"Spain is gonna win the WC"

sure anything can always happen in a Cup, and Germany/Brazil might have a shot as well, but these Spaniards are looking scary as hell right now

also, Didier Deschamps fucking sucks

probably too late (and from what I read they weren't that bad, Spain were just...that good), but would make for an interesting development in the silly Dybala saga

Honestly outside of Brazil the CONMEBOL teams are not that strong. I am still surprised Chile did not qualify. Colombia has good players but not enough depth or consistency. Brazil is nice though, real nice.

I still wish they didn't win 2010. But it's not just that, it always seems like Spain gets talked up since then, maybe I just notice it in TV coverage, but it annoys me and I enjoy seeing them falter.

I'm convinced their Women's team is going to win a WC when their past two youth teams get on the senior squad.

Putin's gonna get Russia to win somehow...

Not because they just took 6 to the dome
In reality, they barely made it to the WC
in what was supposed to be a cakewalk (granted it's the world's most difficult qualifier)
but if Venezuela and Bolivia can touch em...

That locker room has been and is a blazing inferno of drama
the pressure from ARG media and fans is unbelievable
they'll buckle and bow out

Keeper is average, defense is shaky, midfield is nothing special (compared to true first-tier contenders like Spain, France, Germany, Brazil -- even Belgium)

He will drop to the 3rd level of the pitch just to support the midfield and be able to create links and attacking opportunities.

They really had their chance last WC...Higuain's misses and then Messi's one chance. With this group, I don't see them doing much.

Their defenders and keep while nothing to write home about are good enough if they had some decent coaching.

Also for some reason Sampaoli hates Dybala

people have been mad at the '22 Cup for a while and rightly so, but this one is gonna be no slouch when it comes to bad vibes, between having to witness Tsar Vlad smirk through the opening ceremony/game, the potential for violence (though I'm sure local police will look to stamp out any hints of trouble, and I do mean that in the American History X sense) and the awwwwful VAR delays.
At least I'm getting enjoyment out of some Italian fans' burgeoning hope that another country will boycott and that they'll be picked as subs (which could lead to the incredible scenario of such a boycott happening and then Chile being picked instead)

Only three episodes so far. Not sure when more will be released. Pretty cool, though large stretches of it are kinda "look upon this greatest of all Italian football clubs, its tradition, its glory, and bow down before it." But the behind the scenes stuff is pretty cool.

I’m sure in this day and age a show like that would never get made without the club’s total control, but still it was interesting to see how the Agnelli guy reinforeced the history and tradition of the club. Something a club like PSG could sorely use IMO

Starts to follow certain players around, talks to them at length, like Buffon, Marchisio, Higuain. But yeah, you gotta wade through the propaganda.

(And with no plans to watch whatsoever, fuck them forever)

Does it even acknowledge how that whole Calciopoli thing that they masterminded kinda sorta like totally ruined Italian football for over a decade? Or do they cry that they were set up? Or both?
