I see no outrage in this post. This idea is corny and people are laughing at it. I don't see why I should care that ESPN is doing it for ratings and PG is doing it to help his image. That describes everything and also doesn't make it less corny.

I caught it by accident last night. Had ESPN on eating dinner. Didn't realize it was schedule to air.

It's nothing to get too emotional over. The first ep goes through him feeling he was going to be a Pacer for life then breaking his leg and watching the franchise trade away or let go of all the players around him resulting in him not feeling like this was the place he was gonna be able to win a championship.

He told Indiana he wasn't going to re-sign because he didn't want to play another year there knowing he was going to leave and he figured they'd trade him.

He and his family (his mom, girlfriend and a couple sisters were interviewed) talk about how great OKC was in welcoming them.

Meanwhile the whole time he's in LA at some camp with his agent who he describes as having a big brother/little brother relationship with.

Like I said, this is nothing that deserves outrage or celebration, it's an interesting few minutes of TV for 3 weeks. If I catch the next ep by accident again I'll watch, if I miss it (I likely will) I miss it.

He mentions at one point in the doc he just wants to be around players who want to win a championship and aren't just happy to have a roster spot. It seems like the better fit for him at this point is LA.

OKC is stuck with Carmelo this year and going forward have to build around a player who is kind of proving to be a guy who can put up crazy numbers but not able to go deep at all in the playoffs.

Looking at the rosters right now, yeah OKC has the better roster, but Lakers are favorites in adding Bron this summer and likely will add Kawhi next summer. If his goal is a championship that's where he would rather be for sure.

not saying OKC doesn't too, but it's silly to think the Laker players dont.

You do know that Kuz's rookie year is comparable to PG's third year, right?

In fact, Kuz's rookie year that compares well to with the second or even third year of PG, Jimmy Butler, Giannis, and Kawhi.

Both BI and Kuz compare favorably to each of those guys at similar stages in their careers.

Kawhi's coming back from an odd injury situation.

PG isn't exactly an alpha dog. He's definitely a great player but it's perfectly reasonable le to bet that at least one of, if not both, BI and Kuz will be a reasonable approximation of PG

It's cute and all to say you never understood why lakers fans were hated until you saw it said that we're better off without getting LBJ, PG and Kawhi.....as long as you're pretending this is being said in a vacuum and without context.

Yes, gutting assets for a guy who could leave in a year is a gamble. It's less of a gamble to rock with our young wings, who are reasonable bets to improve to a reasonable degree in a year that was actually pretty solid for both.

I mean, sure it's fun to pretend that lakers fans actually think we'll be a better team *this* year by standing pat without them, and aren't actually looking ahead to the ling term health of the franchise while projecting their forward a couple years.

The notion that it's hateable to advocate for, you know, patience, ith an eye toward a long view, instead of looking for instant gratificaton.

The Lakers don't NEED to be in a "blow it up" situation right now. They whiffed on NyQuil but they can afford to wait.

His decision has brought me to the Thunder Train.
