He's clearly not yet comfortable being the primary ballhandler in PNR halfcourt sets. And while we're seeing flashes of Golden State's motion offense it's clear the lack of reliable shooters is putting limits on what the Lakers can actually do in that offense.
Lonzo's instinct is to keep the ball moving but they're not running any plays for him to cut to the basket and the lack of a three-point threat isn't keeping defenses honest. He actually reads defenses well in pick-and-roll/pop situations but he struggles mightily if asked to take his man off the dribble.
That's on Luke. Lonzo's trying to do what's asked of him but he's still feeling his way out as the primary ballhandler. His three accuracy is better as a spot up than off the dribble and he's taken more midrange jumpers so far this season than his entire year at UCLA.
Luke needs to revisit some of Lonzo's strengths at UCLA if he wants more production with him... but then who becomes the primary ballhandler? Hmm.
If there's a silver lining from Nance's injury (sighhhhhhhhhh), it means Randle or Kuzma are going into the starting lineup. If it's Randle (it SHOULD be him) then the starting lineup will have another ballhandler comfortable with initiating the offense.

I knew he wasn't ready out of the box. He hasn't shown much but he won't do shit until he fills out, and obviously will be working on technique in the meantime. I wasn't super high on him (Simmons was sooooooooo obviously better) but he could still be a player.

Only question is just how good he'll be .... if he can become a knockdown shooter the sky's the limit. His physical tools and awareness and overall skillset are excellent, and this year we're seeing the aggressiveness we need to see

But some are hyping Kuzma and downplaying Ingram. I get it...different set of expectations for a late first rounder vs. a #2 pick. But like Basa pointed out, Kuzma is a couple years older.
I’m optimistic about both, think both are playing fine for young players, and I do think Ingram has the higher ceiling. He’s averaging 15, 4, and 3. 1.4 steals, 0.7 blocks. Shooting 39% from 3.
He’s shown signs of being a player who can do a lot of things well, and so far looks much improved.
