They can be some simple "do something and get a high score shit" like Tetris or some cinematic movie-game hybrid like MGS4 and everything in between.

I can understand if you like the more simple, limited story/more action type games like Gears of War as opposed to something like MGS with an intricate story and less gameplay...but at the same time, there were four games before this so what did you expect?
