Reggie was always the better shooter, rebounder, passer. More efficient overall. Taller. But everyone cysed PJ as the first rounder, I guess cuz he was stronger and drove more. I never saw it.

Glad to know my time hate-watching UNC pays off in halfway decent player evals from time to time.

On here running his mouth about those questioning Cleveland’s perimeter on some “all you can really do in the NBA is keep your man in front of you and if they make it they make it”? Was that hip bopper?

Because Cleveland’s perimeter D still sucks. Too many old legs. And IT’s little ass won’t help. Better hope they can outscore everyone in the East(they might).

This shit doesn’t fucking work - how much clearer do you need it to be. For fuck’s sake man.

Outside of 1 player - Kuzma - we don’t have an above average shooter on the team, we cannot hit fts, continue to turn the ball over, not playing a lick of defense. Shit is fucking embarrassing and Luke’s rotations are complete shit to boot.

In response to Reply # 22

In this league, you cannot play a non-shooting 4 for extended minutes and expect for it to bear fruit - especially on a team already full of non-shooters. We’ve seen that bear out.

Playing him at the 4 also takes away his biggest strength - his ability to switch in the PnR. If he’s at the 4, the opposition just runs it against our 5.

Luke obv knows this and that’s why he was using Randle in advantageous situations at the 5. It resulted in limited minutes but it was also our best lineup. After the team meeting - at which I’m sure Randle aired his frustration - Luke gave him a chance for more mins and 5/6 games have been unwatchable.

The reality is shooting is this league’s most valuable commodity and he is so limited in that regard. As I said below, we only have 4 two-way players on this team (BI, Kuz, Zo, Hart) and the rest are expendable/gone (imo we’ll sign Larry to a reasonable deal).

In response to Reply # 23

I know we'd like that but as you said - this team is trash in terms of shooting, so we'll take what we can get.

I mean, I don't know how much one of the possible big FA signings even helps us out of the 7th spot at best right now with this lack of shooting/free throws. Between the lack of floor spacing, shooting, bad rotations, uncertainty with whether or not they'll be here next year...it's just all around bad right now. That's on both Luke and the front office.

As much as I now like the DLo deal...kinda...Magic/Pelinka haven't done anything good.

If you want to be successful in extended minutes. Shooting is the most valuable commodity.

Luke has been trying to cover for Randle’s shooting ineptitude by only playing him spot minutes at the 4 and it’s absolutely the right move.

That's why he's been getting the lion's share of minutes at the 4.

You don't just throw Randle out there because he's talented - it's about maximizing his strengths and mitigating his weaknesses. At the 4, his strengths are minimized and his weaknesses are maximized. .

As I said, there's a reason why Luke was playing Randle limited minutes and predominantly at the 5 in matchups that benefit his strengths most. Not coincidentally, those were our best lineups (clear as day when you look at the metrics) but then you had people conflating those cherry-picked minutes as Randle actually being effective in a bigger sample size.

Playing him at the 4 is setting him up for failure and frankly it sets the team up for failure as well. To top it off, Luke starts playing him these big minutes and then he flat out quits defensively last night - if you go back and watch the tape, his level of effort stands out as completely embarrassing amongst a sea full of embarrassing. .

It’s one thing to actually play with a winning approach like we we were earlier in the season but these last 6 games have been so fucking atrocious on all fronts - the stupid ass fucking mistakes, the lack of defensive effort, Luke’s stupid ass rotations, Luke going with this full on retarded starting lineup w Randle at the 5, players worried about minutes and contracts...the only dudes I want to see on this team next year are BI, Kuz, Hart, Zo (the only fucking 2 way players we have on the entire damn roster) and Nance (bc he will get a reasonable deal).

If our defensive rating continues to plummet even after Zo gets back, then Luke needs to get his leash pulled too. I was giving him slack bc we had such a significant defensive turnaround but that shit has fallen off a cliff as well.

Fucking garbage.

credit to scott brooks, the hack-a-shaq fucked up his head for about a month, and he stopped driving. the last few games he's driven with the intention to shoot, and he's getting to the line as a result. obviously he needs to fix his stroke, but 1 point per possession is good enough for now, especially given our struggles in the half court. More importantly, it gets him back into good habits and takes offensive burden off other guys.
