"Weekend Soccer 04.07-08: Pep Rally"

While City got taken to the proverbial tool shed by Liverpool on Wednesday, it's tough to see what exactly United could glean from that game in preparation for tomorrow's derby. Liverpool went at City with the gusto and fury of Thor on cocaine, not letting them breathe during a devastating first 30minutes. United under Mourinho have had some success, possibly more than many expected actually, but attacking bravado was rarely the reason for it. Still, their lineup contains few slouches and a judicious use of players like Martial, Mata or Rashford could result in another surprise. However is that the way Jose will want to go? A Mancunian clash is never anodyne, but dare I assert without any fact-checking whatsoever that none have resulted in a title clinch before.

Earlier the Merseyside derby will happen, though it'll lack a bit in the stakes seen in Manchester, especially as Liverpool are widely expected to want to save their energy for the return leg at City next week.

i was surprised to see that. i've heard from people who follow the German league that Tuchel is not easy to work with so im surprised PSG went with him.

locker-room clans has been an issue at the club since forever, and I don't know if Tuchel has the right experience to deal with that, but I'm hoping his ideas on how to play the game will appeal broadly within the squad.
We'll have some deadweight (of the winger variety) to get rid of this summer, and that's what worries me most. Wonder what the club told Tuchel he would get as spending money this summer, considering all the FFP stuff

still would like a serious run at Kante (or Fabinho), Oblack and I wouldn't say no to Malcom.

We have a lot of good pieces already, just hoping we find good a good landing spot for Pastore and if Neymar has to go it's at 300mil (could happen if he has a great WC)

not because I'm scared of it, but rather because barca fans will talk about it far, far too much and the barca board will likely buy someone expensive in a panic reaction. I already don't want Greizmann, although 100 mil is cheap for him in this market (where the fuck do you play him, messi, luis suarez, dembele, iniesta and coutinho??!?).

The title race has been over since November. Last week feels like the top 4 got decided. So let’s get fired up for the FA cup relegation and promotion I guess.

Feel like that changes next season though. These late season Sunday morning “arsenal v who cares” matches with nothing at stake are killing me this year

they end up having a lot of overlapping games on the main network but if you have their bonus channels they show everything.

like last week i think they had juve/???, monaco/psg cup final and barca/sevilla all on at the same time. and they'd do a lot of pop-in coverage in big moments.

edit: actually you cant blame this on them. they just have so many tv rights that they're bound to conflict.
