-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

I’ve been hoping he’d get out of OKC for awhile. That offense is a hard watch. They can find a younger, cheaper, better defender who can go stand in the corner and occasionally shoot a 3 since that’s all they’re looking for their other perimeter players to do on offense.

Melo can still be a viable player. He just has to change his opinion of what he is as a player, at this point. He could be similar to Miami Heat Ray Allen, imo.

And still going to Springfield.

And still a scoring champ.

also that was low-key the most pathetic melo moment last season (plenty to choose from), when heading into the season the sneaker press reported that the M13 was the last Melo signature shoe and he made it a point to deny it. and then no m14 came out. i mean responding to sneaker twitter is a little suspect, lying in your response to say some shit is in the works when it isn't is really suspect. i gotta say though the melo line low key had some great performers and in my view is underrated.

to go well. Which for someone who was the go to offensive player on his team for 13-14 years? That’s an adjustment. He’s gotta find a way to make it work, and he’s gotta get on the right team. He can still play on the offensive end when he’s got his legs and rhythm.

screamin a made the point the other day. as close as melo and bron are, he and chris are even better friends. he also was almost a rocket last offseason, and they did just lose trev.

i still don't see (like, AT ALL) how he works in that system but i guess we'll find out.

when they’re in the midst of going from up 15 to down 30 because they keep shooting and missing 3’s every single possession.

And also perhaps gives them a better balance on offense in terms of how they get their points. On that team, with those guards and shooting, he should be able to kill it in the mid range when he’s got it going because there’s a lot of space in there. An underrated aspect of the Warriors offense because the 3’s and spacing makes it all go by stretching the D, but they do a lot of damage in the mid range too.

Defensively, it’s obviously a big downgrade from Ariza though.

James or Chris drive and kick out to the three. Melo isn't going to be able to get the ball at the elbow and jab step his man to death, take two dribbles and pullup. He's gonna have to be waiting on the wing for the kickout. Not saying he can't do that, but that's what he said he didn't want to do last season. He won't be handling the ball...not with Harden on the floor...and he doesn't want to come off the bench. Ionno...maybe Pringles nem' convince him.

that they re-signed Fatman Scoop Raymond Felton so quickly in the off-season. If my memory is accurate, they re-signed Felton well before Paul George made his decision.

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/24141942/oklahoma-city-thunder-trade-carmelo-anthony-atlanta-hawks-dennis-schroder-mike-muscala

The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to trade Carmelo Anthony and a protected 2022 first-round pick to the Atlanta Hawks for point guard Dennis Schroder and Mike Muscala, league sources tell ESPN.

Anthony will be waived, making him a free agent. The Houston Rockets are the front-runner, sources told ESPN.

Muscala, meanwhile, will be moved onto a third team in the near future, sources said.

The 2022 pick is protected 1-14, and becomes two second-round picks if not conveyed in one year.

OKC gets a rotation player and a bench warmer. Atlanta saves 20+ million and gets them cap space sooner, plus a first. Not really thrilled with the Sixers' end here but they didn't give up much or take on salary beyond this season

May you bond with Russ over fashion and find new teammates to try to ruthlessly dominate in comically overcompetitive games of UNO (god I miss the 60 win team).

Win-win for everybody. Hawks get a ton of cap space after this season and a first after more tanking. OKC gets a super competitive point guard to give Russ a breather (I got tons of complaints on Dennis over the years but being the main option on a tanking team isn't going to play to his strengths) and get Melo off the books. Melo gets PAID to go anywhere he wants.
