and not just on the olympic team. magic believed zeke was accusing him of being gay when he got HIV snd that's what hurt zeke the most. i understand that was a trying time for magic and his family, but to treat his so-called best friend that way over a rumor was disgusting.
and zeke had the ultimate card to pull when he rebutted the accusation by pointing out that he knew more about HIV than magic and anyone else in the NBA because he was taking care of his late brother, an IV drug abuser who'd contracted the disease. isiah knew it was a "gay" disease and that magic very well probably got it from a woman.

regardless of Isiah's intentions.... his actions after Magic retired fell short of what Magic thought his "best friend" should be saying..
let's remember...this was AFTER the friction that came out of the finals....with the hard fouls... the Lakers not letting Isiah use certain equipment after hurting his ankle...
Isiah himself said during this discussion that he felt a type of way after Magic chose the Lakers over his friendship....
so the issues regarding what Isiah was allegedly saying after Earvin retired came into existence after their was some strain in their friendship already....

as Black men in the public..it's not cool to have petty differences with your brother in public.... Real men were always able to rise above that... So it's very powerful to see them genuinely reconnect as friends....
I will say this... you know... nobody will point out quicker the Isiah Thomas role in some of his more public situations... but I will say that Earvin shouldn't have been as "crass" in his book about Isiah not being on the dream team...It comes across as being hurtful... and that wasn't cool....
there's a lot of reasons why he wasn't on that team...and I do think it's fair to question his role in the numerous issues those other players had with him.... but Isiah Thomas is one of the greatest players of all time... he's one of the great champions ever.... there's no question about any of that..and he should have been on the team...
It was great to see them bond like that though...man ...crazy stories.... going out on tour with the Jacksons... crazy man...
