I mean, Wiggins and Jabari are already not the best player on their team, which, on one hand, takes a lot of pressure off them but, on the other, will have people knock them since they aren't necessarily The Man.
And I think his year at LSU showed us that Simmons' warts could show more if not on the right team.
So I'll go:
1a. Ben Simmons: I feel like Colangelo and Brown are going to build around him. If he goes to Philly, of course. If they screw up the rebuild, it could drag him down to the bottom. But because he's a point forward, I'm going to give him the best shot of being The Man. With everyone being so close, that gives him the #1 spot. EDIT: In hindsight, I'm already questioning this pick. He's the most likely to bust but fuck it, I'll roll the dice.
1b. Andrew Wiggins: Many of his Year 2 stats were similar to Year 1 but I'm expecting a third year leap. I had him at #1 but if they add Kris Dunn, I think there's a very good chance that he gets lost in the shuffle with Towns being the lead dog, Dunn being the team's motor, and LaVine eating up looks as well. Also, Thibs could run him into the ground by the time year 5 rolls around.
1c. Brandon Ingram: The easiest fit into a lineup and the person whose skills are the most prototypical for his position. I think he could be the safer bet than Simmons but Simmons has the higher upside.
2. Jabari Parker: Replace Jabari with Giannis and you might have a new #1 on this list. But while Parker really came on in the second half of the season, I think he's the most likely to be the third wheel. ---- NBA MOCK DRAFT #1 - https://thecourierclass.com/whole-shebang/2017/5/18/2017-nba-mock-draft-1-just-lotto-and-lotta-trades
