"God Wants to F@#CK...."
Tue Jan-09-07 12:24 PM by AquamansWrath

Who is prepared to discuss, God, Religion, and Sexuality????

I find it intriquing that many religions previous to christianity?
How was religion challenged by
the Sexual revolution of the 70's?
The AIDS pandemic of the 80's?
They Gay revolution of the 90's?

Was the suppression of sexuality in christianity intentional? Why?
How does that law of then matter now and why?
Is there a hidden agenda of the Church (notably the catholic church) a hidden agenda?

Judaism and sexuality?
Islam and sexuality?
Christianity and sexuality?
Buddhism and sexuality?

the prophets and their mates?
the sexual scenes of the bible?
How have these markers from religion supressed women's rights?
Gay rights? African American rights?

let's discuss the ideology behind the Joy Division.
The Holy Tabernacle Ministries.
Waco.
the Ammish.
Suicide bombers and matyrdom.

The false reality of the immaculate conception.
The possiblity of Christ's offspring (the so called Holy Grail)
Having sex to continue bloodlines and the significance of it.
The Sexuality of King James.

Let's openly and freely discuss.
God wants you to fuck me.
Smile.

that Christianity is only one piece to the bigger world puzzle..
so it's law only has jurisdiction over christians... in other words..
let's all play fair...

multivereses were created. The only spiritual power there was is and will ever be is creation. There will be no liberation on this shitty ass planet until all religion is done away with and all humans learn to enjoy a good fuck too

it supresses evrything. the whole point is put god first. and he wants obedience and faith. we are all little demon children running away and we should be thankful he doesnt just send us to hell like we deserve.

do i beleive this?

not really

but i am addicted to praying to jesus. and when i do these days it really makes me feel good since im goin pretty far in calling yahweh out in his bufoonery.

i think the religion is psycho socially designed to drive people like me insane.

i mean, once you are hooked on praying to jesus you are sceewed. the word sound power is too strong.

it might as well be real.

tere is o oint in revolution. thats what the voices tell me. give in to jesus they say.

give up.

they are trying to turn me into a pracher or some shit so tey continue the useless game of chrisitanity.

if it is not real, it is a terrrible, terrible, gly ystem.

and it fucks with countless peoples heads.

im a lost oul now. i can see everyone around me.

spiritually empty.

just hoping that god wil lsave them, worried about muslims, athiests and other demons. plugged into the drivel of their daily job, getting their jesus medication at church but being dpressed and awaiting heaven most of the time... or reading the bible with a highlighter and noting that "god has been good" at every step of the way, while they buy fries at mcdonalds, wondering to temselves, yeah these poor souls would be happy like me if they have jesus. oh well, i got my armor. and what is the armor protecting us against? our very doomed nature. and at the same time we dont have a clue whats happening in oter parts of the world or in some shitty part of town. do christians ever walk through a mall and imagine that at least half these motherfuckers are gonna fry. do they ever look into their eyes and think "turn or burn" i dont even want to know the answer to that question.

chrisitanity is aselfish religion. we are not all in this together.

god wont even do anything except put us in this mess and "hope we turn to him"

all he does is "wait at the door to our heart for us to let him in so that we can grow in his love"

thats all he does.

its self centered, we "have the free will"

we are not all in this together. its like "fuck you man, im getting saved boyee!"

then after i get saved i might preach the same lines (and they are the same lines, god has a mind, and all chrisitans have the mind of god, and the mind of god is the same everywhere...........................................................................................lol)

well then i might try and get some of my friends to go. but if you are a pentecostl you know that some peole are just demons

and if you are an evangelist, you know the pentacostles arent worshipping god anyway

christianity is just one piece of the world puzzle...

several things I am noticing,
the posters have all been christian... can we get a muslim, buddhist, jewish perspective... and be clear about your relationship with the religion.. devout, stray, in and out.. either way...

mind you... the whole irony of Christians is that the bible itself is a highly sexual piece of work... all the sex that's in the bible?

the physical art of sex is a beautiful and amazing thing...
it's the social ramifications that most christians and religious folk focus on... but in their same book it tells you not to judge...so by passing judgement on one's sexuality doesn't that make you a sinner?
of course it does... therefore...

let's just take soloman and sheeba... fuck that... just soloman.. .he travelled the world fucking in search of the perfect mate...
let's talk cleopatra... who fucked two emperors to save her queendom...
these acts are not considered flawed in the bible... why?
but let's pull the magnifying glass back and focuse on the larger scope... if god didn't want you to fuck, why give you private parts?
does it not amaze you christians that the roman catholic church has nude men everywhere.... and not nude women?

the homosexual agenda in the catholic church has existed forever...
how does this make you feel?
homosexuality and child molestation are two different arguments... I say that to be clear cause often times people think that's the argument that they are synonymous... which they are not... however in the priesthood, homosexuality is rampant... and suppressed desire... thus the act of suppressing this is what may lead to the foul play with children... but it is the act of suppression, not the homosexual desire that leads them there...
it's a social abnormality within the priesthood...

Christians, please comment on the story of the angels coming to visit folks (I forget exactly who off hand but I will remember)
and the townsfolks wanted to fuck the angels... so to spare them...
the person they came to visit gave the town their daughters and allowed them to G off (that's right I said it) on their roof...
I will get the specifics of this passage...

both have existed... how does that make you feel if you are say, catholic... any catholic's care to comment?

Incredibly intriguing argument. especially about how "Christians" focus on the consequences and not the fact that the act exists in the scriptures...I'm Christian and I will reserve comment until I actually think about this...

cause I don't want to offend anyone... but being logical is key here...

also...

another thing to think about...
if Christ was perfect...
if he was void of lust... then why have a woman with him at all times... and even more... why fall in love with a whore?

isn't that like Malcolm X falling in love with a stripper?

let's discuss.

that's an odd question...one would think that if he was lustless that having a woman around wouldn't make any difference. maybe he enjoyed talking with her, why does it have to be about sex? what I mean is if he was devoid of lust, why not have a woman with him at all times?

I thought the disciples (who were human and thus not perfect and thus susceptible to jealousy) falsely portrayed mary magdalene (that must be who you're talking about) as a "whore" because jesus liked her more, being in love and all.

are you likening malcolm X to jesus? or maybe because strippers are like a step down in promiscuity from hookers, malcolm x, a militant albeit admirable activist, is a step down from jesus, a peaceful storyteller followed by a bunch of obsessive fishers? no point here really just curious what you meant

Not many people know that Jesus was Mongolian...probably because he wasn't. He was actually Chinese.

Nicea did a number on Christians everywhere. Thats why I hardly even open my Bible. If I wanted to read Shakespeare, I'd holla at MacBeth...

I digress however...

Jesus was flesh and blood. Let's not forget that fact. He had emotions. He wept, obviously. And if you can weep, you can get horny.

judging must be defined! if we judge each other and we ourselves are found not living up to par then yeah, thats not right. Say, you like to steal then youre a theft am I incorrect to point that out?
only if Im condemning you is it sinful i.e. "youre going to hell!"

If I understand the above correctly, youre trying to tie in catholicism/chrisitanity, which you cant do. Because alot of what you they do the Bible speaks against... 1 Timothy 4:1-3

will be perfect...
catholic
methodist
baptist...
all of those things are interpretations...
now my argument is this... since most of the stories in the bible (especially the hebrew old testament) are found written in heiroglyphs in Egypt which predates the bible... we again go back to the accuracy of the bible to begin with...

not to mention if you are saying there is only the bible, which knowing you you are (smile) which is fine, it's your religion, respect... then that would say that before the bible was written we were... Godless... which doesn't make sense...

also... if you have overcome your earthly carnal lusts... then you should be able to walk around naked again like Adam and Eve correct?

We won't even discuss how the hell did they have names that are regionally based names in accordance to language and location...
nope... won't go there...

or why prior to the Bible, in Roman and Greek mythology all thier gods were lustful and naked...

yet most of these gods ended up in the bible or fused with the bible...

can understand the bible...
if you don't know heiro...
then just say it...
don't excuse it... cause there is no man floating around, but there are damn sure pyramids.

Considering the first leg of the book takes place in Egypt...
this is most appropriate.
You cannot have a book taking place in Egypt, with particular artifacts supporting this book, and then say "nah, that's not relevant" cause that's relevant as a mufucka you dig. Which is fine and a good thing in my eyes.

Also, with all due respect, one would think you would find that link as it may justify or denounce your book...

however, Christ was perfect... so to be christlike is to strive for perfection....

Also... let's not assume no one knows the Bible...
let's level the playing field and give everyone equal respect even if they disagree with your view on Christianity...
also...
you never answered not one question...

not about the angels (in the bible)
or Soloman (Sulamaynne) in your bible as well...
Cleopatra (in your bible as well)

so instead of avoiding and choosing choice coined phrases given to us by baptist ministers who ate pork and died of a stroke...
let's focus on the topics at hand specifically... .

again with all due respect.
Keep in mind, I brought this up...
no one else. My point isn't to denounce anything but to deal with reality, facts, and myths. Let's clear the air.

Let's add to the already ignored list...

here's why social repression and foolishness runs rampant amoungst most religions in my eyes....
for example, monogamy, the work of the Catholic Church in order to save land and reduce overpopulation (who remembers the plague? Bueller?) cool. No?

Then why are all the prophets: married to more than one woman and still considered prophets and praised and studied?
were fucking midwives
mistresses
nurses
etc...
this went on continuously throught the bible... sure the response will be 'well, this was the old testament' blah, blah, blah...
but... so were the commandments. Since Moses had MANY commandments... what would allow anyone to pick and choose... as oppossed to enforcing law.
Also, if we have to take on the ten commandments (which I think is foolish... especially when you know that these mirror almost to the tee the principles of Ma'at - another Egyptian foresight) then you ask why doesn't it say "Thou Shalt not Take More than One Wife?"
or... "Thou Shalt Not Fuck More than One Woman?"

Also... as a die hard christian... in knowing King James was a homosexual man... where do you stand with that? Please don't give me the line that that proves God can come thru anyone... cause then you open a wound... that means Charles Manson is also a Christ like man... in other words... you will be forgiven no matter what... now if you believe that fine... but I have a problem sharing heaven with Hitler...
and that would also mean that the Catholic Church has a right to molest kids and forgive... only cause your same book implies that homosexuality is wrong... not because I'm accusing anyone of anything.. .
just expound...

Peace.

Aqua, I believe God to be a just God but I cant tell you why He did not command man to have more then one wife. He did provide laws on how men were to deal with more then one wife. More importantly, I would like to point out the people you make mention of it also mention their sin and their punishment for their sin. (ie. David/Bathsheba 2 Samuel 12) Although Solomon's was the wisest man, he began to lose that wisdom when he started to deal with so many women. You can still be wise and just and have a sinful nature. The prophets of the Bible proves that i.e. Moses sin against God, when he smote the rock. Only perfect human being was Christ. Do we make void the Bible because of the prophets sin...No! we let it be our example.

I can care less about KJ sexual preference, that judgement..heaven or hell is in God's hands. "YOU" shouldnt have a problem with sharing heaven, just pray to God that "you" make it. We can assume hitler is going but we cant say for certain...hence why we cant condemn anybody. Why do you think KJ sexual preference is important?

First, let me commend you on tacking this bull by the horns. Also, I like your style, your serious about your commitments and that’s always a good thing. I’m not a Christian, but I do read and have read the Bible. I don’t subscribe really to any religion, but I always keep a Koran, Torah, Bible, Kaballah, Sanskrit around… you name it… I’m into it. Lol.
King James’ sexual preference should be a huge flag, not that being gay is foul… cause I don’t make those kinds of calls…. I’m heterosexual… and that’s all I deal with, but I’m not prepared to denounce anyone. However, it’s the contradiction. For one, I find it very interesting that when the Koran came around, it states that it would be a sin for anyone to change the book, and that by removing one word from the book, then the book basically is useless. My issues with King James is that in his own book it speaks out against homosexuality, yet him being a homosexual professing the words of God would indicate one of two things to me.
He’s either a liar. Or this book is a business. I find it odd that someone would devout themselves to converting a book that completely denounces their sexual and carnal preferences. I find that to be, odd. This is one reason why I have always felt the converted version was to reduce marriage (down to one wife) as to reduce population (cause of the plague, overpopulation in Europe etc.). The whole idea of Ham lusting for his father while drunk, and the promotion of the so called curse of Ham ( I don’t believe that it was on black folks although many orthodox jews/southern Baptists/ and nazis still preach this “that’s why they have black skin, where enslaved” etc. )
Now as far as Soloman it was until Sheeba that he actually fell from grace. He ran the world fucking any and everything he felt would be a potential candidate for permanent mate. Sheeba turned him out. She even had him worshipping false idols before it was all said and done. The wisest man in the world turned out by a woman. What does that tell us?
Let me present something to you. My issue with Mary being a virgin. Here’s why. Throughout the Bible when God comes to a woman, she is normally a whore. I’ll say it again. When God comes to most women in the Bible, they are normally whores… or under modern terms, just highly sexual. Jezebel, Mary, Sheeba, Cleopatra. To name a few.

As far as Egytology, let’s discuss… if you know it (which on the real I never doubted you for a second, nor do I know)… then this is most important considering the stories of the bible.

Also, to imply that sex is wrong or a sin… is to imply that God made a mistake when making us.
Because of hormones, desires, the odors our body emits that triggers these desires… this would imply that Satan, Iblyss, Shaytaan, Samuel, Murdock, had something to do with our genetic makeup.

This is a great conversation. Let’s keep this going.
Thanks Trinity, I know you are providing the Christian perspective, also… what sect do you belong to or are you void of that?

What I find odd is that you believe its "his" book. I find it hard to beleive that you havent stop to consider that maybe its not. I would be more curious as to why he would author a book that does denounce his sexual preference. Besides, I hear thats a rumor anyway. I'm currently reading "God's secretaries" that speaks about KJ life. Have you heard/read it?

that he was human, LOL
and sinned just like any other human, it also shows God's mercy/grace....

why would He allow His only begotten Son...who never sinned to come thru a whore?

sure, I just ask that you bear with me becuase its hard for me to explain it. I'll go back and look at your question from before

sex isnt wrong, and its only sin when its not done according to how it was commanded..ie one should be married. You can have 2 million mates..just be married and treat them all the same. Treating them all the same is the KEY tho, see how just our God is, lol

>This is a great conversation. Let’s keep this going.

you know I would love it Aq! Im sorta like you, I dont consider myself religious but in order to get folks to understand my way of life, I do what those so called jews do, except not their traditions
I consider myself an Israelite

I knew there was something deeper than just a christian going on there.
Yeah, several things...
he definitely was a homosexual. No question.

He didn't believe in the Bible, my take on it...
he used it for politics and politics only...
overpopulation
land ownership
property ownershp
the fusion of gov./church
placing fear in those who oppossed the king...

See folks... here is another issue...

why is that Christ was the poor righteous teacher... and so where others... yet it is widely believed by Christians that
God appoints your elected officials and you should respect and honor them...
and God went to kings and queens all thru the bible?

yes... all these questions are to open peoples eyes.
Make em think and exchange some excellent dialogue.

him authorizing the translation of the Bible may have been political. However, if we're going to take that stance we should look at why it political. Theres some great history between England and the roman catholic church when it comes to politics and the translation of the Bible. This issue wasnt in England but rome....who wanted to control everything.

No sign of rebellion
Reverence for the King
Landownership
reduces the population control issue (thus the idea of monogamy, remember Europe had a population issue... a HUGE one. The plague, etc.)
not to mention that this came from their King..
it's obvious... The kingjames version of what they pray and revere?

In the Bible...
it speaks on revering elected officials, God playing a role in that...
it speaks on following these leaders... etc.

how would the Bible that speaks against "politics" benefit him?
Prior to his authorization it wasnt translated into a language that everyone could read. dont you think your arguement would work better if he didnt authorize the translation into a language that all could read?

if people could now read it then wouldnt there be some sort of uprising against him? If we use your example, KJ was a homosexual and the bible clearly speaks against it.....

the pictures
the names
the stories... all altered... you can find those same stories in the pyramids... complete with an all black cast... yet of course he was the first to engineer the MGM asthetic... "it don't matter if it's real... as long as we come out looking like heroes" namean...

the Bible is not a book you read cover to cover like a novel, its more like a puzzle, you have to put it together. like, folks say the four gospels contradicate each other, when they don't. You have to read all four to get the whole story.

so yeah, I can tell you anything if u cant read, its in a language that you dont understand or you havent read it for yourself. The whole bible is built around a nation of people, Israel, how does that belief the King?

lastly, yeah others had stories but none rock the system as Christ did

the Bible...

Astrology
Numerology
The Torah
and the Egyptian Sanskrits...

that's the original version...
when reading the King James version you must be aware of the fact it's a rewrite... first I don't follow king James but for some reason it's popular...

Again... read into the life of King James... he used the Bible as a political tool to keep marriage down to one wife, to control the kingdom's population as it was becoming overpopulated, and that leads to disease, famine, possible drought, and then of course the obvious... revolution. This is why the comments on God and elected officials are all in his version of the book.

Yes, the only way to read the bible is cover to cover...
however, first you must know what your reading...

kj rewrote of the bible,
its your opinion that he took from other sources to write one of that would support this kingship?
if it is then I dont agree with it nor does it make any sense because as I stated earlier, its not supported, nor his politics, nor the people of england. Personally, just like today, I dont think he or any of the translator understood the Bible either...they were just doing it thru the works of the most High God.

you had an protesting going on in england, people wanted to get away from the doctrine of the mother church. Just like today, most chruches are centered around that doctrine thats if studied we all know its a bunch of foolishness. yeah maybe he did have it translated for political reasons but I think it was moreso because he too had a desire to know what all the fuss was about...so yeah political in a sense to apease the people and yeah maybe some desire to make himself look good....

cause he made it a political issue... the fusing of the church and the government... hence the big issue when America started the seperation of church and state...
and also, that's too mystical...
let's not assume he had some higher calling that somehow guided his hands into rewriting the book although he didn't know nothing?

Here's why I know what I say to be true..
the renaming of the central characters in the book... .
how can you have a Moses or Jesus standing next to a Peter or Paul?
Cause the intention was to europeanize the book, hence the EuroChrist.
Now, instead of guesstimating (and forgive me if your not) go back and actually read up on King James...
he didn't even rewrite the book he hired others to do it...
using original texts... now why would anyone want to do that?
Some christians will foolishly say 'so the world can understand it'
really? The world was speaking English at that time? No.

in fact, imperialism at that time had not even really taken place...
this book was rewritten long before
the Native American holocaust
the African holocaust
the African American holocaust
or imperialism into India... no sir, they were all speaking thier own tongue...
mind you I agree with what you said about the King and the Pope...
however, I disagree that the point was to write it to be extra confusing... they just didn't know the math they were dealing with...
there is a hidden agenda there...
most popes study under masonic order anyway... so they know the hidden math...

Africa... they sent explorers in priests

only works if the people cant read it for themselves...
you take a book written in hebrew/greek over to a nation that doesnt speak that language...
talk good about it
yeah perhaps you can get some people to follow whatever doctrine your preaching
but now that its translated into a language that most of the world speaks it harder to deceive people
if they read it for themselves...
and pray for understanding

Exactly, example: Shaka Zulu and what the British did through religion to try to take over. (A.G. Edwards had something to do with that, but I ain't one to gossip and you ain't heard that from me!)

you mean the so called great christian "roman emperor" ...
who supported paganism and allowed those practices to continue..
who persecuted Christians...
who changed the 7th day Sabbath of the Bible to the 1st day of the week, sunday
who changed the Passover of the Bible to Easter...

so yeah I will acknowledge him but but in no way has anything to do with the Christianity I have faith in....

he did keep the laws, statutes and commandments thats written in the Bible. Maybe changed a few..

basically, Bloody Mary was killing Christians and those that lived through the persecution escaped to Geneva Switzerland. Calvin and Knox were there and they had a major translation operation going on that were faithful to the Antioch texts. Additionally, they weren't too fond of the royalty that was claiming God put them on the throne. Their completed Geneva bible did not support that. Also this version had Calvin's footnotes all through it. The Geneva is 90% similar to the KJV but because of those denouncing complete obedience to authorities and a few other things, KJV ordered his people to make a new edition, an AUTHORIZED edition. What's funny is the KJV which is supposed to be the one made in common english for the people was made for the educated people while the Geneva's footnotes was understood by the common man. They LOVED the Geneva Bible. But King James wasn't having that. Look it up, it's interesting.

>the Bible is not a book you read cover to cover like a novel,
>its more like a puzzle, you have to put it together. like,
>folks say the four gospels contradicate each other, when they
>don't. You have to read all four to get the whole story.

actually the book was meant to be read cover to cover, as is all reading material. Only reading portions leaves misunderstandings and confusion. I guess that's why religion has the world so F'ed up now. People and church's specifically read only certain sections of the bible and omit the rest. Not having any knowledge of any of its contents and what beneficial knowledge can be aquired by reading the whole instead of the part. Example, two of the so called christ's deciples were gay. Do some reading and you will find the passage: laying in a field of lilies one turns to the other and says, "I have love the like I have loved no woman." Or my personal favorite when Paul and Barnabas had their falling out and going their separate ways because Paul was cheating on barnabas with another man and barnabas got mad and left.

The so called christ wasn't poor by any means. He practiced jewish religion which in plenty of his stories he spoke of money and how to preserve it to provide for oneself.

To find the scripture concerning this:

"Christians, please comment on the story of the angels coming to visit folks (I forget exactly who off hand but I will remember)
and the townsfolks wanted to fuck the angels... so to spare them... "

The angels came down, and mated with humans. I *think* the offspring were called Elohim. I am looking it up now..they are referred to as "giants" in the scriptures

several things wrong with that statement...
even Jesus told his apostles not to pray unto him...
of course this means nothing to Christians even though he said it...
he is the Sun, not the father... he is not God...
he points this out again and again...
he even falls on his knees to pray to God...
ever wonder why Moses never prays to Jesus?

yet they still pray to him despite him pointing this out...
this says what? Christians know the hype machine more than their own bible... it sounds good rolling off the tongue
it reads well when your being all romantic bout shit... but it's not real.
at all.
It's also homoerotic.
That's another issue. Jesus, especially, has been more detrimental to black folks than helpful, making them weak, passive, dismissive about real issues, without a inkling or ounce of trying to find out the truth. You'll believe Oj is God if you say it enough and teach your children that bullshit.

homoerotic: you've got to be kidding me. why is everything about sex? can't jesus be around a woman for any reason other than her being a whore? and can't christians whisper to jesus for help or admire his good qualities or whatever without being gay...and what about women christians?

I tell people ALL the time that it is not in the Most High's plan to save everyone. What would life be without suffering? You might as well not be alive.
We are all meant to suffer, survive, and grow from that experience. It kind of irks me when I hear people pray to God to save them from their current situation. No, don't pray to GOD to be saved...save yourself! Stop being a sheep and hold yourself accountable for your own predicaments. And once you have survived, pass that strength onto other. Let people know shit is fucked up, REAL fucked up--but they have to get through it. God helps those who help themselves...

And I'm pseudo Christian, lol. Very pseudo.

so here it is again...

Smile.

25. "no point in being a revolutionary"
In response to Reply # 11

the point is not what we want. its what god wants. there is no need for a revolution or no revolution, this world is flawed and fallen, we are flawed and fallen. we cant save ourselves, we are greedy and destructive by nature, as well as coniving, violent, lustful, tricking, self centered, we like ot torture and yell, be angry, and cruel, and hurtful, we bite the hand that feeds us. he created us perfect. we are corrupted and not perfect like he is. he is perfectly just and perfect love. we are corrupted and sin.

he let satan corrupt us and gave us the chance to let him fix us and continue to love us even with our flaws, and he will let us live forever with him in a perfect world wit out sin, sorrow and corruption. in order to be resurrected into the eternal kingdom we have to accept him as the lord and savior. then when we die we wil lbe resurrected into te kingdom. this world barely matters except as a place to let his followers get more people to know his truth.

now its question time

im not gonna go DEEPLY into word meanings because stuff like that confuses me and makes me question everything, and it seems like nothing makes any sense any more.

but words to think about are love, justice, perfect

if there was a revoltion, or no revolution.... who would be controlling it? us? or god?

christians talk about our glorious free will. the choices are join god and be saved or go against him and be eternally tormented in agony. i imagine it will be drowning forever in hot oil without dying. but i suppose the creator of the universe can make hell even worse than that.

why did he let his cretion get corrupted. why is this absolute reality, existing on a dynamic where part of it can go against itself? angels go against absolute reality? humans can have "free will" to go agianst absolute reality?

well there are infinitely more questions.

wy are there questions?

why am i questioning gods plan?

why is god a cold machine when his creation is so infinitely complex.

we didnt even ave words wen we were born.

we didnt know what dfingers and hands were. we looked at something, we didnt think tat there is a good or a bad. we just were

i love eastern and african philosophy.

if you ask me western religion deals with too many constructs

because western culture deals with two many constructs

christianity is all about "save yourself from hell"

no one really entertains the idea that "we are all in this together"

because we dont matter. god matters. knowing god matters. its about a personal relationship with god.

if the stakes are eternal why do we have this little game on earth? the 70 years. we have. nothing to eternity. absolutely nothing

other cultures are communal and work together. everytihng is part of a whole.

in chrisitan absolute reality the whole is divided against itself. its absolutely insane. there is no happy harmony. god vs satan is the absolute reality. and they dont get along. god is absolute reality and satan is going against it. or absolute reality is that some of absolute reality is unblessed with a conscious (satan, fallen agels, damend humans) and that conscious us gonna be tormented forever. and thwre is nothing else. by definition. because god is all. or his creation is all. with all our string theories and shit. bull shit. alternate universes, art, matematics. bullshit. just our puny attempts to interpret some supreme creation. and luckily the creation isnt near as abstract as a scientist would like. its quite fitted to make itself very known to s, on our base, banal, nasty ass terms, and quite firted to fuck our shitup forever.

so pray with all your strength that jesus knows you when you die. or pray beyond hope that christianity is not real.

Moses was a revolutionary, he took on the Egyptian Empire

unless of course we are prepared to discuss the sexual revolution?

Here's something we should discuss,
the act of repressing women in religon... specifically Christianity.
Islam is always discussed... but let's discuss Christianity and Judaism, which mirrors everything spoken in orthodox Islam.

>>Also... it is possible to be a revolutionary... yet in a religion?

And I think the answer is yes...Now, hear me out
I feel that religion( take Christianity at is very basic form) is revolutionary in that It encourages people to do what is at this time in history, against our "nature"(a nature that has now been shaped by our modern world..modern being the last 2,000 years or so)

I was raised Roman Catholic just like every other irish kid from Boston...but sort of drifted after my confirmation...Though I dont believe in *Jesus* or at least the story given to me, that doesnt stop me from reading the bible. But when I read it, I take it ALL as stories meant to convey how we should live our lives to be better. Not to be better Christians or Muslims or What have you, but rather on the basic human level...Basically, I look at the bible or the koran or whatever as a sort of Aesop's fables or parables...Stories with a moral or lesson to be learned that will help you in the grand scheme of things. Others see the book as the true word of god...to each his own I suppose.

So, having said that, Once you strip away the church(aka the physical and administrative aspects of religion which are the ones who hijack the original basic message to suit their needs) and just look at the basic messages in the book and interpret them to see how they can be applied to your life.
Now, in the world we live in today, I feel like compassion...love...peace...brotherhood...trust etc are scoffed at for the most part and have been replaced by the glorification of individuality...violence...distaste...judgement etc...basically self serving motivations...
So, by stripping down the word and following the basic message( which by the way, is the same throughout all religions) you can be revolutionary by today's standards...Which says a lot about our modern society...that striving for peace and humanity can be considered a revolutionary move is a sad statement about a sad state of affairs

I apoligize, I don't think I explained that very well, but we'll see

my biggest issue is normally most people can't even discuss christianity cause someone is so quick to throw in "the blood of christ" or something completely unrelated to the topic at hand..

it's like the dilemma of the Red sea being the wrong translation versus the Reed sea being the correct location...
ask any christian and they will wholeheartedly say the Red Sea.

that infinite being exist only in finite human literature. A being that was truly infinite and omnicienst would be able to relate to anything in anyway because he is, ta da! infinitely powerful.

I think anytime man tells you some it should be scrutinize for truth. If i told you my cousin Nu-Nu was pregnant AND a virgin, well, you would probably apply common sense and dismiss that story, right?

Well, if you dont believe me you contemporary, then you shouldnt beleive the same story when told by ancients.

I agree but something you just have to leave it alone. like, can this thing be proven untrue? or is just that the finite mind wont let you believe that its possible for an almighty God to do this kind of work thru this creation? besides saying man has flaws, well we know that... is it impossible tho

If i told you my cousin Nu-Nu was pregnant AND a
>virgin, well, you would probably apply common sense and

key word here is "common sense" common according to us humans right? honestly yes, there would be some doubt. However with all the modern technology we can find out if she's lying. Now what happens if it proves not to be a lie....then what do we call it?

How dare we limit the works of God...

men will use God as a tool to control you.. .
first off, God doesn't come in the form of a book, CD, DVD, or VHS tape (and for the record they are all one in the same)...
that being said...
God comes thru you... not thru words, slogans, phrases, and ceremonies where you spin in circles...
common sense is about as sensible as the person who's making the call..
that being said... there are those who would question the pregnant girl, there are those who would believe the girl, and then there are those who recognize while there are such things as miracles, it's more than likely there are more liars.
It's not about limiting what God can do... cause for the record, that's impossible... you can't limit the sea, the mountains..
the sun...
however you can recognize a devil's games when he plays them...
that being said, King James isn't God... so fuck him.

so the very idea of man being able to limit him is impossible and foolish... we don't have that kind of power... even if we think we can block him out of world/mind...

for example...
i was speaking with an athiest... who I respect...
and she said "give me one sign that God exists... just one"
*long pause*
she said "aha you can't"
to which I said "actually I just did.. ur still breathing right?"

my point? We miss the ingenuity of God or the higher power on all levels that it's trivial to follow a book... how do I know?
have you ever witnessed a birth?
a death?
a reborn person? NOt christian reborn, a real reborn person.
I say this to say that people tend to forget, the Moon isn't on contract, and the Sun isn't an employee... that alone says it all.
There is nothing in the history of this world that man has made that is comporable to either... and that should remind you daily.

the acts contained in the bible... may be his work..

let me break this down for you so you get it, cause your trivializing for the sake of making your point.

the same stories in the Bible can be found in the pyramids (so God drew those pics on the walls and authored a book? C'mon money)

the old testament is found in the Torah...
the Holy Koran has the old Testament and the new Testament in it plus the life and time of Mohammed...
that being said... if you are willing to believe that God authored (which is silly) the bible, then he must have had a book deal and authored the Koran and the Torah too?
No... man did. Tracking miracles and miraculous stories is one thing, actually making them is a whole nother ball game.

Man doesn't have the power to limit God are you crazy? God created the entire universe... no God's power is limitless as understood by my humble human experience...
so we agree, the most high is indeed unconditional and impossible to limit... just because you may not be able to Say god's name in a building doesn't limit him.. cause he/she can tear that motherfucker down... whether through one of us, thru a tsunami, a earthquake..
man.

pryamids bigger than anything on earth...
the only images that can be seen from space...
with the Old Testament images in them?
that's not proof?
The Bible isn't proof, it's a book.
That's like saying Blade Runner is proof.
The Holy Koran, people can prove Mohammed was on this earth...
they cannot with Christ.
People can prove where the grave sites of Moses, Mohammed, Mohammed's grandchildren even...
they cannot with Christ.
Again, when arguing your point, run with real facts, not emotion.
that will cause you to miss the point trying to make one.
The Quran is equally as important... the mere fact that you are willing to suggest Christ trumps Mohammed shows your conditioning.

those "idols" were nothing more than mere symbols. However, in the later kingdoms this idea was corrupted and the symbols were fully worshipped (this is what I think you're talking about). Also, there has been a debate for years of the similarities between the stories of Heru (Horus) and Jesus.

But the original reasons for those "idols" weren't meant for worship...that's what I mean by it all not being exactly true. It goes a bit deeper than what you think. Kind of like how Christians view the cross...

confusion comes in when one tries to related egyptology to true Christianity.

a better comparision is between egyptology and catholicism...i.e. the cross. because a lot of their worship comes from the doctrines of egypt

True. What do you consider true Christianity? But like Aqua said...a lot of those stories in the pyramids are about the same as some of the stories in the Bible.

true Christianity was not rooted in idoltry

which stories?
because again I think you and aqua are thinking of the doctrines of the "mother church"

Im mean folks have tried to make the comparison between Christ and horus but you really cant...

I know. I just wanted to know what you think true Christianity is. Also, like I said...I'm no expert in this but it goes beyond Jesus and Mary. Look at some of their written Proverbs. A lot of them are identical. Look at the different stories concerning a great flood. Isn't it kind of weird that some different cultures share the same similar stories? It just isn't all about Egypt by the way.

Exactly, the egyptians didn't worship idols, they made historical note/images to tell stories and pass down knowledge of a time period.

Think about this. Why would and infinite being who already knows what one will do before it is done create something it knew would do dispicable things. Create a human son that is supposed to be itself incarnate, and then have to die to cleans the slate for his own creation. Sounds a little retarded to me quite honestly. And secondly, an all powerful being that created all existence fighting a war with another part of itself(satan) instead of just doing away with it all to make everything perfect like heaven is so called described in the bible.

how this relates to Christianity...

for our sins... if the nigga died at all...
again... more nonsense...
you can walk on water?
turn water into wine?
you can evade the cops for a long period of time?
yet you just up and die on the cross? Sorry, not buying it.
There were sinners before and after Christ... so what does that say his plan didn't work? Nah money...
let's take it slow...

how does Christ dying mean he died for MY sins?
Yeah it's a popular, romantic, nonsensical line... but let's dissect it really.

>how does Christ dying mean he died for MY sins?

something had to die...
in OT times it was an animal that made atonement between us and God
but see an animal dying for you didnt clean our conscious
this is why Christ had to come teach us, preach to us and then die for us..

hence the animal vs human theory

>say you were driving while you were drunk

>replace the deer with a human life....

Actually, I'd feel worse for the deer than the human cause first of all, cars aren't of the natural world and a human should have enough so called common sense than to stand in the middle of the road while a car is speeding towards them and not get out of the way. Secondly, I only drink at home before I go to sleep and make sure I never leave the house after I've started drinking. That's called being responsible for your actions like the god of the bible should have been.

>how this relates to Christianity...
>in relation to Christ
>knowing He came and died for you
>when we're all filty scumbags

To believe the so called christ died on the crossed is an absurdity in itself. For a person to die on a cross takes many days to take place. Also, if you really read the book and know anything about what's going on, the combination of elementst that were used to so called wet that fictional characters lips were actually used as and anesthetic and what gave the appearance that he had died, which is why he didn't respond when he was punctured through his side by the spear. After he was taken down and mary went to clean him, why would she run to thomas first and have him go to check him, and he was bandaged. You wouldn't bandage a corpse, would you. On top of that, thomas was a physician. Go figure. Secondly, the entire concept of having someone else die for your sins (especially when you haven't been born yet to sin) is absurd. The choice factor totally renders his sacrifice unnecessary. That's like punishing your grandchildren's grandchildren for a piece of candy you got caught stealing when you were a child. Now ponder that for a minute.

CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A priest who was removed as pastor at a Kent County church has written a letter to parishioners apologizing for committing sexual misconduct against a young boy, but says it did not involve physical contact.

Parishioners at Holy Family Catholic Church in Caledonia Township, about 125 miles west of Detroit, were told Saturday that the Grand Rapids Diocese had removed the Rev. David LeBlanc.

Bishop Walter Hurley said LeBlanc, 71, acknowledged years earlier that he had sexually abused a preteen boy in Muskegon in 1971.

"I was immodest with him and embarrassed him," wrote LeBlanc, who led the 1,200-family parish for 10 years. "Although there was no physical contact or physical coercion, my act would still constitute sexual abuse because it violated the sixth commandment."

He referred to the Ten Commandments' prohibition against adultery. The Book of Matthew in the New Testament quotes Jesus as saying that looking lustfully at someone constitutes adultery.

About 500 people filled the church Tuesday, many expressing support for LeBlanc and anger at Hurley, who did not attend.

The Rev. Thomas Page, the diocese's associate vicar for priests, told the gathering that LeBlanc and his victim met with a counselor in 1993 and that a "reconciliation had taken place."

"I think this whole thing is a big sham," parish member John Connelly told Page, according to The Grand Rapids Press.

The repression I believe comes from people.
In A verse in Ecclesiastes states that one should enjoy his wife everyday. I believe that sexuall repression is a result of how people think they should be.

In the bible it clearly states no sex before marriage,
Solomon did sin by having sex with all those women, which is
partly why his Monarchy split into two.

and also some of the best examples of chrisitans there are.

and they were closet FREAKS!

monks are no better, and they dont hardly contribute to society. probably becuase they are so indoctirnated they feel hopeless just walking out the door, seeing the devil everywhere

some did help a lot though... over all it seems like a pretty worry free life.

does it count as repressed if you don't know what you're missing? or if you thoroughly convince yourself that you're missing out on a bad thing (like "oh darn!") and you're better off watering tomatoes and singing and transcribing the bible? oh yeah and praying. we're still talking about monks right?

homosexuality in the repressed catholic church is rampant cause of the need to incite fear in those who follow God...

most christians focus purely on the reprocussions of God...
not the proactive love of God...
making God out to be judgemental, pissed, angry, and vengeful...
why focus on the worst that God can be?
yet tell humans not to dabble in these emotions?
How many Gods are being praised in the Bible?

my take on Rev. X is that he is very much needed... the romantic perspective has been sold again and again...
this comes from white folks... playing the PR game..
they still do
fake holidays
fake politics
fake tears (see James Brown's widow for details)
haha... nah, no offense to anyone... it's just the climate of Europe and America (same country really)... it's all phoney, and Rev.X, despited being one funny mufucka to watch when you blazed, has some honesty in him... plus I believe God will come to you through whores and criminals before a good girl or a mamas boy... they haven't lived life and been to the bottom...

Sexual repression is meant to inhibit your Kundalini or sexual (creative) energy. They don't want you to know you have power so that you'll think you have to look to them for answers and divinity.

you want to know about sex scripturally, it's all laid out there.

No Gay sex (punishable by death).
No Lesbian sex (punishable by death).
No animal sex (punishable by death including the animal).
No sex with your mom.
No sex with your Dad's wives (concubines)
No sex with your sister.
No sex with daughter in law.
You can have multiple wives.
You can have sex with foreign women, but you can't marry them or give your children to foreigners to marry.

Foreign women you say? Yes, cause God is the God of Israel. Who makes up Israel? Whom are the Israelites? Read Deut. 28 - you tell me?

Religion is bullshit. But the Bible is not. I'm not a christian and I am not religious. I just know what's in the scriptures - the Israelites were not supposed to hook up with other peoples in marriage, cause then you start following their customs and doctrines. But again, during wars, if a man found a woman that he faired, he could take her, he just had to follow certain practices. Shaving off her hair, and letting her mourn her family, relatives, that you just took out.

Again, a man could have multiple wives in ancient times.
David had I think seven or eight. Solomon was one of the wisest men that ever lived, but the scriptures said he loved many women of other nations...even started erecting temples to them or their gods. The God of Israel is not having that.

You could have sex outside of marriage! Fornication is another word for adultery; no sex with married men or women. You could have sex with prostitutes...see Samson who was a Judge of Israel, or Judah who thought he was going to hook up with a prostitute, but was tricked by a righteous woman.

Things were a lot different then...and that book has stories man.

As far as NOW is concerned...who would WANT to have more than one woman with the way things are? Back then women knew their place was at their men's side, and followed their men...today, you think that's going to happen? Could you imagine having 5 women telling you what you should be doing day in and day out? LOL!

and how the story ends with Soloman...

and also...
that you just pointed out several things...

you just said ancient times... right?
yet you also quoted new testament issues...

how can you co-sign for the Bible... ?
first what version are you co-signing for...

also..
if what you believe is this...
then your basically saying that once Israel is set it's population..
that there is no other choice but to inbreed at some point...

now I also ask you...
do you realize that the original children of Israel were black...
I ask for a reason.

and lastly...
didn't God protect others outside of Israel?
and if not... then what does that tell you... exactly?

1 Kings 10 goes into the Queen of Sheba's visit to King Solomon. Now a lot of people like to infer that they got down. But anytime someone got down in the scriptures, it tells you plain...such as "he lay with her" "and he knew her" or "came unto her". That sort of thing, but I don't see anything but a meeting of powers.

>you just said ancient times... right?
>yet you also quoted new testament issues...

The Scriptures are definitely meant to be looked at as a whole, because there are prophecies in the old testament that came to pass in the new, and are YET to come.

>how can you co-sign for the Bible... ?
>first what version are you co-signing for...

Well to get as accurate as possible you're going to have to learn some Hebrew and Greek, but the King James version is a sufficient version to read from. I will admit to seeing words flip flopped from version to version and translation to transaltion...but from a historical viewpoint, I believe this to be the best english version.

>also..
>if what you believe is this...
>then your basically saying that once Israel is set it's
>population..
>that there is no other choice but to inbreed at some point...

I don't believe in inbreeding at all. I believe it's in Leviticus it also talks about sleeping with relatives that are too close to you. I don't want to read into anything further than that. But I'm sure this is why men had multiple wives, etc.

>now I also ask you...
>do you realize that the original children of Israel were
>black...
>I ask for a reason.

Exactamundo. But keep in mind Israel's seed is amongst the entire world now. You're going to have Israelites that are blue eyed and blonde hair. When you're open, you can read people's character and can tell whether they're Israelites or not.

>and lastly...
>didn't God protect others outside of Israel?
>and if not... then what does that tell you... exactly?

You'd have to point me to a particular scripture. But God does not change. He has been dealing directly with Israel since he made his promise to Jacob's seed and continues to deal with them (whether they are aware of it or not). Salvation is for them (well, for some of them, cause the scriptures talk about there only being a remnant of Israel that are like the Israel of old making it out of the judgement coming). The other nations are supporting actors in this movie, and will be an inheritence to Israel according to the Word. Basically, they'll be serving Israel, Israel will be serving Christ, and Christ will serve the Most High. I am sure when it is suited to God's plan those other nations are protected, but only to serve God's purpose.

re-read the story of Soloman and Sheeba
he did sleep with her
he did practice worshipping her false gods
he became a shell on the throne...

in terms of inbreeding...
it would have had to have happened..
if you start out with 400 people.. and out of that comes 4000
trust.. it happened...

in terms of the old testament and the new...
well that depends on your belief system..
I agree.. take it as a whole... life never stopped...

in terms of King James
we are in stark disagreement here...
however you are correct... unless you know Hebrew
or Greek... (even tho' these stories existed LONG before either and can be found on the walls in the pyramids which is what I disagree about and the accuracy)
i still agree...
cause you see...
there are 7 missing books from the Bible..
the stories of Christ from 13-33..
let alone a host of other stories...

I disagree.

I Kings 10
Again discusses the meeting with the Queen of Sheba whom had heard of Israel's power and Solomon's wisdom etc.

The story is more about how great the Kingdom was at the time and how all other opulent kingdoms, including the Queens were in awe of Israel's splendor.

Again, point to the exact scripture, because I don't see it within that whole chapter that Solomon hit it.

BUT...

When we go into 1 Kings 11

1 Kings 11:1
But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites:

1 Kings 11:4
For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.

1 Kings 11:5
For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

This is when Solomon starts messin' up and as you said, went crazy and became a shell on the Throne. But God made a promise to David about his son...but I'll let you follow that yourself.

----------

Like I said, I don't want to go into what consitutes inbreeding. Cause I know damn sure I don't want to have sex with my cousin. LOL! But you're right somewhere it had to happen.

------------

As for Egypt. You do know that Joseph was Pharoah there, right? But Egypt isn't the heritage of Israel, like a lot of black folks today want to claim. We were slaves there.

----------

The Apocrypha books go into some detail and pretty much exposes who the children of Israel are today...and well, a certain group of people don't want that. But there's always going to be books and secret manuscripts and tablets and whatever else. All that just gives me a headache. It's enough for me to read the scriptures, compare notes, dig into history books and look at current events to know where I am in the midst of all this. haha.

Brotha, I know Solomon's story. He did not hook up with Sheba, and can find no scripture to prove that he did - like I said, it the scriptures make it plain that he was with white, chinese, japanese, etc...but no mention of him laying with Sheba.

If you have it, please post it.

Check it, the book of Deuteronomy 28 goes into the blessings he'll bestow on Israel if they are obedient, and the curses if they half step. For example...

Deut. 28:49-50

49 The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

50 A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:

Deut. 28:64-68

64 And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.

65 And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:

66 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:

67 In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

68 And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

---------

Now ask yourself, which nation(s) have had the eagle as their symbol?

When was Israel sent to Egypt in ships AGAIN! and sold into bondage and no one saved them?

---------

There have been several captivities for Israel, one was Egypt, another was Babylon, another was Assyria. Each time God put them in the hands of their enemies for being so damn hard headed.

2 Esdras 13:39-48, goes into the some of the tribes departing to the Americas and setting up shop there...while I believe three tribes were left in Jerusalem. Anyway, these are the native americans, "indigenous" peoples of latin america and others...

There's also a book about the history of the Native American by James...I want to say Deer...anyway, he notes similar customs and believes them to be descendents of the Israelites.

That last Christopher Columbos movie that came out (the boring one) showed CC using the scriptures to prove there was another land and convince her to let him sail (I think these were the Solomon txts he used, Solomon had ships going all over).

------------

Check out the book from Babylon to Timbuktu. There is an excerpt regarding the Israelites fleeing Roman persecution and hiding in West Africa...which also explains some of the reasons for the slave trade by who we ignorantly believe to be our own people.

-------------

It's a lot of information to digest - Israelites are up and showing everyone that, negroes, native americans, cubans, dominicans, puertoricans, seminole indians, mexicans, west indians, are descended from the 12 Tribes. And that's true, but again, you're going to have mixture, it really is all based on your family line through your father...if you have some color on your pop's side of the family tree, consider yourself fortunate.

Damn, I gotta roll now. Just do some searchin' online, grab some books. You'll figure it out.

as i have an immediate distrust of all things european when i found out what i thought were words from the Most High had king james on the front i did some digging about my faith around the text

i came across videos of Black Israelites speaking on it

these African(s) (americans) were largely ridiculed but mistrust and warryness to european agenda, not directly due to slavery but ofcourse in part, i think you think im afro american but its more due to my country being a former colony of said crackers, made me more inclined to believe them

they spoke about the decendants of slaves in america and south americans being true Israelites and went into things like the khazars being the reason why thats not the universally accepted truth

what they said was compelling and pleasing, whites always try to rub us out, but i took it with a grain of salt for two reasons, 1st because of the exlcusion of Africans as a whole, i felt it was due to the feeling ive encountered among african americans of dislike towards their brothers and sisters on the continent, it saddenes me, makes me think crackers are still winning on that level of "divide them"
the second reason deriving from the first being that i was salty

i thought it best to fall back from line of thinking though as i'd made it about myself rather than about the Truth and the Most High

the main reason for my search for answers is im worried about whether or not there's a heaven for me, i came across fuzzy info saying everyone else was gonna tap that hell fire when the King returns and i'd like this cleared up for me, even though my tribe has always maintained that we are descendants of king solomon i wanna cover my bases

damn, i had to write all that on my playstation, no keyboard

The reason that you had so many different versions of the bible was due to the different monarchies running around trying to run shit their way. The Great Bible, The Bishop's Bible, The Geneva Bible all of which were used in reference for the King James Version 1611 as well as the original Greek and Hebrew. King James was trying to put all that madness down with this would-be definitive ENGLISH translation. In fact Tyndale, who had a hand in translating some of those versions (Geneva for sure) was part of the team of learned men translating.

King James was not a homosexual. That was a lie purported by one of his enemies AFTER his death. Does it make any common sense for a man to have the scriptures translated that damn homosexuality through out as a violation of God's law? No it doesn't, why wouldn't he just have those portions taken out.

On the portion about 'respect your elected officials as
>they have been ordained by God', what scripture is that?

the impact of the dissemination of the testimony of followers who have experience phenomenon they don't understand and therefore put them in a christian framework i.e. prayer, miracles, healings

the impact of people believing it to the point of martyrdom and still more people believe

the impact of the fear and guilt associated with ignoring the faith's tenets and ending up in a pit of torturous fire forever

and all of this despite the many translations, denominations and inquisitions committed against the original texts.

though it seems clear, the answer is clouded, how can one be sure which path is truly right until we die? can't even the most intellectually sound individuals be deceived by entities they know nothing about who masquerade as something benevolent when in fact they are very evil? whats our protection against that? ritual magick?

I just want to thank Aqua for challenging the mindstate of the average Christian without being antagonistic. I have problems with alot of Christian doctrines and even with some passages in the bible. I'm not a Christian, though I am a recovering Catholic and am currently looking to build my relationship and faith in God.

My main conflict that I have in regards to my faith, is defining what exactly is God and what is being executed by humans in God's name. All the corruption/money grubbing/pedophilia can really put a heavy weight on your faith making it hard to ascend. Threads like this really expand my mind.

Thanks also to Trinity for providing an educated religious view.

what catholicism teaches is perverted from what the bible teaches. there are a lot of core similarities, but where it veers off the bible is completely against. now some say catholicism started off okay and was merged with the paganism/mystery relgion, others say it always was. i come from the latter stance yet hold onto the separate entity which was the grassroots christianity done by the followers of Jesus until Rome got involved. I've read numerous accounts and reasons on how the bible's been fabricated but never been able to fully reconcile that as true due to personal experiences and research. That doesn't mean it's not.

If it is not, protestantism then would stand as a separate entity from catholicism attempting to reach its roots. Pentacostalism and fundamentalism have taken additional steps towards that goal. Still I've read about illuminist infiltration into charismatic circles which have influenced churches. Still, the bible may still be a valuable resource for you so don't discount it completely yet.
