The only reason I called M$ again to try to get my dead XBox replaced (without having to pay) is this Sony mess. I originally bought a PS3 for God of War 3 and to have a blu-ray player, but I was still buying most of my games for the 360. Then, my 360 died on me and the M$ site said that I had to pay to get another one.
Its sad to think that PSN was down for more than a week before I called M$ and confirmed that they'd replace it for free. Then, I got a label from M$, took almost a week to ship my Xbox off (I was outta town), and I STILL might get another XBox in the mail before PSN is back in action. Its funny stuff.
