-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Patriots were primed to dominate offensively with Gronk back and the addition of Cooks. a formation where Edelman and Cooks are the inside receivers, with Gronk flexed wide and isolated? nightmare shit for a defense.

... someone today brought up a good point - when JE went down in 2015 (?) with a foot, their 3rd down numbers went down by HALF. Literally half. So I think, weirdly, that JE is more important to making the offense go than Gronk and I think it will be tougher to gameplan without him than it has been/would be without Gronk. Especially because we're so used to Gronk being hurt 50% of the time. Edelman has been such a constant, it's gonna be more difficult to work around his absence. There just ain't a player that can even halfway mimic the kind of shit he does especially in terms of moving the chains and going across the middle and getting *smashed* by linebackers, then getting up and doing it again. Gronk is a physical freak and likely the most talented TE ever to grace a football field but I just think JE is a tougher loss based on the "security blanket" he provides Brady in tough spots.
It's not a crippling injury IMO just likely the toughest the Pats could face offensively outside of GOAT going down.
