I just wonder how this will affect his free agency situation. Does he have to go back to GS for the cheap if he doesn't have many suitors?

..if its a torn quad, he'll likely miss another year to rehab.

Not many teams will foot the bill to rehab a player with two major injuries (back to back), without significant history btwn them and the franchise. Even still, there's no telling what the market will look like once he's healthy. None of this bodes well for his next contract.

I'm hoping he has a full recovery.

He'll be in rehab after 6 weeks.

Rehab will last about 4 months. Maybe 6. For me it was 3 and I didn't get it every day. Was going 3 times a week I believe.

11 yrs ago I tore mine (same leg), got hurt April 1st, surgery was on April 19th, was back on the court in September.

I'd say he'll be back around the time he was this season (Jan/Feb) and because he'll have more rehab, the leg should be stronger than mine was. It'll take a few months to feel 'right' but he'll be out there.

Slight possibility he responds really well to rehab in the first two weeks and is potentially on course for around 8 weeks and NBA finals return

Torn quad=bad strain. GMs can now say he is injury prone and I doubt he gets the payday he was after this offseason, but that isn’t as bad of an injury as the last one.

Him and the Warriors should just keep it going. They should offer him a 2yr, 25 mil deal. Let him rehab and give him a more prominent role when he gets healthy.

Seeing as Durant might be gone, Klay needs a re-up and is likely getting the max and Draymond might not be on the roster after 2020...keeping Boogie might help them still have a great shot at the crown next season and season after.

It also allows Boogie to get a raise and hunt for a final big payday in a few yrs (gotta give the warriors a discount for going through 2 rehabs with him).

Maybe after that, depending on the numbers, at 32 he could get a 2-3yr deal near max dollars ($28-32M).

Shame, him and Lil Zeke got hurt at the worst times and then got screwed by their teams.

I think there's something about they can't give much more than the $5mil he made this year...

The Warriors is pretty far over the cap. It would take Durant leaving and then the Warriors finding a way to trade Livingston or Iggy or both to get enough space to sign Cousins next year for anything other than the MLE.

Feel horrible for the guy. Busted his ass to get back. He was very much looking like his old self out there. Now this. Damn.

Best recovery to the man.

Hopefully he goes through whatever he has to go through and ends up in a good situation next year again.
