...and the composition is pleasing, if not extraordinary, the photo lacks any meaningful context; while "grittiness" as a contrast to lightness can be useful to illuminate social tensions or power dynamics, where's the grit here? If anything, the seafood shop owner seems to maintain the property quite well. And in any event, what is this juxtaposition supposed to be saying? The woman leaps, but why? What's her motivation? Is there a sale on flounder fillets, for which she is extraordinarily grateful? Or are we to understand her expression as a simple gesture of freedom, perhaps from self-consciousness and inhibition?
