Hell, they got a squad already and still have cap space.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

I love when not making the playoffs and having the worst record of any team in the past 5 years equates to "they got a squad!"

5 years ago LA was a mess under a difference front office with none of these current players.

The current front office has done a great job of laying the groundwork to make this an enticing situation for a star free agent to join. Valuable talented young players on good contracts abound. The opportunity for improvement is immense.

Lakers have had the worst winning % of any team in the past 5 years. No spin involved there.

Yes - but if you're LeBron James you don't join a team that has "opportunity for immense improvement" -- you join the Lakers because it's L.A. - and because Magic Johnson is running things in a competent way - *and* because they aren't done. Kawhi is coming.

Bron gonna be 34 in December, and I’m in record as not believing in their young guys. I think Ingram and Ball top out as borderline all stars, and kuzma and hart as role players. So the question becomes can a fading LeBron, Kawhi, somebody like Klay, and the young guys beat Golden State now and the Celtics, Sixers, or whoever else in the future?

in the league and a compete and a slight notch below GS.

smh a fading 35 year old lebron might still be the best player in the league.

if KD has a wandering eye too hence the singing of the 1+1 deal.

That Warriors team could be a LOT different after next summer.

Kalypsos already said he would probably take a team friendly deal and GS had bird right for KD after next year. Y’all are funny as fuck thinking a team that will probably going to 3-peat is just going to chuck dueces to play with someone they beat the last two probably 3 years.

For what? There's a good chance he'll three-peat with the Warriors. What incentive would have to join the Lakers?

And Lakers fans acting like Klay somehow yearns to play in LA is also funny to me. Again, for what? Hometown appeal? He grew up in Oregon and went to college in Southeast Washington. To be close to his father? The same father who's telling everyone who'll listen that Klay is going to re-sign with the Warriors in 2019?

What EC team is going to trade valuable assets for Kawhi knowing that he's gone in a year?

Lakers have considerable young talent and are willing to deal it for Kawhi -- and most importantly -- they have the leverage since Kawhi has made it clear he'll be going to L.A. in 2019 if he's not already there by this summer.

They still talking about trying to poach KD and Klay = 0

I predict conflict with LeGM and Rob Lowe Magic

That roster today is a 2nd round exit

YUGE improvement for a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 5 years

They'll keep improving, but I don't see them coming out of the west until GS breaks up their 4

Even with Kawhi.
