As far as November wins go, this is a good one. Especially considering the grit and resilience it took to get it.

I'm not gonna get super excited about it but at the very least this team proved it can hang with The Best of the best (held them under 90 pts !), and even in coming back it didn't look like they were you know, pressing too hard to do it. If that makes sense. GS went up 17, the Cs calmed down a bit and chipped away patiently then just finished it up with tough D and some timely scoring and FTs.

I like this squad a lot.

But they didn't get frustrated when they easily could've and their defense is top-notch. Sometimes they look like they've been playing together for years.

The good thing is I think that is fixable considering the immense talent they have, and they'll get more comfortable with eachother and clean it up as the year goes on IMO. I don't see it being a problem all year.

And last nite they also just missed a ton of open shots in the first half. They were getting the looks they wanted, just weren't knocking them down.

But as you said, defensively they are among the best in the league. Brad seems to be so good about game planning specifically for each time and the players communicate well and hustle. It's so fun to watch.

I am saying Bron will beat him *THIS* year. Will it be because he shot 1-14 or something like that? Who knows. My contention is that the Cleveland we are watching now is not the Cleveland we will see in the spring...and that Boston will experience what the Dubs experienced a couple of years ago...only this time the train stops in the conference finals.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Jay played in his honor and played a helluva game at that (he sparked that 3rd quarter rally to bring the game into single digits). Not sure if any of ya'll noticed but this is why all the C's were going up to Jaylen after the game ended and showing him love.

Here's a video of Jaylen's post-game speaking on it: https://streamable.com/tukaq

RIP Trevin

Apparently he committed suicide. God that's awful.

Speaks to Jaylen's character that he'd be able to play at all, nevermind play so damn well, in the face of such a tragedy.

This kid is gonna be something special. Not only is he a damn good player, but he seems like a nice kid ... and his throwback look is cool as hell too lol --- short shorts, high top fade ... just an overall likable player and personality.

...It doesn't seem to matter with this Celtics team. Bad shooting percentages....scoring droughts. Whatever. Their defense is the truth. Stevens has this team believing in each other like a Got damn mid '80s college team.....Their rookies don't play like rookies (This time J. Brown, with a heavy heart, shows his ass and leads the team in scoring.....WTF???)....Kyrie shoots like shit but then takes off the mask and makes a series of clutch plays and crushes Light Bright's soul. Horford out-boards his man and drops a double/double.

This team is for real. And they r young. And they seem to have a young Pop in the making whose system has been a revelation.

The league should be shook.

GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

Think this is getting overlooked a bit cause of how well Jaylen played and the death of his friend ... but you nailed it I think. Kyrie didn't play well by his standards, but as you said he still made a difference at the end of the game when on the floor, taking care of the ball and getting the line in some clutch moments. He was a difference-maker even though he didn't shoot particularly well. That's leadership.

Horford is my man. That dude is playing *so fucking well* this year. I know people got on him last year because of his contract but I always said, he's worth the money if he's playing in a glorified complimentary role. He's not gonna be your dominant force but he's going to do all the grunt work EXCEPTIONALLY well (high pick and roll, playing skilled big men tough in the paint, ability to guard high and low, etc.) and open the floor for the top scorers (Kyrie, Jaylen, Jason, Hayward when he returns...). That dude is glue for this team.

Yea man. Stevens is the fucking truth, no doubt about it. If not for him last year's team isn't nearly what it was.

When you need fourth quarter points, there are very few players in the league, if any, that I'd rather have.

at this point...there's no more need for bullshitting. No one finishes like him. He will get to wherever on the floor he wants to be and either finish over, under, around you...or you'll foul him because he gives you nothing but arms to hit when he's maneuvering through you. On that last drive, like 3 guys could have been given the foul.

enriching a team that don't need enrichment.
at least the Sixers will give me something to watch with enjoyment when it's blown up.

our logjam of youth in the frontcourt, and their logjam of youth on the wing, has borne bountiful harvest

altho I still dont see it with Avery and the renowned defense. he's good, and disruptive, but seems a little overhyped, based mostly on the way he harasses the ball on its way up the court. In a late game iso, id rather have Stanley on the ball.

Back when the Pistons still had KCP to lock Curry down anyway. Not sure about now

They have enough length and perimeter defenders Both squads were playing great defense last night. I didn’t expect both teams to be under 100 points.

Warrior fans here are kinda bitching about the FT disparity, but really those damn turnovers hurt us. Was painful to watch that sequence in the 3rd where we kept giving it back to them.

In response to Reply # 35

I'm admittedly a Celtics fan but speaking as objectively as I can, the Celtics in the 2nd half were attacking the basket a lot more while GS, as they are wont to do (with good reason) for the most part were taking fadeaway mid-range jumpers and 3s. So a FT disparity is to be expected considering those two different approaches.

I'd like to watch again to be sure, but I didn't personally see it as one team being whistled for touch fouls while the other was being allowed to play.
