Personally, I like her more as a writer and culture critic than a TV personality so this move doesn't strike me as a demotion.
But over the last few months, the suits stripped the freewheeling discussions that were so much a part of what made His & Hers work so well. But I guess Mike and Jemele weren't the hit that the network was hoping for.
But it was a good experiment... and again proof that we can't have nice things.

Social media seems to bring out the worst in a lot of people. I can't imagine the level of thickness her skin has had to grow into to handle some of these trolls.

The innanet is worse than that. It has allowed the worst people to feel safe and supported while being horrible. Showing up and saying you like some shit is boring to folks. Show up on some hate shit, and folks are all over you one way or another. It’s craxy. And idiots will take the attention however they can get it.

she dominated him at times and left him flustered. I watched the show ALOT when it first started. She definitely didn't bite her tongue about shit, either. That show was/is for Greeny. Has been the case since the first thoughts of ending Mike and Mike. It was just bad chemistry. Beadle saying she was done watching football...on a football heavy network like ESPN, was the last straw, I guess.

and he's very good at it. He's smart and quick on his feet. They messed up, IMO, trying to make it a round-table discussion type show, like Sports Reporters. Should have just kept it funky like Mike and Mike...have some guests, some subject matter experts for whatever particular sport they're discussing. I actually like Greeny. Seems like generally a good dude, but he went completely company man, in that moment. I wonder how this will effect Jalen. He and Beadle are pretty close from their time on NBA Countdown and he has said as much. They've already chopped an hour off of Get Up...it will only be 2 hours, now.

Former ESPN star Jemele Hill will narrate LeBron James' upcoming documentary series on Showtime called Shut Up and Dribble, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter.
The three-part series was previously announced from James and Maverick Carter;s SpringHill Entertainment group. The series looks at the changing role of athletes in the current political and cultural climate against the backdrop of the NBA.
The title for the show comes from a comment Fox News host Laura Ingraham made to James in February when she criticized him for talking politics during an interview on James' Uninterrupted platform.
Hill just finished up a 12-year run as a reporter, columnist, analyst and TV personality at ESPN. Last year, she was suspended for two weeks by the network for responding to a tweet and saying that President Trump was "a white supremacist." Trump's press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, suggested that ESPN fire Hill.
“I think LeBron, like a lot of people, has been very frustrated by the behavior of this administration,” Hill said to The Hollywood Reporter. “ feel very insulted and vulnerable within this time because of who’s in charge.”
According to THR, the series will include interviews with James, Kevin Durant, Charles Barkley, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake among several stars.
