Dunn is decent at the point but the point is a loaded position in the NBA so the difference there will be minimal. WCJ and RoLo are decent defenders with WCJ having some strong above average potential.
Lauri (eh), LaVine (not so eh) and Jabari (Harden?) probably won't be great defenders.
That said, if Hoi can get a decent scheme, it'd minimize the damage.
We SHOULD be able to score with almost anybody though.

cause rolo is not enough. and he's probably gone halfway through the season anyways. and hoiberg doesn't exactly inspire confidence on the discipline front.

You take a guy who's always marched to the beat of his own drum and you take away most of his knee ligaments, you might get some real shit coming out of his mouth. He's never going to be a plus defender, so he doesn't feel like pretending that he'll ever be as good on defense as he is on offense.
He's also a dude praying to stay healthy enough to secure a long-term contract in 2020, and he knows that contract will be predicated on his ability to score-- plenty of guys who score well and can't defend have max or near-max deals, and hardly anyone who defends well and can't score will sniff that money range. Jabari's "I Have Something To Prove" shoulder chip almost certainly centers around trying to drop 18+ PPG, not trying to be a stopper.
(He's also on a team with Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen, and he's got Fred Hoiberg as his coach. Their defensive ceiling was always going to be "average." But a strong offense and an average defense could win plenty of games in the East-- especially if your best defenders are at the point and in the paint.)
The "two defenders ever" thing is a massive cyse, obviously, but I'm not mad at the rest of it-- he's supposed to lie and say "I've got this untapped defense potential, and I'll work every day on" blah blah blah. Whatever, lol. Last year they were 24th in defense but *28th* on offense. If they wanted someone for their tough wing defense, they wouldn't be spending 20 mil a year on *him.*

It was extra and I responded extra. I almost dismissed it as scarcasm, which would have been fine, but...nah. I FEEL Nick was seriously calling Jabari’s unnecessarily philosophical justification of his new salary “shitty behavior.” That is ridiculous.

Fultz keep releasing dunk videos that are 1/10th as interesting as Zion’s dunk videos. And I’ve seen Zion shoot and make a jumper this summer. Can’t say that about Fultz.

It’d be one thing if Wendell said this. But with Jabari, yeah, my agendas currently begin and end with “stay healthy” and I’ll make excuses for anything else. The potential is there for a good scorer, but for the next three years, I’m clenching my whole body every time he jumps. So yeah, an anti-defense comment with a cyse or two doesn’t move my Jabari needle.
Now don’t let *Marvin* say this. Marvin CAN be a good defender.

I just don't see why admitting that you're not getting paid for your defensive prowess (or lack thereof) is that big a deal-- especially when he still said in the interview that he's still trying on the defensive end-- but I like the guy and I'm rooting for him, so I guess I'll chill and let everyone else have their fun.

Stay healthy and get buckets my dude. Only play D in crunch time when we trying to close it out and be at least an average team defender.
I'm good with that, win or lose (so we can get another Duke guy next summer).

I really didn't think I was going to like the dish, but MAN! It was so delicate, so so .....Zesty. And it was a substantial cut of meat that they used, so its not like its a tablespoon of sirloin. And the waiter paired it with a Lagrein (kinda like a Syrah) that had just the right amount of bite to it. Its not a meal you would get regularly, but I am going to go back at some point to experience it again.
