"Rank Players by draft" Tue Dec-22-15 04:34 PM by Cenario

Basically, position/team be damned how the top 5 shoulda went for each year.
sheeeeit, 10 too much.
-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

trade if you must from that position.
give an example. I guess if a team had Tim Duncan, they wouldn't need a PF, but he succeeded in a twin tower system. If a team had CP3, do you really not take, say, Russy?

For instance, using Cenario's example above, no one would've drafted Manu Top 5 in 1999. That's revisionist history based on what we now know about Manu. He wasn't remotely projected as a lottery pick.
So if we're supposed to rank "who became the best players," then sure. Manu can be in that Top 5.
But if we're ranking "who would've been the best choice," you need to consider what scouting reports at the time said and what the existing perceptions of picks were when that draft occurred.
I'm assuming he means to just select who became the best out of each class. But I always grow weary of people who post something like "someone drafted Wesley Johnson over Paul George in the draft, lulz," when pretty much *everyone* at the time would've gone with Johnson. So I just wanted to draw that distinction.

But not necessarily who peaked the highest, but take their whole career into perspective.
