"3 on 3 Basketball Coming to Olympics in 2020: Who Ya Got?"
fuck yea! very happy to see this news. i always prefer playing 3 on 3 or 4 on 4 halfcourt so I'm excited to see what the players will do with all that space. still a dream of mine to see the olympics in Tokyo.
The IOC has added 3-on-3 basketball to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic program.
There will be 64 participants with eight teams for men and women.
FIBA President Horacio Muratore said: “The intensity and skill level of the 3x3 Game is such that there are no traditional 3x3 powerhouses and new countries have emerged since the first YOG experience in 2010. This was our main objective back in 2007. The decision provides FIBA with a renewed, strong incentive to continue in this direction and grow the game of basketball by developing new young skilled basketball talents in both genders across the globe from small islands to large countries in every continent.”

There's a ton of talented basketball players in the world whose games didn't translate to the NBA for technical reasons but who have tons of talent and could provide tons of competitive fun in a 3 on 3 setting
