Hey all I was pulling my hair out with the MGO setup. Dont feel bad the shit is completely asinine. However I did my homework. Ok here are the steps.

1. Dont register via the PS3, hop on your desktop/laptop and go to
http://id.konami.net

just do it on the computer. If you dont have a bluetooth/usb keyboard its a pain in the ass.

2. Once you have that out of the way you need to update MGO to version 1.10 this is also a pain in the ass but only because of one reason

you gotta forward port 5730 on your router (if you are using one). If you dont use a router then I dont know why the update and download is not working for you. For me it would not start or it was really slow. I added port 5730 on my router and all download/update problems vanished.

Once your updated you should be good to go.

3. The username/game id process is retarded but think of it this way you only have to do it once.

My komani id is ShinobiShaw
my game id is Seldom_Seen
my char name is Lights_Out

they tell you not to use the same name for all three but when you think about it WHY? I suggest you use your PSN id for all 3 and call it a day.
