I love CFB and I know you do to but the length of a CFB game is starting to get a little long. Games are easily clocking in at over 3.5 hours long and most games seem to be closer to 4 hours.
CFB needs to have shorter games. Should they do away with stopping the game clock after a first down? Should they shorten the play clock to speed up plays?

NFL games are controlled down to a science how long they last and have as much if not more commercial breaks than college. The 1st down freeze is major, but I think the proliferation of the spread offense and amount of scoring going on plays into it, too. PATs and kickoffs take forever, and if teams are throwing often, the clock barely moves. Freezing the play but running the game clock on 1st downs would fix a lot until the pendulum swings back away from the spread or uptempo, but who knows when that will be.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

They think it's unfair on the offense to be ready to run a play but the marker team still be setting up, so they just stop the clock instead. It's dumb and one of those "charming" parts of football that could easily be done away with with some pretty simple technology.

down?? jeez.

nothing'll really change to speed things up as long as audiences stay healthy. And even if they don't TV execs will probably blame millennials and not push for any significant changes
