That's 10 commitments, so two spots left on the team. Aldridge, Kawhi, Russy, Dame, CP3, Steph and Bron have all declined. I'd like to see them give one of the remaining spots to a young guy (Ingram maybe?) like they did with Anthony Davis in 2012.

but they both have plenty of reasons to say no.
without kyrie, conley's the only other point in the pool....
but i'd maybe prefer isaiah or kemba over conley right now just because he's already dealt with injuries this season and there's going to be a lot o push/pull with his free agency early in the summer, and he might be one of the guys that takes a while to settle.
they have to want guards right? they've got plenty of viable international centers. wonder if we get to the point where we're debating the merits of of c.j. mcollum or redick.

especially since it hasn't been "no problem" the last few olympics. there are teams that have had leads against team USA, and there are teams that can give this team a run. i never said they won't win, but it won't be "no problem." this isn't 1992.

would have loved to see if they had anything in the way of competition. we'll see by time the next World Cup comes along. i also expect Australia to make some noise by then too.

turkey and france are kinda between generations, so they have a shot, but they need people who can knock down shots (i'd be giving jamal murray every opportunity to be that guy...). other than senegal's suspect backcourt, i don't think anyone else at the tourney will be intimidated by canada's talent.
and they did lose to venezuela....not exactly a power. it's a shame because they certainly would have qualified if joseph hadn't been ass that game or tristan had been playing, but even a man down, that's not olympic-worthy.
i'll be rooting for them in the qt for sure though, should be entertaining.

pretty sure you can watch it live on fiba tomorrow morning or on one of the espns.
joseph and tristan literally leaning on the scrubb brothers to get this done, could have easily lost all 3 games they've won. they're trying to play ennis and joseph together but it hasn't worked very well so far.
ejim nearly caught on with the nigerian squad a few years ago, but canada is really lucky he's there right now. he's giving them an alternative to anthony bennett...two men basically on opposite paths.
team's really suffering from lack of shooters though. and it's pretty lucky it hasn't faced the quality for 4s and 5s that would be there for the olympics and some of the other QT.
france is rolling out parker/de colo/batum/bo bo/lauvergne, but obviously several of those guys have been distracted by nba happenings for parts of the tournament.

and didn't have the size/shooting/teamwork to match france. funny seeing how deep in the doghouse batum is with the french coach. i assume they'll work it out before rio.
you forget how young tristan and joseph still are. canada doesn't have anyone in their rotation born before the 90s. everyone has 2 more olympic cycles in them. but you wonder if they'll ever all get together. being built around nba talent is a gift and a curse for canada right now.

that was easily the biggest difference between canada and france today.
wiggins/lyles/olynyk plug in a LOT of the defincies you see in their play in this tournament, and you assume murray can claim a starting guard spot, but team defense and high percentage shots from outside are all they're missing, and that comes from putting the time in.

and he will be leaned on for veteran leadership on and off the court. It will be interesting to see how he responds and if it carries over into the NBA season.
