"Durant a fraud"

He still gonna take Lebron's ever-thinning scalp and pin it to the wall this year, same as last but he is a fraud.

He was ready to lose last night, and to go down quietly at that.

I been watching him…the isos, the dribbling off his knee in clutch moments, fadeaway after fadeaway missed over PJ Tucker! I know Russ was like mmmmmhmmmm I seen this before!

Like, your team needs you, it's game 7 and you scared to bring it to PJ Tucker? Niggas rebounding over you and dunking on you and you just standing around like oh well?

If Steph didn't step up and get them that lead…Durant was ready to go home with an L.

Great player, but I really wonder about this guy sometimes and frankly, I liked the old GS team better.

Still rooting Warriors in the Finals

This is that Trump shit, say something vague so you can move goalposts later, or claim any line of argument at all.

But okay, I'll play.

Where exactly is the hypocrisy in criticizing Durant, or even full-on calling him out, and rooting for the team he plays on when they play a team I really don't like?

He made the right move by going to a team that could do the heavy lifting for him where he just has to be a piece of a championship team.

He's not a fraud - he just doesn't want to embrace the challenge of being *the* guy to lead a team to a 'chip. No harm in that - only a handful of guys in the game's history are up for that.

Let's not forget this HOU team was constructed to beat the GSW

So while you're kee keeing the PJ Tuckers of the world

That's exactly why HOU got him
Luc
Ariza
PJ

Those are great defenders

and CLE doesn't have those guys

I'll wait a couple of weeks to warm up the oil on KD

scoring
minutes
even his shooting percentages were better

your link also stipulates...'curry was on the floor with durant 80% of the time'...so I'm not sure your plus/minus is the end all be all

I can't believe you want to devolve into a debate about the 2017 finals MVP

it was clearly, in every way outside of your advanced stats, KD.

He hit a lot of key shots down the stretch in the 4th quarter to keep Houston from making a late push. Not gonna kill him. It wasn't some epic clutch performance but he did what he needed to do to shut the door. That's all you can ask for..

if not next year - the year after. I don't think KD is playing joyful basketball like he used to. I think he probably enjoys living in The Bay and his off-court life - but his body language and overall demeanor on the court is very different. He also seems to be Draymond's whipping boy and too often comes across like the follower on this team. I think he came to GS to win titles - but I don't see him staying long-term. He has a level of fatigue on his face and he'll have renewed motivation by going to another team where the challenge & risk/reward is more abundant and rewarding.

I think KD's ideal Free Agency move is to go to home to Washington - take an average playoff team and turn them into a contender (much like LeBron did with his move to Miami). The reward there if he wins is *huge* - and would completely change the narrative and trajectory of his career.

up with a younger SF (Beal or Oubre) to run with Steph, Klay, and Draymond? Porter or Oubre could evolve into the a younger version of Iggy.

And having Durant with Beal and Wall would be interesting. Durant would have to still play the same role because it is Wall's team.

And he would get back to playing joyful basketball and not trying to be a faux enforcer/tough guy - and just ball in a situation where people would root for him again.

>And having Durant with Beal and Wall would be interesting.
>Durant would have to still play the same role because it is
>Wall's team.

There's no way KD wouldn't be the leader on Washington. It's his home-town, and he'd be coming to them with a championship pedigree and the hunger to be the guy. Also - adding KD to Washington would feature a relatively similar dynamic to playing in GS - he'd be paired with two other all-star guards - one prolific shooter/sniper (Beal) - and would have a very real chance of winning it all.

8th seed that got swept, missed the playoffs entirely the year prior - and were on the brink of utter mediocrity.

Little bit different from joining a 73-win team that won the title the year prior.

How about when he went full OKC-iso in the first half and was bricking? Then not hustling back, not attacking the basket, and getting absolutely killed on the boards and abused on defense?

As I said above, he is a flattrack bully.

If you are rolling, Durant is like pouring gas on any fire you got going.

But game 7 and you are down, he is going to shrink, not expand.

Bron will hit a dagger 3 down on the road before Durant does, but Durant in the far better shooter…something you should recognize as an early proponent of the "Klang" handle

He is less of a fraud and more of a flattrack bully.

If you got the lead and shit is clicking, he gonna eat and the other team is going to get unholy fire rained on them.

But if you are in trouble, and shit isn't working, he is going to brick a fadeaway or dribble off his foot.

Kevin Durant is arguably as good as LeBron James, but there is no doubt who you want when things get tight,

If I needed someone to handle the ball/take last shot, and I'm down in a deciding playoff game logic says I should pick Durant over anyone in the league.

But he wouldn't be in my top 5 choices.

Him, Harden and Westbrook all got the same disease when they were on that team together.

That's true too.

But no, I meant, an alpha player who finds ways to shrink when the pressure is on.

That's why tiny ass Steph had to pull them out the flames last night.

That's why he dribbled off his foot and lost Game 7 to the Warriors to begin with.

He is a really tall Ray Allen, there are certainly worse things.

It's like everyone forgot when the Thunder had a 3-1 lead on the Warriors and KD folded up like a Russian Cream Bluntville.

Last two games of that series he was awful in the clutch.

Oh yeah but Westbrook fault and he hit that shot on Bron, so never mind all that.

No, because Steph is on his team...so how could he ever get the change to "get it done" w/out Steph. you posting REAL dumb and reactionary. FWIW, he did carry the Dubs ever time Steph was injured the last two seasons. He also busted Cleveland's ASS last year, regardless of whatever Steph was doing on the court.

i get it, you've suddenly decided you hate Durant. it's fine...there's plenty of you guys on the board. but shit, at least be real.

Whose fault is it they choked away two fourth Q's against the Warriors?

I say Durant AND Westbrook.

That is what EVERYONE said at the time.

But now…because Durant hit some shots last year for a loaded Warriors squad, we can't talk bout that?

Why not?

Westbrook still getting cooked in hot grease. Maybe he should have gone to play for the Cavs.

i'm gonna say this then i'll let everyone else fry you: the times where KD looked bad in this series happen to coincide with them being down because the TEAM wasn't doing what it needed to do to 1) be ahead in the game 2) thus, make KD look good. that's some credit to what Houston was doing to GSW and some discredit to how Kerr was coaching.

but what *I* saw was, especially in the games GSW lost, KD was out there pouring his game out trying to give it all he had even when the writing was CLEARLY on the wall, while a few of his teammates (steph a couple game, klay a couple games) were not.

also, when you're down by double digits in Game 7 of the WCF...it's okay to look nervous. you'd be nervous too.

KD was getting beaten up badly on the boards in first half of game 7.

Capela was eating his lunch going to the basket, PJ Tucker was scoring as well. Durant was pointed out as being out of position or a step late on defense repeatedly by announcers.

KD was also playing iso ball and not going to basket, not hitting shots, not getting back.

That's what I had an issue with. Anyone can miss shots.

Yeah, well that's why their is an UPPPER, UPPER echelon for some players.

That's why when Dirk bossed up and won his title, I couldn't talk as much shit about him as I could before.

I actually like KD's game. HE FROM THE URREA. I want him to be on LeBron's level!

But he's not. Not quite.

by calling Durant a fraud. your point that he isn't a go to guy when his team is losing has valid points. he can definitely be a beta male too often, but that doesn't make him a fraud. Durant hit shot after shot last night to keep GS in front.

He definitely did that.

Is it okay to talk about him beyond or outside the scope of that particular moment?

Because the year before he was terrible in the clutch when he was THE MAN in OKC.

Nobody is trying to say Durant is just some guy. But if Nowitzki did what he did, I would fry him too, and I have.

Nowitzki had Jason Terry and Caron Butler not Steph Curry, the "league's best 2 guard" and OKP HOF-erDraymond Green

first half.

and since iggy went down, basically.

i can understand if he's fatigued (who ain't at this point) and got caught resting a time or two, but getting consistently pushed around and not showing effort in some heated moments is a bad look.

when his fadeaway is hitting, it's deadly, but he has GOT to go to the rim.

for this entire series harden, cp3 and gordon muscled and shouldered and elbowed the fuck out of warriors defenders, and got to the line. durant had harden on him a lot and didn't take advantage to blow past him and go to the rim. granted he got pushed a LOT on drives, and it was mostly uncalled and he still made some tough finishes, but his response largely was to give up and settle for deeper shots and less contact. if you're a transcendent physical talent, you can't do shit like that. especially on them nights when steph AND klay was playing mad average.

more troubling was the non boxing out against tucker (you're tall, you got to bend your knees and anchor to not get pushed off the block by a dude w/ a lower center of gravity). and he was also damn near useless on help defense (when he wasn't guarding capela -- we know leaving him means a lob dunk) when he'd kind of meander and come in late and whatever rocket was getting buckets.

i don't know wtf was on his mind this series, but he has GOT to be dialed in and dominant vs 'bron.

one thing crazy about the celtics and rockets series was that both featured short-handed superstars with a lot of mileage on 'em.

i would have thought that the c's would have switched to get bron matched up on defense and drove at him (especially when he hit four fouls but even before that) to make him work hard on both ends. you don't even have to shoot, if his defense was that good. just drive AT him make him defend physically and run, and then kick. but wear him down. nope.

and in the gsw game, i figured they would do the same vs harden, who is not in the same solar system as bron as a defender. steph was going at his neck and getting buckets in game 2. w/ the rockets only playing 7 deep for the series, i'd have been taking advantage of the switches and having cats drive and attack and making him even more worn down.

whoever draws bron as a defender (prolly kd) is gonna HAVE to not let him conserve any energy on defense by going at him.

peace & blessings,

He is what I said he is; a flattrack bully

That's what this is the perfect team for him. He just gotta show up when the pressure is off.

He is still a great player. Tall Ray Allen.

Let's just not put him on Bron level.

And I'm glad Bron lost HAHAHAHAHA

As they should be!

But Tall Ray Allen doesn't get put on same level as Bron, or Tim Duncan for that matter.
