"NBA Opening Night. LET'S GO"

Basketball is back, baby! In the early game, my team is walking into a hornet's nest and is going to get thoroughly washed. I am beyond annoyed that we get to be the sacrificial lamb to the Boston coronation kick off party, but we just are working too many things out right now (cough cough FULTZ).

In the late game, Dubs will let OKC hang around until halftime, hit the gas, and win by 20.

Neither game will be that good. None of us care. Let's hoop.

and they said he'd be re-evaluated in 4 weeks. After the 4 weeks they said he was progressing but not cleared for contact and tonight would be iffy, then yesterday they said out. I'm good with it. It's game 1 of 82. Steve was "questionable" with lower back soreness, so he's more of a game-time decision.

Do YOU think he stays past this season? I don't man. I'm not gonna try to act like I know where he might go, but I definitely can see him leaving. I think he listens to all the talk...and will want to play on a team where he is solely the man. Just my opinion, doe.

Especially if the Warriors win another chip.

Because, if for no other reason, where is he going to go?

The Lakers? That would fly in the face of him wanting to be the man. He'd be LeBron's caddy down there.

The Knicks? No. Just... no. He's not going from one of the best owners and arguably the best front office to the worst owner and one of the worst front offices. Dolan selling the team would be the only chance. Otherwise, he's not hitching his wagon to that shit-show in its current form.

OKC? That ship sailed when they signed George. And probably was never happening anyway.

The Wizards? He's never shown any interest in playing in his hometown. In fact, he's said explicitly that he doesn't want to play in DC.

So, where else would he go?

Meanwhile, the Warriors are a team that plays the exact type of ball that he likes and has created a team environment that he loves. He knows that this will always be Steph's town, but I haven't seen any evidence that it bothers him at all.

And he's taken less money than he could the last two seasons to allow the team to build. Now, just when he can sign the supermax deal, he's going to start the whole process over again? I seriously doubt it.

None of these sports writers can give a real concrete reason why he'd leave, other than stuff about social media and him being tired of losers talking shit about him signing with the Warriors. These guys think it would be a good story if he went to the Knicks, so they're trying to will it into existence.

I think he likes winning, this team, and the max money too much to leave.

...to keep the core of the team together. That they don't care about the luxury tax and that having four all-stars in their prime is worth the cost.

And there's a good deal of reasons to believe that. This team now makes a shit-load of money. And next year they are opening the new stadium, where they'll make even more money. They can afford it.

However, some speculate that they'll eventually be unwilling to pay THAT much luxury tax. And there's some speculation that IF that day comes, it'll be Draymond who they don't sign.

And I can see that. I love Draymond (he's seriously my favorite guy on the team) and love his defense and the leadeship we brings to the team, but if they sign him to a super-max deal at the end of next season, that means they'll be paying him $50 million on the back end of it. And Draymond brings a lot, but not $50 million worth.

Be I'm optimistic that the team keeps this going as long as possible, while making necessary adjustments along the way.

the Suns preseason game I went to he didn't get a lot of minutes, but he seemed to have the talent to hang on a second team.

Josh Jackson looked like a decepticon tho.

I actually witnessed John Wall give a second effort on defense and not ball watch after his man passed the ball up. True it was a preseason game but I think this early start of actually playing defense might be a positive.

Deepest bench we've had in a while and after seeing Satoransky do a solid starting job last season we're on our way building a team that Scott Brooks can trust. I'm really excited to see Dwight Howard catch lobs and beast down low against the bigs in the East like Embiid and Hassan Whiteside that dominated Gortat last season.

The only question is if they'll play hard against the teams they're supposed to beat.

i can accept almost anything from a young kid, except lack of effort. dude just stood on the wing at the three point land perfectly stantionary while the other dudes ran the offense. i get that it's not laziness but nerves, and i don't care at all. i don't care if you run into three dudes every possession. DO something.

everybody else moves pretty constantly. i doubt brown made a special exception and told the worst three point shooter on the team to pick a spot and stay there.

fultz just doesn't know how to move and cut off the ball yet, and he's anxious, so he's just trying to stay out of the way. that's not gonna cut it.

I've been lying to myself for a while about how this will work out and not to rush to judgement, it's still too early...

I can't do it anymore. Watching Tatum literally makes me sad. He is good-good now and trending towards great. I am going to continue lying to myself though and say his ceiling is limited because of reasons and he will cap out at borderline all-star, second fiddle type on a mid-tier playoff team.

He doesn’t seem to be in contact with anyone. The team, the media, and some speculate his agents.

Everyone expected him to test the waters, but everyone figured he’d sign for another year when he didn’t get an offfer.

I don’t know if he expected the Spurs to offer him a deal or something. It’s just bizarre now.

not sure what he's doing. seems like he's getting bad advice.

....just think of all the niggas 15 years younger
and waaaay more athletic who aren't getting checks
at all, let alone fairly legit first half minutes
on a good team

I expect Shroeder to shrink his minutes considerably
but dude was in at crunch time last year...good for him

Really had one bad five minute stretch, and couldn't put any real distance between us and them after that.

Steph and KD had great games, but I was really impressed with how Damian Jones and Kevon Looney showed out.

Some of the other guys look gassed. Draymond had 13 rebounds, but he was looking pretty exhausted out there.

Still, first time we've been 1-0 since KD got here. Tough 2 road games next. We'll see how those go.

I know he had 20 and 10

But he's able to put his chest into Joel. And when that first move isnt there he struggles

Joel is just really good so keeping him from getting 20-10 is damn near impossible and shouldn't be the measure of success defending him. If you are forcing him to turn it over and not sending him to the line a bunch you did your job.

Provided Horford doesn't suddenly turn into an old man, the Celts have the perfect 1-2 punch to combat Jo for the next couple years in a playoff series. As a Sixer fan that hurts to admit.
