If there were actual new ligament damage, the procedure would be far worse than a simple "scope" to repair with the timeline they've released of when he'll be back. Going back to his injury in 2009, he's had it scoped and worked on numerous times. As an ortho described it to me when I tore my meniscus the second time, it just sort of is what it is when you start opening up and draining/scoping knees as an athlete/active person: once you pop, you can't stop. This is just going to be the cycle for him until he retires.
