maybe there's some in-house shit going on. He made a mistake in the ALDS, sure...but his players picked him up. Yankees are ahead of schedule with this group, by their own admission. He's repped the team well and guided them to a 100 win season and a ring in 09.

I don't watch baseball at all, so pardon my ignorance, but does Cashman have that much sway to make that kind of decision without input from the Steinbrenner siblings? Pretty odd for dude to get the pink slip since it seems like this team is on the come up watching from a distance and dude have been with the Yankees for so long now as a player and coach. Have to wonder if the fan-base will get upset with this move.

Why they would let him go now makes zero sense. He shouldnt have been brought back this year, but now that theyre in straight rebuild I dont care that much about Gardenhire even tho I cant stand that hire.

Lets say all this stuff about how were are going to start using math and advanced statistics and then hire a relic with a mustache.
