Tekken 6 are coming out soon so it might be a sound investment.

the sticks are expensive. the mad catz is 70-80 but i don't trust the brand and people had a lot of problems. i might get the hori ex2 and mod it.

i need a stick to really get better. i can't pull off moves consistently now and i don't like using the triggers so jab and short aren't being used but i need them .

but the Madcatz SE stick SONS the cheaper Hori jawn (Fight Stick 3 on PS3, not sure what it's called on 360) and the TE stick is godly.

When I got the TE, I knew it was gonna be better than that $40 Hori jawn, but I was really suprised how much better the SE was as well.

Hori also has a wireless pad coming with Tekken for $150 bundled. It's supposed to be a new stick so we'll see how good it is I guess (I pre-ordered one for the hell of it. I hate Tekken, too).

Balrog is raping novice Sagat's who fireball w/no timing & strategy and button mash, but a strategic Sagat? sheeeeeeeeeit XD

Wish my Sagat was as good against Vega as it is against Balrogs. That feminine ass Wolveraine-knockoff is easily the one Shadowloo mofo I hate the most.

It's a damn shame too. I tried my ass off with Chun Li. I can win a match, but 3 straight? Never happens. Always run into some ultra cheesy fuck using one of the 'fam'. Had to do the same thing, which kills me. But, a win is a win.

SF4 is the best fighting game evar.

i played it at a friends house first and he just dusted my ass and he's not even that good. course, i'm not a great SF player either but i looked and felt like a total novice.

i cant pick up the pace. seems like it moves at a snails pace compared to Alpha 3. the fightpad feels like a flimsy, weightless piece of plastic...but it works, so i'm happy with it. the adjustment from a lifetime of Dualshock is difficult.

fuck it tho. i need to unlock Akuma and Feilong like yesterday.

I want to use Fei Long but he changed alot for me to use reliably mainly for how his flying kick move is executed which makes it irritating for me. Why they changed it I have no fuckin idea but it annoys the shit out of me.

But yea, play through 1 round each on easiest and get as many perfects & ultras as you can and you'll get Akuma easy (also don't lose a round/match or else start over again). I think you'll have to get Fei Long & the other unlockable folks first before going for Akuma & Gouken tho.

And the Fightpad works for me. Had a Ryu Fightpad but shit broke on me after afew days. So far so good with the Chun-Li jawn I picked up a few weeks later. You'll start being competitive against folks/online once you become good enough to beat Gouken on Hardest level

after you unlock everyone (1rd on very easy) just pick a character you like, go to shoryuken.com, read up on your main's tactics/combos. my game improved greatly from reading shoryuken. you'll get the nuances of the game you never knew existed.

master the normals. they decide the game not flashy combos.

it's a bitch because i main blanka and always run into guile and balrog in the finals. those are terrible matchups for blanka. i usually make the finals w/ease which makes it worse. i even beat sagat most times along the way but a good balrog ethers blanka. i always wanna switch to ryu in the finals but don't because if i can figure out 'rog i'll be even tougher.

honda, rog, guile, and a rare chun li are the only ones i struggle with.

Thing is, he whupped that Japanese cat and Wong took Diego to the limit; it looks like in SF4 the japanese being that greatly advanced over the US was greatly exaggerated. No doubt they are better, but our best can hang with their best.

I mean, I don’t think that Japanese cat woulda looked that bad if it wasn’t Cammy. They play mostly in the arcades and she’s only on the consoles.

Still, I think Sanford woulda won if he played Daigo’s Ryu.

knees (jumping down+LK) and headbutts (straight jump up+HP).

You can wake up with ex bird to stop the knee bullshit, but the headbutt will hit you clean if you guess wrong (and that does a ton of stun damage).

Chun seems like a hard character to play with. Props for that, man.

You try to play like any version of SFII or SFA and you will get your ass beat. You definitely have to have your EX moves up on Chun Li and use those lightning legs (something I rarely ever used on SFII). But no true anti-air attacks and a neutered forward make an interesting transition.

I'm trying to improve on E. Honda (the only one I play with) and trying to figure out how to do the super and Ultra combos at the moment. Oh what's a cancel and how do you do it?

Got my 50 achievement points for winning 10 straight fights today but still haven't figured out a way to unlock every single character since I can't seem to beat Seth with everyone.

i'm starting to notice how my game is lacking because of a pad.

i've been playing pad since SF was on Super so I don't know shit about using an arcade stick. I'll have to relearn everything.

Tips:
Ultra+super are useless. Save your bars for ex-belly splashes and sumo headbuts.

The jab sumo headbut is a great anti air. The ex-belly splash is also good anti air because it hits em on the way up, and the way down.

Learn some quick 3-4 hit combos. Easy combos, because because of his speed whenever you have a guaranteed hit you want to take advantage, and don't want to be wiffing em.

Also, make sure you mix up with throws/short kicks up close. This is pretty essential, you want them to fear you and also be confused.

Basic strategy: your slow, can't really go through fireballs at all, but you have the hit points of a tank. Be PATIENT, and use jab flying headbuts and ex-headbuts(they are harder to punish) to keep the guy on his toes. Second you notice a pattern, abuse it to hell; Honda's not really a comeback kind of guy so every hit you do has to count.

Also, realize that your headbut does hella damage (about as much as a jab or two) when BLOCKED, so make sure you headbut often as long as they can't punish. Keep in mind that when you close in, combo or throw mixup

it seems I'm either going to have to invest in pads or sticks in the near future because that seems to be my biggest problem.

Kinda regretting getting it on the 360 'specially since the mad catz pads are wireless on the ps3. I'll either cop it on PS3 when the Super comes our or get SFIV used for the PS3.

Anyone heard how well the Tekken sticks work with this? I see those shits everywhere.

Alot of SF heads still lean towards the wired sticks because of percieved lag (they are just being paranoid) and wireless syncing problems if they have a tourny(a real annoying problem, ive seen PS3 dual shocks take over controls of someone who should be playing).

The tekken sticks are supposedly good, but the Madcatz standard beats them as far as quality is concerned. So unless wireless is a big deal, id go with the madcatz standard wired edition...or go with the PS3 wireless pads.

gotta have wireless. Mad Catz it is. I'll start pricing them now might even be able to save some money and get some from the states since the dollars low.

it already has all Seimitsu parts so you are good to go. i have the HRAP EX (non SE) and love it. the difference is the color scheme and the fact that the SE has Seimitsu buttons. i ordered Seimitsu buttons separately so i can mod my stick because i got it before the SE was released.

I've read about those, read the IGN review for it earlier this year but it's wired...

You can build a wireless box with little effort or tools, depending on what exactly you want. I managed to get mine built with an 8 year old and a 7 month old in the house. I'm now the proud owner of a wireless happ style PS3 stick. The best thing is, since it's built from the guts of a sixaxis controller, there is ZERO lag or any connection problems.

For me, it's invaluable for any charge style characters, since that's mainly what I played with in the arcades. I can now get Chun Li's super and ultra out with no problem, where I never could with a pad for years. Now, quarter circle characters, aka 'The Fam' (Ken, Ryu, etc) I'll need a bit more practice, as I didn't really use any of them until I played at home with a pad for the last decade.

Once I get my stick building blog started I'll send a link so you can see it's not really that hard at all.

I'm actually very inspired by it and am going to check around to see what materials are available here and price it (European prices are insane but sometimes you can luck out).

Even if it takes a while this might be the perfect project for me.

Got the Tekken stick with Tekken 6 and it's perfect for me. I'm just annoyed I can't get a good Tekken match online. It works great with SF 4 imo for the few times I've played SF4 lately.

Had almost given up hope until I got my stick. I still suck though...

That's a whole other level. them G2-A cats swoop in and get a quick and easy win...
