"Lebron James is going to be a Laker (Griff out as GM)"
Mon Jun-19-17 08:33 PM by bshelly

Griff fired. Comic sans ascendent and somehow giving Bron an iron-clad out for leaving a second time.

Laker fans, I'm not even mad, and this is not a jinx. Clear your cap space now for Bron, PG3, and Russ. No, I don't know how all of that works, but smart NBA people have said it's possible. Make it so.

Why would LeBron voluntarily move a step further from the Finals?
He can assemble the best team he wants in LA and they'd still have their
hands full in the WCF. The absolute WORST he could do staying in the East is getting swept in the Finals. I don't get it.

you beat GSW in the WCF, who's waiting for you in the Finals? The Celtics? Bucks? Raptors? Bron's not afraid of them, and as he gets older if he has to face the fact he just can't overcome the Warriors two weeks earlier, I'm sure his body wouldn't mind at this point in his career. I'm sure there's a part of him that would like to prove he could get to the conference finals in the western conference after so many years of quiet accusations he's been feasting on the east to pad his finals opportunities. might as well take a chance on being able to get the hard part out of the way in the WCF and ride that emotional high to a 5 game Finals victory.

I'm not saying it's a good plan, but I can see the logic behind it.

I mean if you're going to lose to GSW, might as well do it somewhere warm.
Besides, Paul George wants to play in LA and they have assets to burn to acquire more help.

Gilbert just watched the most expensive team in NBA history get dismantled and got cold feet in paying a 100 million dollar repeater tax. We may actually see the Cavs get blown up because it's not worth the money to get 4-1'd even with PG13.

- They have nobody to trade, except Shump/Frye (yikes)
- No draft picks till 2021
- LeBron already did what he promised, the curse was lifted

Their only chance was trading for PG, and now when Griffin is out, it's clear that they are not getting anybody. Cavs front office were largely Griffin's peoples, loyal only to him, nobody wants to deal with crazy ass Gilbert directly. So new GM will have to bring his own peoples and that will take time. Something that Cavs don't have.

I guess the word has been out (about LeBron's leaving) and that's why PG told the Pacers he's out too. They are gonna team up somewhere, probably LA. The Clippers are on it too, that's why they hired Jerry West.

Would kill his chances of coasting through an easy conference en route to finals appearances. He'd actually have to work to make it.
