"uh...Finals Prediction Post?"

or would that ruin too many agendas? if you're gonna talk shit and claim W's for your agendas afterwards, you better post up and put your predictions in now.

- the best 3 players in the series will be LeBron, Durant, and Kyrie.
- LeBron averages a triple double.
- Kevin love has two 20 point 10 rebound games.
- Klay has two good games.
- Donkey Lips gets ejected.
- Curry has two games with less than 20 points.
- Dahntay Jones gets a technical
- JR Smith has a big game
- Cleveland bench outplays GS bench.
- 4 games that go down to the wire.

and dare I say it...Cavs in 7 and we have to suffer through numerous articles and posts about how this makes LeBron better than MJ (not true).

If draymond doesn't kick, it's likely 5 last season...based on that and the addition of KD to force Lebron to play both sides of the ball (no more center field and counting on Barnes to miss wide open shots), I have to go with Warriors in 5 as well.

Idk why people act like saying LeBron is better than Jordan at this point is so outrageous. i'm not even saying he's 'ten times better' i'm just saying he's got a slight edge over him skill wise & taking into account his overall body of work which includes the narrative. If LeBron wins again this year, his 4 beats Jordan's 6 because how how he got it IMO, and I think that's perfectly reasonable.

It's not outrageous. A statement like "cements himself above Jordan"...it's just too much trying to turn an opinion into a factual statement.

i'm not even saying he's 'ten
>times better' i'm just saying he's got a slight edge over him

Debatable. I think Jordan had the slight edge because he was a better shooter.

taking into account his overall body of work
>which includes the narrative. If LeBron wins again this year,

His 4 beats Jordan's 6 because of how he got it....bouncing and superteaming up with 2 other hall of famers to get two of them? That doesn't make any kind of sense. How is the way he got them making less better than more?

he took a ragtag bunch to to within two wins the first year against GS, he beat a 73-win team last year and personnel-wise they are BETTER this year. jordan never beat a generational team in fact honestly it's hard to say that any of those teams were all that remarkable. hard to nitpick things one guy did that the other didn't, not to say there are none, but the ones that exist cancel each other out. if he wins this one, he's coming for jorn or he's already gotten them. the gap has serious potential to close. of course they could easily lose the series in five games, too.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

I can't figure that one out. I predict that costs GS a game.

Love is playing the best I've ever seen him play. Cleveland can muck up the game to slow GS down. Their bench looks better. And they've got Lebron. Could easily win it. I'm betting on KD coming through, and a healthy Curry making up for last year. Green won't do something that dumb again, right?

That gives each player a rest without the team changing it's point of focus offensively. It's not like Steph and KD are staggering minutes late in games, it's early so each can peak as the game goes on.

Last season, W's would put Steph off the ball in some of those minutes and allow Livingston to initiate. This year with KD, it gives them the benefit of just sitting Steph and giving him a full blow.

24. "Are you talking about the beginning of the second quarter?"
In response to Reply # 15

Steph will usually play the entire first quarter and KD most of it (sometimes he'll be the first one subbed out, then brought in later in the first).

The Warriors then traditionally start each second quarter with the line-up of Iggy, Clark, Draymond, Klay, and West; it's their "defensive-minded" line-up. During the regular season and some play-offs game, Steph will rest the first six minutes and KD less (because he's usually been subbed out earlier). However, since this is the finals, and every game is a must-win, I doubt both of them will be off the floor for long if things go south.

I imagine there's going to be a lot of the "Death" line-up during the second quarter: Steph, Klay, Iggy, Draymond, and KD, with the aim of stretching Tristan and Love out quite a bit.

Cavs steal a game in GS. GS steals one back and then Cavs win the next 2.

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

#1 - But most of the games will be a dogfight. Might be 1-2 double digit wins but I think most of them are within 5-7pts. Letting it come down to 1 game vs LeBron and Kyrie is suicide. One can control a game until the late stages and the other is a master at closing it out (shines brightest in clutch situations). They are legit perfect teammates in that aspect. I use to say Kobe+LeBron would be perfect...well Kyrie is Kobe 2.0 because he's more efficient. For this reason, the W's will wrap it up early. If it goes 7, I'd lean 52% Cavs/48% W's.

#2 - Both teams play great D but the W's defensive weapons are more versatile. Durant switching on Kyrie is doable (kinda), Love switching on Curry is a nightmare...and yeah I know last year it wasn't BUT...

#3 - Curry has something to prove now. I think last year his ego was a little inflated after back to back MVP's, 73-9, an amazing season where he dominated. Plus, he got hurt in the western conference 'offs and wasn't exactly himself. No such issues this year. After he had Gobert doing New Edition spins, I knew it was a wrap: https://streamable.com/gjzwx

#4 - Draymond ain't getting no suspensions. Might get a tech or two but thrown out or supsended won't happened. He's still being him but somehow, he's been a little reserved this year toward the refs.

#5 - Kevin Durant is on a mission. And he fills in exactly what the Warriors need. Game 3 vs Utah was the perfect example. When they are all off, he can bridge the droughts. Plus, he's one of the few guys in the league that can neutralize LeBron's impact over a game.

#6 - Klay is due. JR is too but Klay>>>JR so Klay's breakout will be more significant.

#7 - Deron will flop vs Livingston or Clark, David West will play better than Channing Fry, Iggy will play better than or equal to Richard Jefferson, the goon effect is better on the W's side (Barnes and West vs Shump and Tristan?) and the x factors = JaVale McGee's contributions on D and to a lesser extent O and how hot Kyle Korver is. To extend this series, Korver is gonna have to have at least 1 hot game.

#8 - I really think 4 people will tip the scales one way or the other Klay+JaVale for the Warriors and Korver+JR for the Cavs. If Korver and JR affects 2 games significantly, Cavs in 7. If Klay and JaVale do what they are capable of (Klay) or have been during the 'offs (JaVale), W's in 5 or 6.

i started to type out a bunch of these "keys to the game" type bullet points. but then i realized that it really isn't even that complicated.

the warriors added kevin effing durant.

that's really all there is to it. a 73 win team, who was up 3-1 in last year's finals, which ended up going down to the final seconds of game 7, added kevin gotdamn durant.

simple.

over the final 3 games last year, all of which cleveland won, harrison barnes went a combined 5-for-32. i'm betting that durant's not going to do that.

The Cavs KNOW they are champions now. That always plays a factor into things. And the Warriors have seeds of doubt considering they won while the Cavs were hobbled and lost to the Cavs after the greatest reg season ever. It's the same type of doubt that tipped Durant into the W's hands.

Confidence vs Doubt is good for at least 1 game in this series.

Plus the Cavs have been red hot since the second round. I felt like you do when the playoffs started but after watching both teams, I can't say the W's are THAT much better than Clev (the Korver addition is paying major dividens). I just think the Warriors have more to play for.

Hopefully GS has some schemes to eliminate curry switching on to kyrie after Jr screens.

Also, if curry can't break tristan/love when cle switches like last season, then he is a Fraud lol

Dominating the East is one thing.....Going against the firepower of GSW is quite another...

I see Cleveland's up and down defense and shaky bench (on the offensive side of the ball) hurting them. Also, Lebron James has to do way too much for that team to win games against top notch talent. GSW has revenge on their mind and a hungry Durant.....

Klay really needs to step it up though.

I should add: KD for MVP, though Bron will probably be the best player on the court.

Yep yep. I was indifferent to James his first few seasons. He started growing on me after I saw the doc 'More than a Game'. The way he has come to handle himself publically....I like him more than I liked Jordan. I think he's an excellent role model too. I only wanna see success for him.

GSW will miss their bench.

However, if Warriors win I'd be happy for Mike Brown and KD.
