Like Liverpool, love Klopp, couldn't be happier for Momo and his success, but we have an that improbable Cinderella story thing going on.

I have no idea what the right approach here would be since I think going pragmatic at Anfield would be suicide. Just get the ball to Dzeko.

+ Liverpool wins it, then it would be a travesty for him not to get it. But if RM win and Portugal get through theirs (not a cinch) then Ronaldo has the Ballon. Any other scenario who knows

Germany or Spain winning would not really put a player forward (though perhaps Ramos would have a decent claim). Similarly if Brazil get it I'm not sure Ney-ney would be a shoo-in, considering his PSG production.

At least this is all true in the old voting mode, nowadays it's more of a popularity contest, which is why it's basically turned into Ronaldo v Messi

but neymar winning + a decent start of the season w/PSG would be plenty.
Griezmann for France could sneak in.
De Bruyne for Belgium.
Kane for England.

i don't expect these, but they'd all have a good chance at ballon d'or if their team wins the world cup.

I can understand wanting to press Liverpool and score early. Almost worked (flukey as it was).

But, fuck, pretty gotdamn obvious that the 3 man highline with Kolarov and Florenzi offering no support was suicidal around, oh, MINUTE 30 OR SO.

Kudos to Liverpool. Props to Mo. Wonderful run for us, shame it ends this way.

this year probably the best combo of decision making + execution i've seen in an attacker since messi came around.

he gotta win the CL to get that BDO though.
i cant see Liverpool beating either team but esp not RM.

Especially one who plays aggressive, up-tempo, attacking soccer. Nobody wants to watch that crap.

Add all that to the lively, opinionated press conferences, and yeah—he's tough to like, easy to hate.

Last few matches he was absolutely carving up defenses while connecting with the front 3.

How many guilt edge chances do you need? And on the other end, as they’re like to do and what makes them so dangerous, Real was clinical.

Certainly not over but Bayern could have really given themselves serious margin heading into the Bernabeau.

I know Atleti is favored by many to win, but could the Gunners try to give Arsene a parting gift?

Marseille has had a really good month, they never seem to make things easy but getting to the final would be a just reward. Even Payet is playing decent and is somehow in the mix for the WC (unrelated, so is Mathieu fucking Debuchy!!!)

With the tying goal coming late on Kosc getting bodied and Mustafi slipping. Does it get any more arsenal.

Ronaldo a total ghost? No matter, Benzema plays his best game in years. Zidane whiffs on selecting Vazquez i/o Casemiro. Ramos not up to par? Varane steps up. Oh and Navas, who gets unbelievable shit on the regular in Madrid (Bein showed a video of some team event this weekend where he gets dissed by fans and Flo Perez defends him with the absolute bare minimum), was easily MOTM today.

They just have a collective wherewithal that is unmatchable. Bayern was arguably the better team over the 2 games, yet Real never seem to panic or get too angry, almost like they believe the other team is gonna slip up and give them that half-inch they need. And somehow, they do.

I'm 120% hoping their run ends with a loss on May 26, but it's impossible not to respect what they're doing.
