Was gonna make a post earlier but was waiting for someone else.
Some good matches so far. Nadal defeated in a 4 and a half hour early exit. Djokovic forced to retire with a arm injury in quarterfinals. Murray gets bested in quarterfinals to American Sam Querrey who interestingly knocked off #1 Joker last year at Wimbledon.
Fed in semifinals is now clear favorite, can he win Grand Slam title #19? He's already Goat so just more icing but pulling for the old man, would like to see him get 20 before he retires.
Venus in the finals. With Serena out seems like she is giving even more effort to get another championship.
When Venus, Serena and Federer retire, I'm most likely gonna lose a lot of interest in tennis.

had never heard of him before but he resisted very well against Thiem despite losing in straights (really good stuff in the first two sets). He's 20 so he may be another hope for the US

I honestly can't remember a single thing about his career up to this tournament. Played very solid, hopefully he keeps it up in the leadup to the US Open

really clinical win today, despite firm opposition from Berdych. But once you get to TB it's Roger time. Won't be hard to root for him on Sunday since he's up against the accidental doper.

Venus dealt with a lot off the court heading into the tourney but she was able to use the game as a reprieve. Her and Coach Witt really worked on her 2nd serve and forehand to make it more consistent (although the latter left been today, once her confidence was down, she started opening up way too much).
Gabrine - helluva tournament, so impressive. The resilience to bounce back and defeat Kerber after losing the 1st set and today just stepping on the proverbial throat once she had the momentum and confidence, she never let up until the deed was done. Congrats

>Was he really injured or did he just have a mental breakdown?
Pretty underwhelming match after the competitive start, but wow who would've thought that Fed would/could win not one, but two Slams at the start of the year.
We just need a Fed/Nadal match to finally happen at the US Open.

the Wimbledon title thing was the last thing i was holding on to as someone who grew up watching Sampras. i know it's like 8 years too late but all props to him, he is the GOAT.
