-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

You've got the Yanks and Sawcks each going for 100 wins, the Angels and M's both getting better in the West to chase the Astros. 85 wins isn't going to get a team into the playoffs next year.
What is Miami even getting besides Starlin Castro?

Plus i think because Machado's glove is so much better that he fits in much better there. Having him at 3B next to Didi is pretty dangerous, not to mention plugging him in uptop in the order. Geez.

And as an O's fan I hate they got Stanton because this pretty much guarantees Machado is the player they will go after versus going after Harper.
Man MLB sucks! First they take a lower deal for the Marlins because they want Jeter involved with baseball. Then, they allow him to "just so happen" deal the Marlins best player to the Yankees. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He's a paper executive letting the dude who runs the ownership group hide behind him while they liquidate assets and, based on Sherman's history, probably flip the team in ~< a decade.
In a vacuum, I don't even think trading Stanton is the worst part. It's gonna be when Yelich goes too, and suddenly all Miami has is Realmuto. I GET why they'd blow up the best outfield in baseball; their franchise ace died tragically and they didn't have any other way to get better while under Stanton's contract. But they're shoving dynamite into every factor of this team; it's a real shame.

I have zero allegiance to Jeter, and trading Stanton, given the situation this team was in, made sense. That contract is silly for Miami in any context other than also building a pitching staff to go with their baller outfield. It's getting rid of everything else - and losing their ace - that makes the Stanton trade feel so awful. There's not going to be an Ichiro/Boone/Cameron/Olerud walking through that door to shock everyone into the best regular season baseball team ever, either.

I haven't personally heard anyone shit on Girardi. They like Boone for sure, and I don't keep in touch with the sports radio types (who of course hot take everything), but everyone I know thought they fucked over Girardi.
