In no way am I a FT fan

but they were on it today with the ?s

I can't figure out why 'Rie would do the interview if he never intended to answer the ?s

'I don't have an ego' (c) Kyrie Irving

...then why leave CLE, which gives you the best chance to Win...

those 2 ideas are in direct conflict, and he's smart enough to know that

Doing it wrong = instead of coming on and doing the politically correct thing...he needs to go full heel!

...I'm better than IT3 and I will be better than LBJ...

something like that would go a long way in BOS

but being a swarmy dickhead with a fresh cut and agent suit, ducking and dodging answering direct questions for a half an hour...and being visibly agitated by reasonable ?s

= L.

I don't see this ending well in BOS for him

this interview is going to get run, probably through the whole season

It's about Bron

Been about Bron

Anything else is BS

Until he speaks directly to it, the questions will remain

= why do the interview if he wasn't going to directly address the issue?

It's Kobe and Shaq all over again

I think most people, even Shaq agreed, they should have settled their differences and would have been more successful together...instead of...

But the better together than not part is "eh" considering Kyrie woulda been left with the check if 'bron leaves after the upcoming season.

IF...

Which is HIGHLY likely.

http://cdn.sportige.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/LeBron-cant-leave-you-if-you-leave-him-1024x781.jpg

Play sidekick, make another finals appearance with a possible chip...

If Bron leaves = Kyrie's team

If Bron stays, we can make another ASSumption that he's going to slow down in another 2-3 years = Kyrie's team

Either way, based on 'Rie's answers in that interview about changing the culture, team dynamic, etc...that's going to happen anyway. It's inevitable.

So that takes back to my issue with this interview and his comments

= BS.

It's about Bron. Grow a pair and say it. Especially in an interview you requested.

A team in the midst of annual championship appearances w/o Bron (<--ASSumption) would be $hit...

So then explain to me how this isn't about Bron

That's the reason for the line of questioning in the interview...that he requested BTW

Let's also stop pretending like this was some take my destiny into my own hands, everything is rainbows and unicorns BS

He requested a trade and was very fortunate to land in BOS, considering any number of already $hit teams that he could have been dealt to.

Why go through alladat if it isn't about Bron?

CLE has a lot of salaries coming off the books in the next 2 seasons

As you said, 'Rie has the majority of his career ahead of him

You think CLE couldn't construct a team with 'Rie's input, highlighting his yet to be seen elite PG play...?

C'mon...

If BOS doesn't make the playoffs will you log off for a year...again?

If he can, bare minimum, win as many games as his best season in Cleveland at some point in stay in Boston then it was worth it.

If he can, bare minimum, win a chip in year one as alpha then it was worth it.

Bottom line is he chose to leave a championship team for some reason related to Bron and that is his choice.

He should've spoken more about why he pushed for a trade because none of his reasons felt like honest responses.

As long as LeBron stays in the east then he will never reach the Finals again. Kyrie has yet to prove that he can win games without LeBron. His three years before LBJ came back the Cavs were one of the worst teams in the league. When LBJ came back and he sat out they couldn’t win. In the playoff game against Indiana where they made that huge comeback, Kyrie was on the bench for that. None of that resonates with this dude though. Gone will be the double teams that LeBron gets which allow Kyrie to have the success that he does.

this was prolly summer before his rookie year. Kobe shrugged at him. While I admire the competitive spirit I think Kyrie might be a little to arrogant for his own good.

Then again, maybe he wants to try and prove he can do it without LB.

****************
TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

but not elite.

Boston will be okay this year, but they gutted that team. IT 3 was responsible for a majority of that success. Crowder and Bradley anchored the defense. Kyrie who will be the primary ball handler is not one to get others involved i.e. the first three years of his career in Cleveland. He just looks like the type that doesn’t learn much. He would be better served to take the things that he learned from Bron in what it take to be a winner... prolly not though.

1. was actively consulting with gilbert on trades involving kyrie around time of draft and gave tacit approval to PG/Bledsoe for Kyrie in a 3 team trade. that's been reported. it is a FACT.

2. bron leaked his trade request. been reported. don't know it's fact, but SOMEONE leaked it and why would it be the cavs as it would hurt their leverage?

if you gon not be fair and support bron's antics, just say you a hater.

i'm not surprised that someone finally got tired of it.

I dont 'need' to hear kyrie's reasons to know he tired of the Bron BS. And now he's in a great situation in Boston.

If he wound up on some crap team like the knicks, than he'd have some explaining to do.

But this dude gets to be the best player on a young squad with other all stars and a winning tradition AND be in the East. Homie just checkmated. When you checkmate, you don't need to explain why you did what you did. Its obvious. Nigga won.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

if he ended up on the Knicks? He didn't have a choice where he was going. He took a gamble, he's in a great spot...but, if he had got sent to the Knicks for a package Cleveland liked...it was still a result of the same gamble.

i'm just saying he wound up in a great situation. harping on why he wanted to leave is irrelevant bc he's now in an arguably better situation.

If he wound up in a bad situation like the knicks, then to me, it would be like 'damn you wound up on the knicks, was that worth being traded, why would you rather be there than on Cle.'?

But since he's in a better situation, its like going back in the past to rehash that cle situation. Homie done moved up and moved on.

Maybe i felt like they just asking the wrong questions idk. But it should be obvious that he was tired of bron. Of course espn just wants those headline quotes.

1. Who doesn't do that trade?

+ 'Rie requested a trade

2. The *leak drove up demand...you know, as in basic economics

*how long did you expect his trade demand to stay a secret?

It'd be different if Bron wasn't making the finals every year

Are you mad that 1 (man) player has all that power?

Or are you criticizing the outcomes? = 7 straight finals

I'd rather be a stat padding turd (c) Kyrie Irving

to the point I can't even be mad. again, 2016 happened and they both got over Donkeylips and 'em.

GOATs, I'm going to really miss Kyrie in Wine and Gold, was hoping he could be our "Kobe" for real

One of the things he did was veto a prime Amare for JJ Hickson trade, allegedly. That's one of the things, allegedly....

He had to green light the PG/Bledsoe trade but I am unsure if he consulted if Gilbert on trades for Ky.

Ky is a disciple of Big Boss so it's hard to hate on him unless he bashes the city for no reason.

Bron being a great player make him no less a self-centered, egotistical control freak who thinks everyone should cater to his best interest. Rie was like nah playa...You ain't leaving me to rot alone in this hell hole. Besides nga, you can't close games w/o me anyway. Good luck with the midget.

And he ended up in a good situation, so it doesn't really matter now. He won't have to spend the year waiting to see if LeBron wants to come back or not.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

From reading this post, it seems as if this was a train wreck is the purpose of his visit was pertaining to the Boston trade, which even if that wasn't the main reason for him being on the show, he had to know that was going to be something the hosts were going to bring up.

Did Kyrie manage to somehow look even worse than Screaming A normally does?

Ky had to change his game to play with Lebron. He actually doesn't like to iso so much but our system leans so much on Bron that's all Ky could do. We don't move the ball nearly as much as other teams and our system relies on drive and kick that Bron is known for.

Ky going to Boston allows him to show a lot more versatility than we've seen. They should move the ball more and this will benefit Ky. Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart take pressure off Ky to do everything along with Gordon Hayward etc.

Good for Ky for ethering Max Kellerman and destroying all these false narratives. He kicked Kobe out of this story was one of the best moments of the whole interview. Let Kobe rest in retirement.

He didn't say anything too terrible. Came across as a little arrogant, but whatever.

Dude had every right to request the trade, especially since Lebron is notorious for his exit strategies. Kyrie owes nobody anything.

He's been doing it all summer and he's smart enough to know it's not about his questions yesterday. Max has flat out called Kyrie stupid several times (based solely on the flat-earth fiasco, which even if true, doesn't indicate the entirety of one's intelligence anymore than someone believing a man in the sky is watching all of us while they interpret Constitutional law and set policy for our lives), so Kyrie roasted his dumb ass.

I bet Max wouldn't nitpick the public speaking skills of LeBron, who be cooking the fukk outta some English whenever a mic is in his face. I bet that.

Irving possibly said the most when he said the least, answering “no” when asked whether he spoke to James before his request for a trade.

“Why not?” Smith asked.

“Why would I have to?” Irving replied.

“If you don’t speak to somebody about it, they might take it personally,” Smith said.

“Yeah,” Irving agreed.

“Do you care about that at all?” Smith asked.

“No,” Irving said.

I saw a snippet of this exchange this morning and laughed so loud. I think I'm going to carve out sometime after work to watch this whole episode on YouTube. On some level, Kyrie clearly cares because he agreed to do this interview, but it's great that Kyrie clearly doesn't care what the majority of the public thinks about him wanting to get traded. I hope the awkwardness of the whole interview provides for some good laughs.

....asshole, Kobe Mamba cliche.....But the truth is he doesn't owe shit to Bron James...

The only thing that matters is Kyrie proving that he can lead his own team. He has to prove that his play will elevate his teammates. He does that then everybody will shut the fuck up. He doesn't? Then we know what will happen next....

Winning >>>> Hate...

As much as I hate Kobe, he has led his team to wins and chips....Same with Bron....Leading your team means that you can be a known asshole (see Jordan) and it's water under the bridge. It also covers up your flaws (as it has done with Bron James...The only people still screaming that he is a choker r Skip Bayless, NBA fans of the opposing teams of the Cavs in the Central Division, and fat trolls.....)

Like I said, Kyrie can say whatever he wants. He's a grown man....Just be prepared to back it up....

GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

they can make the damn nba finals and if he misses a wide open hayward on a series-changing possession, then what? he ain't make his teammates better. that's what haters LIVE for.

hell, i know i do. one play. adrian peterson whole career is some playoffs fumbles, as far as i'm concerned. some niggas love hyping those two losses to the giants to shit on brady.

like i said, nothing will change. if YOU feel different, that's cool.

...not really. Bron was a free agent and kept his commitment to both Cleveland and Miami. Ky aws not a free agent and forced hands to accommodate him with this - so that is a distinctive difference.

At the end of the day I always support players exercising their free agency - even when under contract. Bron carried to cross for moves like these and that's why he's not mad at it - but Ky definitely put himself first in this situation and was not comfortable finishing up the contractual commitment. That's his right but it is diff. than how Bron left.

getting people to care about what you say regarding so called controversies and beefs doesn't escalate you into the elite players in the league...

you do that by consistently winning and leading your team...

now you got a chance to do it outside of LeBron's shadow..

now do it...then holler at us...
