"Do people still play fantasy football on this board?"

>that would be funny...but some of them dudes was sketchy in

I was in a precursor to blowhards, a couple of those sketchy dudes had board beefs with me about other things so they went and created blowhards so I created Varsity which spawned subsequent leagues like JV, Freshman etc., introduced to concept of promotion/relegation to OKS fantasy football, I hit a rough streak and ended up getting relegated out of my own league plus life got busy so I lost interest lol.

will5198 had the college fantasy league rocking for a minute but when he stepped a way it subsequently hell apart.

RB McCaffrey
RB Swift
TE Ertz
WR Moore
WR Lamb
Flx Akers
D - Cowboys

Qb: Mahomes
RB: Harris
RB: Montgomery
Wr: Hill
Wr: Mooney
TE: Godedart
Flex: Etienne
D: Saints
K: Bass

Bench:

Kareem Hunt
Tony Pollard
Allen Robinson
Valdez Scantling
Kirk Cousins
Mecole Hardman
JD Mckissic

I’m in PPR league, so it is imperative to have WRS and RBs who get receptions or
the potential to get receptions.

Najee Harris was a low key workhorse for the Steelers last year….
and with a weak QB situation he is going to have a strong floor and ceiling. He is going
to get a lot of touches.

And I made sure to get the backups for Elliott and Chubb…They are both injury prone,
so you know Pollard and Hunt are going to get their shine. I scooped those dudes up
with the quickness.

Had to have two bears on the squad just on GP…and both are the main playmakers.

Sleeper - half PPR, no kicker or def. Drafted 2nd/12

QB - Dak
RB - McCaffrey
RB - J. Williams
WR - Pittman
WR - McLaurin
WR - M. Brown
TE - Kelce
Flex - Harris
Flex - Lazard

Bench
Tannehill
Carter
Spiller
Chark
Gage
Tolbert

ESPN Full PPR (had to select backups for each position including Def and K). Drafted 9th/12

QB - Dak
RB - Mitchell
RB - Gibson
WR - Chase
WR - Diggs
TE - Pitts
Flex - Cooper
D/ST - Dallas
K - Carlson

Bench
Akers
Stevenson
Lazard
Valdes-Scantling
Fields
Hurst
D. Williams
Slye (Wash K)
Jets D/St

Definitely went heavy with RB on the first one and had to go heavy with WR on the second.

Mooney didn’t do anything. I’m going to lose this week’s matchup

Plus Harris might be out for the season. Well, I would rather deal with this now
than to have to deal with it later.

If not for a work league popping up out of nowhere late last week, this woulda been my 2nd year with no season-long teams after 15 or so years of having multiple teams every year.

And of course, week 1 for me usually means a solid mix of premature victory laps for things that went well (Barkley, Antonio Gibson, Joe Mixon) and random dudes getting hurt in the first half and leaving me hanging (Niners RB/Mitchell and of course Keenan damn Allen, who is guaranteed to get hurt even if I put him on a DFS team of mines).

I have Crab Legs and Landry on the bench (good stuff). I also have Robert Woods and AJ Green (bad stuff) on the same bench. AKA decent week 1. We'll see how Russ does tonight!

the defense wasnt projected to do well but i figured dak would get around 20 so 10 from the defense was possible.

akers gave me a big fat 0 too. my team on that league looks like trash besides chase and diggs. i think i need to trade one to get a decent RB and figure out something for QB.

the other team is pretty solid.

basically benched amari cooper for him. i moved mitchell from RB to flex and cooper from flex to bench. they both ended up with 4 points each sooo my team sucks lol

put in some waiver claims, hopefully i hit on a couple of them. i think im keeping akers on the bench until i find someone worth dumping him for or he shows he is worth starting.

went into sunday morning with good odds of winning both. i need diggs to get over 40 to win one. im playing against diggs in the other, no players left on my team and im down so that one is a lost cause lol

akers actually got more points than taylor this week (7) lol

im going to have to ditch fields, i should had prioritized getting wentz on waivers but i put RB first and i think he ended up being out this week.

so im probably 1-1 in my small money one and 0-2 in the bigger money one after tonight.

Amon-Ra is killing it so far. I was so wrong for not buying into him. He was still pretty 'cheap' in drafts considering his current role. He's basically whooo riding.

I ALMOST fucked with him and Swift as a combo, but that usually (at least in my experience) only works with the QB/WR combo in fantasy. *shoutout to Payton Manning/Wes Welker winning me half a rack, a few years back*

FF is so boring and such a chore at this point. And we don’t even draft in person anymore. All these guys do is make stupid comments in group texts too late in the night, about some shit I don’t care about. That’s the extent of our friendship as adults, lol.

I gotta retire from this.

I made it out for one year. Now I'm playing in a cheap work league.

If you're gonna keep playing, do 2 things:

- Do drafts via auction. Its ridiculous how much better it is than snake drafts.
- Assign wins via 'top half each week wins'. Or at least make that a part of how wins are given out each week. AKA don't be a head to head only league cuz its randomized injustice. And fantasy football is already random enough!

ive only done snake drafts

top half means the teams that scored the most points in that week?

comparing points for and points against in my leagues the records of the teams dont match up. that would definitely be interesting.

as frustrating as it can be i still do enjoy playing. i do mute one of the text chats because i dont know most of the people in it and they would randomly send texts that i didnt care to read lol

the other one is basically just the commissioner providing an update; fees due, draft is on __, etc and people saying okay.

I’ve never experienced anything like that. I do ESPN fantasy, and we never
comment on anything. We just play each other and make player moves.
It’s very civilized.

Auction drafts are wack, because that’s not how it works in the NFL. They don’t do auctions.
So it’s not a real NFL experience.

and as some have dropped out over the years, some family members of friends have replaced some people.

Somebody’s always peppering the group text with messages at the wrong time. Lol.

We used to draft in person and have some pizza and beers and stuff. Hanging out once a year is probably what kept me in the league in the first place. Since covid we haven’t done any of that.

Honestly - the FF part doesn’t do much for me anymore. Probably just bored of it.

a lot of big names put up mediocre performances. i have good odds to win both my match ups but anything can happen.

in one i am down by 4 and i only have the dallas d/st left. opponent already played everyone. i think very doable but theres also a big chance barkley gets like 250 yds.

in the other i am up 47 and already played everyone. opponent only has shepard left. very unlikely but who knows.

if i had played pitts instead of hurst in the first one it would be a wrap. hopefully this at least was the breakout game pitts needed to start putting up respectable numbers. i also could had gone with jacksonville for d/st but i didnt expect them to do that to the chargers lol

I had Barkley, Mixon, and a bunch of not much at RB. I'm also stuck with Russell Wilson at QB.

So....

I traded Joe Mixon for Jeff Wilson (I have Mitchell), Melvin Gordon (I have Boone), and Geno Smith.

I also backdoored that deal and traded AJ Brown and Gerald Everett (I have Kittle) for Justin Jefferson.

Go ahead..how about it? 1/2 PPR, -2 for turnovers.

In response to Reply # 76

How good do you expect him to be?

Seems like you got real good return on the trades. Makes me feel extra dumb about mine.

I missed hard on RBs but have good WRs so I have been eyeing making a trade for a good RB. Someone made me a pretty insulting offer a couple weeks back that I declined.

I would give away
Stefon Diggs, Buf WR
Antonio Gibson, Wsh RB

I would get
Ezekiel Elliott, Dal RB
Curtis Samuel, Wsh WR

Gibson/Elliott is a wash, maybe now Elliot is better since Robinson is back but still not great. Diggs is waaaaaaay better than Samuel.

I have Chase and Cooper to go along with Diggs. I think that has kept me at 3-2 so far with mediocre RBs and getting 0 from my QB lol

So I made an offer to someone else that I had already identified of being weak on WRs but really strong on RBs.

They have Barkley, Cook, Stevenson and Pierce.

I offered to give
Amari Cooper, Cle WR
Antonio Gibson, Wsh RB

To get
Michael Thomas, NO WR
Dalvin Cook, Min RB

It was declined but I did say I would be open to counters. I was hoping he would go for Chase but he offered the below and I accepted.

I would give
Stefon Diggs, Buf WR
Elijah Mitchell, SF RB

To get
Dalvin Cook, Min RB
Michael Pittman Jr., Ind WR

Cook is definitely an improvement that hasn't played to his potential but I'm hoping he will. Diggs to Pittman is a big drop but good enough. Mitchell has just been chilling on my IR so I saw this as a no brainer. He had actually messaged me about this so I sent the offer. He declined and tried to get me to send Carlson for Patterson which I declined then he offered the above. Now it's just waiting on approval from the league but should go through tonight.

How bad do you think my trade was, do you think I could have asked for more? Should I had tried Barkley instead of Cook?

You got two living folks with one living folk. Aka I think it’s solid on the surface at least assuming everyone stays healthy.

Deeper in than that..getting a good healthy rb without giving one back in a trade is generally good business. Cook is a buy low. If you can stash Mattison for the insurance, even better.

I love Diggs. I really like Cook. Matt Ryan is turrible so good luck with Pittman. It almost can’t be worse than it has been!

Mitchell was supposed to be out until about week 10 but who knows. It’s Shanny, they have no obligation to say how he’s doing so far, and who knows. I think whoever gets the work with the niners will be decent to have. The challenge is usually figuring out who that is gonna be. Right now, it seems like Jeff Wilson for sure.

84. "So this week it was about a wash"
In response to Reply # 78

Diggs is just so good. Pittman had a monster game (relatively speaking) Cook was a dud until the last minute touchdown. So I think this week I gained like 6 points.

I ended up scoring like 19 more points than projected overall but two questionable calls on my end made me lose by 2 points. I felt pretty desperate coming into this week, I felt I was on the verge of losing going forward. I am near the bottom of points for and against so I need to start getting more points. Thus the trade and then I dropped Pitts for Taysom Hill.

I know Hill is very boom or bust but Pitts has been basically bust all week. I figured I would gamble on Hill this week and get Pitts or someone else later. I didn't expect Pitts to get claimed instantly, oops. I probably would have started Hurst instead of Pitts if I didn't make that move, he didn't do great but he did better than Hill. Hill got 3 and Hurst 5 so that would have been a tie.

I also decided to bench Dallas D/ST and go with Jaguars instead. Somehow this is the week when the Colts go off so Jaguars got -4 points. Dallas got 6. 10 point swing.

One thing I did like is that Chase had a great game. Hopefully that continues. They finally announced when Mitchell is expected back. I don't know if he will instantly contribute so I still feel okay overall on the trade. I think it was somewhat even.

Who in their right mind wood trade Jefferson for Aj Brown and Everett. Brown is a good

for Hurts. He is somewhat trending down.

I know I know..the most internetty thing on earth for fantasy football is the whole ‘not in my league’ thing. Sometimes it’s valid. You see people getting completely fleeced..especially in the ‘here’s 4 people off of my bench for Cooper Kupp’ type deals.

Other times, it’s more about people regularly playing in leagues with shook folks who are horrified of doing a trade with real players in it because there’s gonna be risk to take on. And if anyone thinks a trade isn’t triple beam scale ‘balanced’ in a vacuum, folks will try to Twitter complain until they drum up a veto vote…yeah yeah..seen it, lived it, all of that.

Besides that…

It’s fantasy football and shit happens. JJ rolls his ankle and I’m toast. Cousins gets hurt and I’m stuck with a backup, not great.. If Everett keeps on randomly catching 5 passes a week at tight end, it’s closer than the name values and current points scored suggest. And Brown could outscore JJ by himself if he got on a TD streak. And no one who has played a bunch of fantasy would be shocked about any of this.

Personally, I think JJ has a safer weekly floor assuming health and I don’t trust Everett. And I have another tight end. The person I traded with had basically no tight end and another wr who is on a hot streak. And the free agent list didn’t have much in the way of pick up and play tight ends because those basically don’t exist beyond the top 2 and lottery ticket ass Taysom Hill. So the timing was right. And there was a big trade right before that so trade fever was active. So I went for it. Now let’s see if the Vikes forget Jefferson exists again or not!

82. "TE isn’t a position that is going to make or break a fantasy season."
In response to Reply # 81

So the focal point is to get a TE that is serviceable, where you’re getting 7-10 points
per matchup. In my league, there are several serviceable TEs who are still available to
claim.

Hurst for the past two weeks have been avg double digit fantasy points, and prior to that
he had a week where he generated 7 points and a week where he generated 9 points. He is
still available in my league.

Smith Jr, Tonyan, and Conklin are also serviceable and are still available in my league,
so I’m sure one - if not all - of those TEs are still available in your league as well.

Justin Jefferson is arguably the best WR in fantasy. He scored 39 points in the first week,
and has averaged 30 points per matchup in the past two weeks. AJ Brown did score 25 points in the first week of fantasy, but since then his numbers have gone south, and he has
nowhere near the same scoring potential as Jefferson because he has to share targets
with Smith and Goedart. Plus Hurts himself is the number 1 scoring option in red zone
situations, where he will just run it in for the TD himself.

Now let’s look at the ceiling of the players who were involved in the trade. Jefferson’s ceiling
Is 39-40 points. brown’s ceiling is 20-25 points. Everett’s ceiling is 17 points. A serviceable
TE’s ceiling is 10 points.

Jefferson and and a serviceable TE could get you 50 points per week, where as Brown
and Everett could get you 42 points per week….Thats a difference of 8 potential fantasy
points, which is a huge difference in fantasy.

He weakened his WR lineup to improve his TE lineup. That’s a terrible fantasy move.

Bigger rosters. The tight ends you mention are rostered. Or they only get dropped going into a bye or if someone is in a pinch trying to chase a newly valuable free agent. When I wrote ‘there’s no reasonable tight ends available’, that’s what I meant. Aka he was getting zeroes at tight end. AND he was the type who wants to set it and forget it, get whatever points he’s going to get and keep it moving.

Also, 1/2 ppr.

It made trading away Mitchell feel a lot better. Anything can still happen but for now it looks like a good move.

I have CMC in my other league, I'm currently tied for first and need him this week. Hopefully he gets a couple of TDs even if he doesn't get many touches. I'm going up against the commissioner of that league and he left Conner in his flex spot and Olave on his bench. Even with that I only have a 6 point projected lead.

I have Dak and Jimmy G in both leagues. Only problem is they're both on bye on week 9. Gotta figure out who I'm moving and what I can get. Overall I expect Dak will get more points but with CMC Jimmy G might get a boost.

In one I got Gus Edwards and dropped Antonio Gibson. I also got Parris Campbell and dropped Corey Davis.

In the other I got Gus Edwards and dropped Deon Jackson. I also got Marquise Goodwin and dropped Noah Brown (got beat to Campbell and Hardman).

Being successful with these claims makes me wonder if they will be duds lol

I got myself in a tricky spot with QBs. I have Dak and Jimmy G in both. They both have week 9 byes. I am biased towards Dak so I am thinking I am dropping Jimmy G for the bye and hoping to pick him up after as I might put him in instead of Dak depending on the match up. For this week I dropped Jimmy G and picked up Danny Dimes in one league. I might start him over Dak as I don't love the match up this week but I still need to pick up someone else after this week since he also has a week 9 bye lol I'm thinking I'll go either PJ or Ehlinger.

In the other league Kirk Cousins is available but we don't need to keep two QBs. I'm thinking someone might drop someone better this week. I might drop Jimmy G and pick someone for my Flex spot for this week then just pick best available QB next week for Dak's Bye.

I offered Kelce, Damien Harris and Claypool for Hopkins and Hockenson. I was going to ask for Sanders or another RB back but I don't think Harris has much value and figured they would turn it down. They accepted this quickly so I probably could have gotten a RB back.

I have CMC on bye and Hollywood is my only good WR but he's on IR. I do have Freiermuth but he's on a bye. I am projected to lose this week and I don't want to drop under 500 but I do also need help at WR long term. Ideally I wanted to get a WR1 and RB2 for Kelce since I needed a TE this week I pivoted to getting a solid fill-in for the week. Not sure if this will help me win this week but I think overall it is okay assuming everyone stays healthy.

I am thinking maybe I can move Hockenson/Freiermuth and Hollywood for a good RB next week and that will set me up good for rest of season.

to predict how the season is going to turn out.

I dropped Najee Harris. He is dealing with a foot issue, has a terrible
offensive line, and his next three matchups are against top defensive teams.
He was a waste of a spot.

My running back situation is set up to be really good
in the later half of the season.

Montgomery/ Harris were my RB1 and RB2 selections, but I put Etienne in the RB2
spot after dropping Harris. He is trending up and is set to get more carriers
than Robinson. Plus he has a sweet matchup this weekend.

My bench is full of top backup rbs:

Hunt
Herbert
Mattison
And Benjamin… Cook, Montgomery, Chubb and Conner aren’t all going to be
healthy for the entire season. So I’m sitting on some valuable fantasy assets.

I finished with 114.5 points. He has 71 points. However, he still has 2 more plays. He has Eckler and Herbert going tonight. So it’s going to go down to the wire. Eckler has been avg 30 points for the past two weeks, and Herbert is good for 15-20 points as a QB.

I actually lost points because my defense, Philly, only scored 4 points after starting with
10 points.

I’m not sure my 43 point lead will hold in this situation. I do have a couple of things
going for me, though. MNF games are usually low scoring, and Denver has a good defense
even though their offense sucks.

It’s not even close to being a must win for me, but a win would put me in a tie
for first place.

Etienne had a strong game yardage wise, but focking Lawrence, a QB, stole all
the goal line TDs!

I want this focking win so bad. Wish me the best.

I’m tied for first!

I have three players who have a bye this week. One is a kicker, one is a TE and the other
is my defense. Shit sucks, because those positions rarely get rostered as backups, so I have
to hit the player pool. That means I have to drop three players to cover for this week’s bye.

However, there are quite a few defenses that are available that have some good matchups
this week.

Patriots ( they play the bears)
Jets defense is sick ( they play Denver)
Raiders ( they play Houston)

I see 20 point potential in those matchups.

It seems like the Pats are on their business again. Is there a thing with them and 'mobile' QBs?

The Jets Defense has been grand. If Denver's issues really are a combo of being predictable and bad execution, the Jets should be able to deal with them, right?

Raiders off a bye...I'd want to believe they'd have something together but its the Raiders.

Of those 3, I like the Jets a lot in general and specifically for either a broken Russell Wilson or whatever a Rypien is.

As long as they get me 7 points I’m good.

I hate when a defense loses points. That shit is the worse. I’ve seen so meaning
guys lose because their defense gave away points..

If my opponent has no more plays, and Im winning?…. i will bench my defense.

Still have some players left tonight. I'm projected to win by 30 in one league, up 50 right now. This is my main league with the bigger money. I'm currently tied for 2nd with 4 other people in the division lol Looks like after this week I'll be tied for 1st with 4 other people.

In the other league I'm down like 30, projected to lose by 20. I need Damien Harris to go OFF. I'm currently tied for 1st with like 5 others, this will drop me to 2nd. My points for and against ratio is good in this league but I think I might not be able to recover from Hollywood going down. I need to see if I can make some moves.

I aint playing with these dudes! They think they can out waiver wire me..Fock that!

Lol

My opponent has no Monday night plays.

Holding on to Etienne has paid off..He is now the number 1 back for the Jaguars.
I still need a solid RB2 since Najee is bum as hell, and Montgomery plays with a shit
QB….

I’m going to see if I can sneak and snag Hubbard or Gus Edwards..but knowing my league
dudes already got in claims. If I get either one of them, my team will be crazy nice.

Other than that my squad can score

With Mahomes and Tyreke Hill as my major scorers…I’m good

traded away diggs, mitchell went to IR after the first game, dak missed 5 games and now chase is probably done. just when i think i might make a push boom. i did pick up boyd two days ago so that will soften the blow but it's still a big hit. i dropped gibson for gus and that's not looking great so far.

im hoping they put chase on IR real quick so i can make a move to grab another boom or bust WR. hopefully they dont handle this like the cowboys handled dak.

Or how the Chargers have treated Keenan Allen as 'day to day' for damn near two months. And the mfer hasn't played in a whole game this year yet. Totally ridiculous. Michael Thomas gets heat and he might be dogging it for real, but friggin Keenan Allen has been all but absent. For IRL, that sucks for JH. For fantasy, he's lame to try to manage around. Hopefully he's finally back for real after the bye.

I'm scurred that Chase is done for the regular season at least. Still, Boyd is gonna be good to have I think.

And I think you need to scoop Gibson again depending on what your bench is looking like. Someone might get wild and trade for him to finally rescue him from Washington. And even if he stays, they seem to be trying to use him finally.

In response to Reply # 95

I swear everyone I drop gets instantly scooped. I need to have better timing and try trading before dropping. My opponent has Zeke and he is probably out this week so I just know he will start Gibson and he will go off.

I was looking back at my drafted team and wow, quite a bit of blunders and bad luck for me.

12 team PPR

Ja'Marr Chase Cin, WR (probably out for ROS, got 3 great weeks from him)
Stefon Diggs Buf, WR (traded for Cook and Pittman)
Cam Akers LAR, RB (dumb move by me, dropped a couple weeks back)
Kyle Pitts Atl, TE (dropped for Taysom 3 weeks back)
Elijah Mitchell SF, RB (IR since week 1 now irrelevant, traded away along with Diggs)
Dak Prescott Dal, QB (missed 5 games)
Amari Cooper Cle, WR (one good pick)
Antonio Gibson Wsh, RB (has been average, flex worthy. dropped for Gus)
Rhamondre Stevenson NE, RB (dropped after week 1, since week 3 he's been great)
Allen Lazard GB, WR (dropped after week 1)
Marquez Valdes-Scantling KC, WR (dropped after week 2)
Cowboys D/ST Dal, D/ST (whoo 2nd good pick)
Daniel Carlson LV, K (3rd good pick)
Justin Fields Chi, QB (dropped after week 2)
Hayden Hurst Cin, TE (decent pick, especially now)
Damien Williams Atl, RB (dropped after week 1, IR)
Joey Slye Wsh, K (dropped Oct 5)
Jets D/ST NYJ, D/ST (dropped after week 3, good games since)

4/18 lol if I had been patient with Stevenson I probably wouldn't have traded away Diggs. I think Dallas D/St is the only player I have left with consistent boom potential. Amari somewhat.

Here's my current roster. I'm thinking I should make a trade but not sure if WR or RB would make more sense.

QB
Dak Prescott
Daniel Jones

RB
Dalvin Cook
Jamaal Williams
Eno Benjamin
Chuba Hubbard
Gus Edwards
Kyren Williams (IR) slot

WR
Amari Cooper
Tyler Boyd
Michael Pittman Jr.
Ja'Marr Chase
Parris Campbell

TE
Hayden Hurst
Greg Dulcich

D/ST
Cowboys
Jaguars D/ST

K
Daniel Carlson
Jason Myers

If it looks like Chase will be back for FF playoffs then I'm thinking of dropping a RB and moving Kyren to my bench and Chase to IR so I can pick up another WR. I felt dumb adding Campbell and Boyd this week since I already had Chase and Pittman but it worked out for Boyd.

I sat him for Danny Dimes thinking Dak would have 12-15 pts and not go off until after the bye. I expected Dime to get 15-20. So wrong. I needed those 20 points too. I also should have started Jamaal instead of Eno. Carlson got a big fat 0. So I'm down by like 60 with 3 players left. Projected to lose by like 30.

I need Amari, Boyd and Hurst to go off lol

And they have the nerve to be hemming and hawing on if he's ready now going into WEEK NINE. This is horrible for fantasy purposes. At least if they fridge him (IR or something), at least he can be stashed on an IR or dropped. Getting teased every week ain't what's up.

I drafted to avoid this but early injuries and performances made me drop a lot of players I could have used this week.

For one Fields. I had him in both leagues but went Dak went down and Fields didn't deliver in his early games I had to start streaming QBs and dropped him. He was picked up before Dak came back.

I'm playing the 1-7 team and I'm about to lose to them mostly because of Mixon lol I went into Sunday slightly favored in both leagues but it was a coin flip. It was only a coin flip because they both have Andrews and he's out. I have no players left in this league and I'm down by like 15 so yeah that's a wrap. In the other one I only have Likely left to play which I picked up mostly as a block. Projected to lose but there is a chance.

The good thing is that this loss doesn't really move me back in my playoff chances as everyone that is one game ahead or behind lost too. I definitely need to start getting some wins but I don't know if my teams are good enough.

We both have one player that’s playing tonight. He has Kamara and I have
Duvernay. We are both 6-2. Kamara needs to have a big performance in
order for him to win, because Duvernay is going to be the main target
tonight.

Bateman is out for the season. Andrews and Gus are both injured, so
Duv should be good for at least 15, and I already have a 14 point lead.

I could have murked this dude. Goedart scored 24 points, but I benched
him because I don’t play players who play on Thursday night for the week.
Those games are usually low scoring. Also I benched Lazard because he was
coming off a shoulder injury. He finished with 18 points on the day.

Mahomes, Etienne and Hill put up astronomical numbers as usual, so I’m never
in a situation where I’m low on points.

If I get this victory, and I should, I will be the top player in the league at 7-2.

I’m glad that most of the divisions in the league are in tight PO races, so
teams will be forced to play their top starters down the stretch. My team
should remain strong down to the very end, barring no injures happen.

I think we both found a way to lose lol I wanted to get Gallup on the cheap but he wanted Boyd or Cooper. If it wasn't my brother I would have just ended the conversation and moved on. I was also trying to get one of his RBs, ideally Pollard. He also has Henry, Patterson and Drake so I would take any of them. I don't have much to offer back in RBs but I was hoping he would want to take 2 of my mid RBs for one of those 4 lol

I ended up offering to send Boyd and either of my TEs (Hurst or Dulcich) for Gallup and Hockenson.

Basically I sent a good WR and decent TE and get back a good TE and decent WR. I am definitely hopeful that Gallup and Dak will start connecting more and I am hoping Chase will be back soon. He countered with me sending Hardman and Hurt. I didn't want to but I ended up saying okay and I think we're both eh about it lol

For me I'm hoping Hardman's past few weeks were just bleeps and he comes back down to earth lol

I still need to find a buyer for my mid RBs so I have a spot for Kyren Williams if the Rams activate him. I have Eno, Chuba and Gus. I'd happily send two of them for a decent RB but don't think anyone will bite. I don't even know if I want Kyren anymore either, the Rams are a mess.

Barring any injuries, I should be able to win this thing…should.

Bad news: had to drop Dallas Goedart. He sustained a serious injury and
will be out for awhile. Same thing goes for Khalil Herbert.

Good news: I picked up Cole Kemet to replace Dallas, and I already
have Montgomery who will become the number 1 RB now that
Herbert is on IR.

I ended up losing in the main league by 4 points to my brother. We were projected for a pretty close match up. We both far exceeded projections but Deebo put the dagger in Monday night. Going into the game I was projected to win by 3. So now I dropped to 5th in my division at 4-7 but only 1 game back from the playoffs and 2 from 1st. Only 3 games left though.

I put in a trade request yesterday for Zeke and Lockett. I'd give away Dalvin Cook and Boyd. I was planning to cancel it this morning if it wasn't accepted yet but they accepted it pretty quick. Problem is it shows it won't go through until Tuesday because of the Thursday night games. I thought if people didn't veto it tonight then it would go through tomorrow morning. I think I'm still good with it but I didn't wanna play Dalvin against the Patriots lol

In the other league I'm 6-5 and in a 3 way tie for 4th, which is the last playoff spot. 1 game behind 3rd/2nd and 2 behind 1st. 5 weeks to go before playoffs. Trade deadline passed already.

You should have kept Cook though. Patriots are ripe for a let down,
and the Viking are coming off of being embarrassed.

Vikings will be motivated and out for blood. Good teams always play on a high
level after experiencing a huge loss.

I finished second in it last year but I made some bad moves this year. Drafting Cam Akers in the 3rd round was big dumb. Pitts in the 4th didn't work out. I also lost Dak and Mitchell in the first game then dropped Stevenson and Lazard. I also traded away Diggs for Cook and Pittman Jr. That didn't work out especially when Chase went down. So bad moves and bad luck oh well.

I thought I still had a chance since mathematically I can still finish 3rd in my division but its the 6 best records regardless of division so nope.

In the other league I'm in a 3 way tie for 3rd. Based on points I am currently 5th. Playoffs are the last two weeks and 4 teams get in. I have a shot at this one. This week will be tough, CMC is questionable and Nuk and Hollywood are on bye. Hopefully I can squeeze out a win to keep pace then start making up points the rest of the weeks. I won this league last year but the commissioner has traded for some good players this year and is pretty stacked.

I have a long shot to make the playoffs in one league as the 4th seed.

Only 4 teams makes the playoffs, the first 3 are locked in at 12-3, 10-5 and 10-5. There are 3 teams at 8-7 and 3 at 7-8 including me.

So I basically need to win and have all the 8-7 teams lose. Right now that is projected to happen. Only problem, I have 41 "points for" less than my brother who would end up at 8-8 if he beats an 8-7 team. So I also need to outscore him which is not likely. Obviously projections are not worth much and a couple of these match ups are 50/50 so I probably wont get in. I need a Christmas miracle lol

Would be funny if there is a 5 or 6 way tie for 4th place though.

just missed the playoff winners bracket due to a tie breaker

Kyler Murray
Jimmy G

every week these niggas went to IR. Injuries killed my roster.

Just too many games down the stretch where players were lost early in the first quarter.

I lost my QB and RBs in the first game for a good chunk of the season. Lost Chase for 6/7 games, Hollywood in the other. Injuries were brutal this season. If you played in a 10 team league or less maybe it was manageable but 12 and up was rough.

I was thinking it would be interesting to draft team RBs instead of individual RBs. So you pick Dallas RBs and someone else to cover the bye week instead of Zeke and some other RB from another team. You could just apply it across all positions. I think it would help with in game injuries but it might make it less interesting.

I finished the season with an 11-3 record, tied for first in the league. We are
currently in the the second week of the first round playoffs. I’m winning my
matchup, 158-100, so I’m pretty much going to advance to the championship
game unless something strange happens.

The other playoff matchup is really close. The score is 127-128, so that
matchup is probably going to go down to the wire. Both teams are pretty solid,
but I don’t think either one is as good as mine. So I should go on to win the league,
but I’m not going to get to bold about it. I did lose three games during the season,
so nothing is purely written in stone.

Several years ago, I convinced some buddies to do fantasy leagues like weekly 50/50 contests. Ie: with a 12-team league, the top 6 scorers would get the win every week. We did it for a couple of years and it was pretty excellent. The luck was in the middle of the league and some of those Monday nights were crazy..with a few teams battling for a win.

We did the playoffs similarly l. Ie: the semifinals was 4 teams. Top 2 teams advanced. Then the final was 2 weeks. Aka if you won that shit, it’s because you fucking won. The people who disliked it the most were the type who barely pay attention and they just want to accidentally win every now and then to ‘stick it to’ the people who try. You know those types.

Before that, we had a dude lose his last regular season matchup on purpose to try to ‘rig the playoff seeds’ in his favor. Ho shit to the max. People were pissed of course. He made it to the finals and lost…barely. It took a 99 yard Victor Cruz TD to make him lose.

This play: https://youtu.be/27WK0LC-gXs

Good news..the pot was winner takes all that year so he left with nothing. That was a nice ending for such bitchass activity. Still tho! Since then, I have pretty much never want to play in a ‘pure H2H’ league ever again.

But of course, suggesting something different on earth is a tough thing. And meathead bros are gonna meathead bro. So I’ve pretty much never been able to get another group of people around me to agree to a 50/50 setup again.

And really, that was one of the main things that led to my retirement from season-long fantasy unless it’s a work/cheap league.

After a year or two away, I jumped into an thrown together cheap work league at the last minute. I talked them into having each week be 2 matchups: 1 h2h and 1 50/50 vs the league. That’s still not great but it’s livable.. And of course, you know there were several times where people scored top 3 in the league but lost their h2h matchup based on the randomized h2h lottery. Every time it would happen TO ANYONE, I’d say ‘hey folks, please note that H2H is silly’.

Where I went wrong: I failed to get them to do the playoffs ‘right’. So of course, I make it to the semis and lose 140-130 (Justin Fields/David Montgomery went batshit in week 15 and I got stuck with Hopkins after Colt got hurt and the Texans played over their own head..that didn’t help either!) while the other side of the bracket advanced by scoring like 105. And OF COURSE, I outscored the people in the finals bracket the next week by 30. But cuz H2H is silly, that got me 3rd instead of the championship.

Tldr: H2H is silly. Stop doing it. Go allplay or 50/50. The people who benefit most from H2H are usually the lower end people in your league who aren’t going to try at fantasy no matter what is happening.

Ripped dude to shreds. I was up by 50 after the first round, so
I didn’t have to worry about the second round at all.

I’ve never won a championship in fantasy, so I’m due.

The guy who I will be facing has a nice roster, but I still
feel mine is better.

I’m going for the KO in the first week again.

the stretch.

Miami lost Tua which killed Tyreke Hill…and the Bears basically rested players….

Watson got a hip injury last weekend which put him on the back burner…and he did
nothing.

I don't have ANY fantasy teams. Not one. I still have time to hop in somewhere, but I think I'm gonna chill. Just watch the games with no stakes, lol. See how it feels to not need my kicker to hit a 50 yarder on Monday night for me to win the week.

It looks like I'm out too. I want to do an auction but so many allegedly super smart people at my gig are all about continuing to do snake drafts. AKA I'm too snooty at this point in my life to do a straight-ahead league. I want weird-ish settings too. I'm not trying to spend 4 months messing around with a redraft team when I don't like the rulez/settings.
