nigga was on edge or something

Besides the fact that he was wrong, his comment don't even make sense. If a system was beating me, why would i be opposed to playing in that system??

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/knicks/derek-fisher-trashes-rajon-rondo-triangle-talk-article-1.2523130

If there's one trigger point for the Phil Jackson regime, it’s any commentary against the triangle. Derek Fisher took his defense of that system to another level Sunday while insulting Rajon Rondo, but the Knicks coach may want to check his facts. Responding to Rondo’s quote from Friday that the triangle is not a good system for his style of play, Fisher got personal.

“You can’t ask a player who wasn’t very successful playing against it if he wants to play in it,” Fisher said after questioning Rondo’s status as an elite player. “That’s your opinion whether or not he’s an elite player,” he said.

Melo is clearly still bothered by the knee.

They've looked bad the last couple of weeks but they really aren't that good roster wise.

The team is winning EDIT more than expected, even with the recent slump and it seems like the young guys are developing. What else is he supposed to do with that roster?

Even with the 9 out of 10. I guess the Nuggets loss was the last straw.

But just a crazy year for coaches with Blatt getting dumped, Fisher getting canned, and the Kings talking about firing Karl. Expectations are a hell of a drug.

he said something last week about if they don't make the playoffs its not a disappointment. Then he said it was his fault that the team has been falling behind early in games consistently.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

The team is better than expected and Rambis is a fucking disaster. But yeam maybe he saw the writing on the wall and knew he was done at the end of the season and was phoning it in. Who knows.

Yes they were overachieving, now they are losing their ass. If they don't turn it around now, the season is lost.

Fish is a Phil guy, and they paid him a big pile of money for a first-time HC. Nothing unfair or shady here IMO, just business. It's unfortunate but not unjust. Hopefully Fish learned a lot from this gig and has a successful career in coaching. Wouldn't surprise me to see him maybe in a front office position later instead. He will stay in the game.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

It is illogical to me to say, "We have to save the season that is only worth saving in the first place because Fish had these guys overachieving."

Dude got fired for the team regressing to the mean.

If the team were playing better one game wouldn't matter that much, let alone one play. You're the head coach, you bear the brunt of these things. People can talk about Phil but he wasn't dealt a great hand either and let's face it, Fish is Wee Bay, Phil is Avon Barksdale.

Obviously management had his back to this point but they would fire damn near anyone short of a top-five coach at this point. A team with any sort of expectations in this sort of tailspin at this critical juncture in the season would have made the same move with anyone. I don't know if they will right the ship but there is usually a little boost with a new coach coming in.

Personally I think it's ridiculous to go nuts because you went from potential road playoff team/aka walking into a buzzsaw to being a non-playoff team. We are talking about two, maybe three extra home games, albeit profitable ones. That versus paying two coaches at once? I don't see the big benefit.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Knicks Didn’t Respect Fisher After He Got With Barnes’ Wife
By Robert Littal - February 9, 2016 16 4827
Share on Facebook Tweet on Twitter

Gloria Govan Matt Barnes Derek Fisher

Most NBA players sided with Matt Barnes in his beef with Derek Fisher. But it wasn’t that Fisher just slept with his once friend’s wife that turned Knicks players against him, it was the fact he did it during the Knicks training camp.

According to WOJO, that was the beginning of the end for him.

As a young NBA coach, the fastest path to losing a locker room comes this way: Behave like a player. To fly to California and visit a girlfriend in the middle of the New York Knicks’ training camp – engaging Matt Barnes in a Tom-and-Jerry tussle-and-chase – cost Derek Fisher dearly. Fisher lost the moral high ground inside Madison Square Garden, lost a measure of gravitas as a leader of men.

The embarrassment of his unfilmed “Real Housewives” episode didn’t cost Fisher his job as Knicks coach, but it did start him on a slippery slope toward his firing on Monday. That October weekend odyssey was Fisher’s choice, and the blame for it all – including the failure to return to New York in time to conduct a Knicks practice – belongs to him.

WOJO goes on to imply that Phil Jackson is making it impossible for the Knicks to truly take a step forward and eventually will quit.

When he does quit WOJO says he will make his way back to the Lakers.

insist on the triangle being ran, i want him to either coach or be gone. I don't want to have to pick a coach from his shrub just bc its the only job they can get.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

position where a rumor like this is given any credibility is not a good look, he has to go.

Fish is probably going to have to the longtime assistant route before he gets another HC look again.

just bc someone has 1 indiscretion doesn't mean that every accusation in that vein is credible. The THJ thing is nothing more than unsubstantiated sources. Would be no different to me if someone tweeted that they just saw jason kidd driving drunk or Kobe going into a hotel room with a becky (actually i would believe that)

As for the 2nd statement, i agree. I don't think anyone besides feel was giving him the head coaching gig this time lol

drafting Porzingis is the only positive sign of judgment Phil has shown for the Knicks so far, correct? I wonder if he's bold enough to want to stamp his triangle or bust credo for the next coaching hire.

Hard to imagine Fisher will even get an assistant coaching gig since he actually had something negative happen off the court that could serve as a distraction, muchless something involving an active player. Is there an example of a head coach having headlines for some off the court drama? I guess Carlisimo could be an example, but he didn't initiate his mess with Sprewell, meanwhile Fisher was the one that stepped to Barnes' ex-woman. In front of Barnes' children.

Lopez is a great defender and actually gets great post position that leads to an easy hook shoot or lay in. And with the cap exploding like its bout to 13 million per isn't terrible (it ain't a bargain either)

The guys he's gotten/found off the scrap heap have been pretty great, GAlloway, Williams, OQuinn(he needs more minutes) have been good finds.

His whiffing on Monroe/Aldridge is understandable considering the whole not wanting to play C thing coupled with how good porzingis is now.

We still need a pg and a coach.

If he just tries to plug in anybody that'll run the triangle we're gonna be doooooomed tho
