When Boston brought KG and Ray Allen to Boston, people complained.

Then when LeBron and Bosh joined Miami, Boston fans complained.

Then when KD joined that Warriors, LeBron fans complained.

However, I do feel secure in knowing that if the Warriors win, and if that causes LeBron to leave and join Houston or Philly or Boston or whoever, I won't complain, because the Warriors will beat them anyway.

I was the loudest one against the Heatles and rooted for all of their losses.

If LeBron had gone to the CELTICS and done this shit? that would put him on equal footing.

KD is a turdmunching snake, no two ways about it.
he has put this whole move in perspective.

they were a near-indefensible force in the NBA, until LeBron broke them. two straight Finals.

Miami was a first-round exit team.

that dude is not comparable to LeBron. He is Ray Allen 2.0.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

Get ready for the lame argument that the Heat were terrible the prior year and LeBron going there was a benevolent act to rescue a dying franchise with a roster of scrubs. We’ll conveniently leave out the fact he was arriving to a situation with two of the top 5 draft picks from his class as well. Oh let’s not forget the 4 former all stars and former ROY on that squad as well. 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫

I hope my posts are still archived.

I won't even waste time typing paragraphs on KD, because he only needs half a bar: HE A HOE.

and remember: LeBron didn't join the team that eliminated him in the playoffs (that went on to the Finals).

Ray Allen did.

even in snake moves, you can't compare LeBron to Kevin "Not Better Than Kobe" Durant

It's not like Lebron joining the Heat.

right - or like Malone joining the Bulls after losing twice in the Finals.

It's not at all like LeBron building a dynasty from the ground up with a team that was an 8th seed and got swept the year prior.

But obviously these cats are hurt and are desperately clinging to any narrative that devalues LeBron James.

That changes the point of this post, you should have said that instead because it sure sounds like you're speaking about a made up for your point wide group of people.

More specifically you meant Heat fans who are complaining about the Warriors by "ya'll"....that's like a real specific bunch, feels like you could just PM those couple people.

for calling him all season to set it up

>about the Warriors having a "superteam" when Lebron started
>the player-created superteam era.

GS was already a "superteam" through the dumb luck of drafting, injuries delaying contract hangups, and signing FA roleplayers that hit

KD ring chased and slid into an established "superteam"

Miami was not "established" in 2010

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

a team that had gone to 2 straight Finals with two top-tier shooters, undisputed MVP, Finals MVP, and a highly-efficient donkey, all of whom are All-Stars or similarly regarded, that broke the regular season wins record is not a "superteam"?

Ok, that's it, I'm outta here.

there is a difference between two dudes from two different teams going to join another dude on a team that won 43 and 47 games, respectively, the two previous seasons and one dude going to a team full of dudes that won 73 games that same season and lost in the Finals in 7 games and won the Finals a year prior....OH...and said dude had said team down 3-1 in the conference finals and had THREE chances to advance and couldn't get it done. I don't even hate GS or Durant, but it's silly to even compare the two moves.

seeing as how you're an OKC fan I understand how you can feel differently.

Bottom line is KD didn't think he could win with Russ so he went somewhere he could.

Just like Lebron didn't think he could win in Cleveland the first time, in Miami, and now in Cleveland again.

Lebron started this mercenary shit. Signing one year deals and holding franchises hostage. He is the blueprint for this era.

he had just lost to them in the playoffs but its not like they were bitter rivals or something that was the only time the ever played the Warriors in the playoffs. For all we know KD had already made up his mind that he was leaving and the Warriors had been on his list all along.

KD '16 ain't do nothing that bron '10 didn't do. he just did it BETTER.

ppl whose logic is "well, the 2 situations aren't EXACTLY the same, so that makes them COMPLETELY different"... well, yeah. you're right. KD did it waaaaay better.

picked a better team, with younger all-stars, whose games and personalities complemented one another perfectly.

he took bron's methodology, and IMPROVED on it. when bron was talking that "not 3, not 4, not 5" shit? this, this GS dynasty, is what he was envisioning. KD just did it better.

and i have no issue whatsoever with either move. we (fans and media) are the ones who created the "hegemony of #RINGZ" culture, they're just reacting to it. put yourself in the absolute best position to get jewelry, fuck what ppl think.

if you defended bron '10 and shit on KD '16, you're a hypocrite. period. or you're an asshurt bron fan who doesn't *really* have a problem with stacked teams, you just want bron to be the one with the stacked team.

>KD '16 ain't do nothing that bron '10 didn't do

...except join his arch-rival who just gutted him in the WCF (after being up 3-1). lol - it's really not hard to differentiate. KD joined his rival who just destroyed him in the WCF - and KD was one inch away from getting to his 2nd Finals w/ OKC. They had the guns to win - and that title would've been way more rewarding than the 2 he's won with GS.

Bron never joined his arch rival - never joined the team who he couldn't beat - never did the 'well, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em' game.

They are simply not the same. The more apt comparison would be Moses Malone joining Dr. J in Philly in '83. But that's not even a very good comparison because Philly was a very good team prior to Moses joining. They made the Finals and won 58 games in '82. Miami got trashed as an 8th seed and were in danger of being a lottery team.

But yes - let's just say "it's the exact same move!" and be simple about it.

i didn't say they were exactly the same (they aren't -- KD did it better)

but they aren't completely different either.

they gonna try to tell you KD was worse because GSW was 73-9 so clearly he took the sweeter road.

BUT, clearly, when Bron and them was talking that "not 1, not 2, not...blah blah blah" that THEY (meaning Bosh, Wade and Bron) thought they were creating a situation just as good or better. i mean, they were on a stage telling people the rest of the league might as well go on vacation for the next 7 seasons.

so, FOH to those Bron stans trying to say it wasn't the same. it was.

Wade and Bosh didn't have enough help...

Lebron definitely left a ring on the table on Miami losing to he the Worst NBA finals team in the modern era...

And Ray Allen saved him from being 1 for 4 there...

y'all simpletons wanna make it "he had to get out of an unwinnable situation, same as LeBron". NOPE.

there is a difference between:

colluding with your buddies to form a superteam which ain't won shit to win shit

and ring-chasing

and how those two different methods to obtaining rings are perceived.

only someone with shit between their ears who only cares about "the rings" Cuban Bs all of that

fuck that shit. If LeBron was ring chasing the way KD did, the talking heads would NEVER let him live that down

KD goes to Boston, beats Bron, then beats GS, people would sice him until the end of time.

he ring chased. and also broke the league in the process, returning it to 1990s Bulls(hit). only Jordan-slurpers wanna see that shit.

I hated the Heat, damn sure hate GS, but the reasons are far different.

The Heat was because: LeBronies, flopping, and trolling
GS is: Donkeylips, Steph being slick, their dumb luck, and now the KD cherry on top.

take off your "OKC stole my team" glasses for a min and LOOK

No dog in the fight. So a declaration or boast of what he "intended" to do is the same as actually breaking the record for the most wins in a season and actually winning the title the year before. Miami either did not even make the playoffs or never made it out the first round from 07 - 10. Bron and Bosh went to Miami with hopes of doing something.

It wasn't like he had to wonder if they were going to be a championship caliber team - the team was proven.

There was nothing proven about the 2007, 2008, 2009, or 2010 Miami Heat - they were abysmal in the 4-year stretch prior to Bron's arrival.

>Stop trying to make Miami pre-the-big-three matter. It didn't.

You're right - it didn't matter for LeBron - because he knew he could turn any team into a contender - as he's proven time and time again. So it really didn't matter that the Heat were trash prior to Bron's arrival.

For KD? It absolutely mattered. He wasn't going to join an average team - he joined the greatest front-running team in history - it's the easy road but that doesn't mean he's not great (he is) - nor does it mean Golden State isn't a true dynasty (they are) - but it's different from other dynasties we've seen. The great Celtics team didn't concede that needed more and recruit Wilkins. The Bulls dynasty didn't feel threatened and feel like they needed Ewing or Malone. The Warriors weren't comfortable with their makeup because of one reason: LeBron James. And KD knew he wasn't going to beat LeBron unless he joined the Warriors - so it's a smart decision by them both - but also a concession that they couldn't beat him straight up.

Draymond actually talked about this during a portion of his speech in that post-season parade when Golden State won last year. Pretty wild that he chose to talk about LeBron causing Golden State to re-up with Durant, but I guess that partial speaks to him competitive he is for LeBron to occupy his thoughts while he's literally on stage celebrating a championship.

after you won a title and then 73 games. Warriors knew they were wearing down from 3 straight finals appearances (imagine going to 8 straight?) - and Draymond knew they had to have even more firepower if they were going to beat LeBron. Really is a testament to how great he really is -- these cats wanted nothing to do w/ facing him again without two prime league MVPs and 4 future Hall of Famers

I've been seeing it as a karma situation throughout this whole strectch of him facing the Warriors (4 straight years). His own actions, prior, are affecting his legacy today.

He set the table, but don't like the food.

peace.

Dream, Chuck, and Pip

Shaq, Kobe, Malone, and Payton

GSW SHOULD have lost to Houston this year. They let those motherfuckers off the hook.

And even though this Finals series is a wash, Cleveland had that motherfucking Game 1, which would've changed EVERYTHING.

It is still goddamned hard to win a championship, no matter how a team is assembled in the summer.

Just because KD did it better, does not mean that he did it first. For that matter, neither did Lebron.

These old motherfuckers can talk all this shit now that they're done playing, but if the CBA had allowed for this type of flexibility you can motherfucking guarantee more of them would have taken advantage of these opportunities.

lol are we really comparing the above "superteams" to this GSW team? Come on - let's get real. The 3 aforementioned teams featured older guys way out of their prime who were role players at the time. KD & Curry are in-their prime MVPs along with 2 other in-their prime Stars.

It's ok to acknowledge that we've never seen a superteam assembled like this - it doesn't mean it's "cheating" or bad (depending on your perspective) - but let's at least acknowledge it for what it is: unprecedented stacking of talent.

>So Bron, Wade and Bosh weren't in their primes?

Wade was still in his relative prime in 2011 - then saw rapid drop-off from 2012-2014. By the end of the Miami run - Wade was a shell of himself. Bosh was in his prime.

But you didn't mention them - you mentioned expired stars in their last years ring-chasing to compare.

More importantly - the differentiation is not just whether they're in their prime - but also the context of rivalry. Bosh was never a rival to Wade or LeBron - and vice versa. Toronto had no history with Cleveland or Miami - and vice versa.

Durant & GSW had bad blood and were competing as arch-rivals for top slot of the West - then immediately adjoin forces after the war.

That's what makes this unique. Not hard to see.

The richness in you saying that there's no such thing as rivals in today's game is hilarious. If Bron had joined Boston in 2009 you would've upped 27 posts on here in a frenzy. KD does it and you're like "meh everybody's friends tho"

I think he's enjoying his off-court life as much (if not more) than he enjoys playing the game. He's in the hotbed of VC activity and the lifestyle in general is probably making him want to stay - and the way he's cruised to back to back 'chips makes it an easy decision.

All that being said - I'd take the odds on any wager that asks whether he stays in GS for the remainder of his career. I think he leaves in 2020.

Or if they’d wish hard enough with a heart that’s pure, the gods would make it so, like at the end of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

that Klay has already said he'll sign a team friendly deal when it comes time to re-up. I believe he said this sometime around last season. I do wonder if he'll actually keep his word since I have to imagine a at least one team will throw top dollars at him.

I suppose the theory is that Curry and Durant will get max contracts and Klay and Draymond will fall in line at get team friendly deals.
