As for Cal, I'll let RealBillyOcean debunk this one, but... yeah. He's not going anywhere.

Maybe, once his kid graduates, if there's a super-obvious super-team that calls his name and offers him dump trucks full of money, then *maybe* he considers it for a couple of days. But he'd still probably turn it down.

I imagine it would take a job like Cleveland (where, if they don't win a chip, any "rebuild" would be minimal), a job in LA (like, if Doc Rivers gets fired by the Clippers, Jackson could take the job and be close to his ministry), or a job for a team if he has personal connection to like New York (but I doubt they fired another coach this quick) to make him give the relatively relaxing spot he's got.

Anyway, I'd be shocked if the Cavs fire Lue this season. It would take them collapsing during the regular season and not making the finals. And they'll make the finals. If they don't win a championship, I think it's more likely they make some trades and try to bring in the blockbuster free agents.

If they lose before the Finals he will get fired, no question. If they get embarrassed in the Finals it's even a possibility. Otherwise he will stay. He defers to LeBron and there is no clear-cut successor that Bron would want as far as I can see.

It's well known that he didn't have the handle on the
pro game that Lue did.

Lue's matchups and rotations were *stellar* in the playoffs.

Brown and Kerr are taking turns stepping over him like AI did. He lets Golden State dictate everything he does. He pulls guys on and off the floor after a few seconds. He won't use certain guys because of matchups and lets the opposing staff dictate his rotation. Their spacing was a little better yesterday but overall the biggest improvement came from both LeBron and Kyrie attacking more effectively. He has not done a great job in the series at all and this is the first time he was tested. For all you're dogging Blatt for, he got them to the Finals without a blip and once they were there they performed better than they are this year without their two top players after LeBron. Obviously Lue did a good job last year but beyond his adjustment he also had Green out for a game, Iggy and Bogut both getting hurt, etc. The reality is that neither Blatt nor Lue is a great NBA coach. Lue has a future in the carousel. Blatt should get another chance at some point.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

No, he did a masterful job of coaching last year.

I see how y'all do, though.

In fact, BLATT didn't stand up to Lebron and Lue DID.
That was actually the real narrative. Lue held Lebron
accountable in ways Blatt DID NOT.

Can't beliebe I'm about to agree with the "race-bating troll", but jesus man can we give Lue his due?

I don't think they'll lose to the Wizards or anyone else and a loss in the finals won't hurt him either.

With zero outs.

They don't get you HOME, but they get you to second base,
frazzle the pitcher, leave multiple ways for you to get home

If you think Lue is getting canned after going to the finals (post winning a chip being down 1-3) you're insane.

and they went with BUST.

anybody who thinks this team is going into next year with the same personnel is delusional. they will shake up the roster but given their limited ability to make big moves, a coaching change is certainly inside the realm of possibility. blatt, however flawed, was dealing with a lot shorter deck and got them closer. it didn't matter. lue has lebron's support more than blatt did but don't think that can't change when things aren't going well. lebron is a guy with very, very high standards.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
